LYRICS: Hey look there he goes again Piano man has found a friend Stands and waits and nods and laughs And hopes his turn will come at last But there he stands and watches close A smiling dork who doesn't know That there's no chance in hell That this dude's getting up So when's the time to say That you play piano too? Woah-oh Woah-oh You play piano too! Woah-oh Woah-oh Look at you standing by yourself With hands inside your pockets Oh well I know it's time to shine My spotlight waits for me to play It's alright When's he gonna let me play the keys Cause I can wait here All I need is just one chance to go I'll play every song I know So when's the time to say I play piano too? Woah-oh Woah-oh You play piano too!/I play piano too! Woah-oh Woah-oh But instead he turns his head and says Wow! That's really good! I like the way you play that What kind of keyboard is that? How long have you been playing? Oh man! I remember learning that song last year! Did you know that I play piano too? Because I do! I play the piano too! Yeah I got a keyboard at my house too! Mine's weighted keys though How 'bout you? Have you ever heard of Jacob Collier? Do the riff! Do the run! Do the lick! Do you know about the lick? Bwa bwa bwa bwa bwa bwa bwaaa That's the lick! Ya heard of it? Do you feel better now that you've said I play piano too!/You play piano too! I play piano too!/You play piano too! He's not getting up He's not getting up He's not getting up He's not going anywhere He's sitting in your chair! He's never gonna give it up! Kill him now! Kill him now! Kill the boy!

“You get a cow, a pig, and a chicken all in one room, that is a bacon, egg, and cheese baby.” I mean, I cannot argue with this assessment.
1:40 I just love how on piano Daniel stares straight into opposing Daniel’s eyes with confusion.
Since Daniel wrote an original piece, does that mean he’s no longer doomed to be a cover artist?
This should be a musical! “The struggle of a modern musician” or something like that! I would actually love to see that

This was awesome!!! I always forget that Daniel has an amazing singing voice... And that he can sing parts is like a bonus. Also, this song is exactly what it is like living in my house. I am one of 6 kids, and we all play piano (my mom taught us, so 7 pianists in the house!). We have one baby grand and one keyboard. We all hate the keyboard, so when one person starts playing, dibs for "next on the piano" start coming out of the walls!
I don't know why but I really like his smile at 0:48. Also I think it's fun that the evil narrator (?) looks so clean cut with his suit and glasses.
Little creative choices I appreciate in this video: 0:01 The sound of a piano cause Daniel to materialize from behind the column 0:27 The little zoom when he tilts his head down and says “close” 0:31 This line that doesn’t rhyme and therefore illustrates the indigence lol 2:35 k!ll him now, K!ll him NOW KlLL THE BOY

While I have enough practice at pretending to be a normal person to not do that, that is what will go through my head. However, you can walk into my house and play the piano and I will not give a shit
@razechaos3489

@@rivercat26 then there must be more to it. A list then perhaps. Not being a mouth based instrument certainly still is applicable, but I think it would also be pretty appropriate to consider the factors of tuning and the general maintenance that goes into personal instrument. If somebody jacks with your pegs and the knobs, you are going to be the one that has to replace a snap string. Your bow will also be a pretty personal effect. They certainly also would not be able to drop a piano by committing to general use. There is also something to be said about the communal nature of a piano. And band and choir practice, it is so common for everybody to use it as a reference for tuning, it's also such a cornerstone when it comes to specialties that it has a broad use as opposed to more strictly defined roles. Points have to be afforded, I think, for the simplicity of the piano as well. As mentioned before, with the general maintenance of most other instruments, most pianos that could be publicly touched are designed to be workhorses. Keyboards that do not need to be tuned, or maybe one that belongs to the music teacher at your local high school, for the communal piano at your local church. I know that a pipe organ very quickly falls off of the category because I feel just to touch one would be a crime. Very intriguing points all around, thank you for inspiring an interesting tangent. Lol
@rivercat26
2 жыл бұрын
@@razechaos3489 Right! I think it has something to do with how personal the instrument is. Like if you carry it around with you and clean it and such, it feels very personal. Like an instrument you refer to as "mine." While people might refer to a piano as "the piano" or even "my piano" it's more in the sense that you might refer to your house as "my house." You won't get offended if someone you live with also refers to it as their house. So like. Pianos you walk away from, and small instruments you take with you, and it think that makes all the difference
2:32 Song getting more intense and more, and finally "Kill the BOOOOY!" chills... Literal chills.
The chorus of this sounds *exceedingly* familiar

Its scary how specifically accurate this is. Whenever I mention that I have a keyboard, the first thing I talk about is weighted keys and Jacob Collier, no joke.
I have been on both sides of this interaction before, and I can confirm: every person who eventually gets up to let you play does not actually want to get up lol

the same happens when you're at a friends house (or a friend is at yours) and you want to play the video game too. a truly relatable situation, right down to the contemplation of murder.
2:17 Dang- Daniel can sing lol- The descent from the weird musical beauty into pure darkness is really well done.
why is this so relatable?? 👀 like, everytime after church, the kids and I go to the piano room, and an inexpirienced girl starts hogging the piano and cluelessly starts *smacking* the keys..... 🥲🥲 it breaks my heart, get well soon my piano 🤧

To this day he is still waiting for his turn
Okay, this is genius. And like genuinely a bop.
The sound of his shoes or idk what at the end is just hilarious, it finishes the song on a whole new level😂
as a piano player i can say this is 100% accurate
This is great! I'd love to see more legit songs from you (by "legit" I don't necessarily mean serious; I just mean full songs)
Daniel totally kills it every time he wears a suit
This is just pure gold, i love it
As a pianist with a brother, also a pianist, sharing a piano... Relatable
How is Daniel so good at writing catchy songs? This is gonna be stuck in my head for days now.
Actually really proud of that guy for not killing that other guy played by the first guy.
We need more of these. Your songs are always a bop!
