Tina Me most people take 100 mcg. Maybe you need the dose increased? Some people don’t covert T3 to T4 all that well. Might be worth asking for a referral to an endocrinologist. It’s not very helpful for your doctor to say you’re fine when you’re still symptomatic.

I see she didn’t mention any fruits in her recommended food list (I’m guessing she avoids them because of the natural sugar found in fruit). If anyone’s interested, my nutritionist who specializes in endocrine disorders advised me that fruits are definitely beneficial to health due to their fiber, vitamins and water content, but to consume them earlier in the day rather than later. Forrest berries are excellent to add to oats, yogurt and cereals.

I do intermittent fasting. I eat once a day. And I eat again till the next day at 2:30PM it's not easy in the beginning as you start, but as you get used to it man you will love it. I had gained 10 pounds and I lost them already! I'm back at 120 pounds again. I honestly have not had this much energy like I have now, I feel I have "detoxified my body" , and I dont feel inflamed internally anymore. Of course I eat veggies lean meat turkey, fish, chicken, alot of water, green tea. And I work out 6 days a week an hour of spinning, and weight lifting. I'm also taking 88 mcg's of Levothyroxine as well. That's how I have managed to stay in shape and living a healthier lifestyle, and painless. Especially with fibromyalgia and chronic pain!! I dont even get migraines anymore! I cant remember the last time I have had one anymore!!!

I also feel like it is extremely important to find the right Doctor. Some GP's think they know what to do and you do not need to see a specialist. In my case, I had to reach out to a good endocrinologist myself, so I always encourage my clients to do research and see a specialist, even though your family Doctor might feel like it's not necessary...

I'm excited to watch the rest of this video, but i just wanted to say thank you for talking about it all.

Love this, I deal with hypothyroidism and Hashimoto and it’s not fun. My biggest challenge has always been my weight and figuring out what to eat for my situation. I have issues with taste and getting rid of sugar(I know I need to kick it out to the curb). I would love to see more recipes or food ideas such as snacks, quick meals, lunch, dinners etc. I get so confused and discouraged when I read different books or articles on this subject. Some say don’t eat eggs while others say you should eat them. Also, do you have any ideas for someone who does camping? I’m a Girl Scout co-leader and we will be camping a lot this coming year. I would love to stay on track. Thank you for sharing your story and ideas!

I subscribed just now; and am really looking forward to learning more about this and figuring out how to balance myself out.

Hypothyroidism is a hormone disorder that causes your metabolism to slow down. As a result, it’s common to experience weight gain when you have hypothyroidism. That’s because your body is burning fewer calories than normal and using fat as a primary energy source. However, some herbal supplements can help with weight loss. For example, Gymnema sylvestre contains compounds that help regulate blood sugar levels, which makes it a promising herbal supplement for people with hypothyroidism who are trying to lose weight.

It is actually very common that people who have dairy intolerances also have hypothyroidism. However, the main cause of this is the weakness of the gut. Incorporating even small amounts of dairy like one tablespoon of yogurt or milk in your diet is actually super important. It teaches your body to start releasing those enzymes to break it down without giving you a huge dairy crash of sharp pains. I had cut out all dairy for about 2-3 years of my life along with gluten because of my terrible IBS. Giving my stomach time to heal definitely fixed my gut, and know in small amounts I eat dairy. I don’t eat ice cream or pizza or milkshakes. No no definitely not. I eat about a tablespoon of yogurt a day to start and slowly teach my body again to release those enzymes again.

I've also recently been diagnosed with hypothyroid and have found Vitalivesfree to be a really good resource on information concerning hashimotos. She reversed her hashimotos with food and supplements and has tons of videos about what she did/does to maintain herself. I suggest checking her out.

I too suffer with HASHIMOTO'S and I just began going to an endocrinologist 2 months ago The medication is a must and a lifelong journey I'm told HOWEVER my Endo also told me diet is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT with this disease Most people who have hashimoto's tend to have celiac disease and other GI problems as well ..so a gluten-free diet is very beneficial and improved my moods tremendously I also eliminated dairy and refined sugars for the most part and I feel a hundred times better I've also learned that raw vegetables especially cruciferous vegetables like broccoli cauliflower and brussel sprouts are very bad when you have hashimoto's they have something called goitrogens that are bad for the thyroid and our mood...we can eat them in moderation if they have been fully cooked but I choose to eliminate them all together for now.. I have given into temptation a few times in the past few months and eaten some chocolate chip cookies and ice cream and Candy here and there and it actually makes me feel depressed again which has been a huge problem for me with this disease I have horrible depression symptoms for about a year now when I know there's nothing in my life I should be depressed about supplements such as zinc and selenium are very important as well and vitamin D! I can actually tell if I don't get enough of these vitamins each day my moods will suffer because of it and my brain fog will even begin to return if I do not eat clean and take my supplements everyday on top of my medication the doctor gave me which was 50 mcg of synthroid until last week he also added 10mcg of t3/liothyronine Dr Westin Child's it's a very good person to get educated on this disease he has hundreds of videos and he also sells different vitamins and supplements which help hashimoto's patients I am taking the adrenal reset complex and the t4 to t3 conversion

Thank you so much!! I’ve had hypothyroidism since I’d had to be early teens and I’m now in my early twenties. It’s been difficult finding the right foods that work for me and keeping the weight off!! And I didn’t even realize some of the problems I’m having are stemming from my hypo! I cannot tell you how much you’ve helped!

I find bulletproof coffee for breakfast helps me a lot!! Lol (mold free coffee, with marine collagen, Stevia, grass fed ghee, MCT, wizzed up in a vitamix!) I love goat yogurt!!!

I’ve gone off broccoli. I tried to like it BUT.....It just feel wrong yuck! Plus the goiterogens issue. You see, what did a lot of damage to me was I tried to be vegan for years, and it was so bad I nearly died of myexodema hypothyroid coma. I cannot be vegan. It’s not Bioavailable for my genetics. Then discovered how my body likes wild fish, dairy, eggs, etc. And low carb.

Yaaass for this video, I am definitely going to be making changes starting next week to my diet! I eat raw kale everyday as my salad and roasted kale as well, definitely going to calm my raw kale eating lol! Thanks so much, I always struggle with knowing what to eat, I was born without a thyroid and recently I just lost 40 pounds but I am tired of my current diet and want to start anew! And now it will be CORRECT! Definitely going to schedule an appointment with my endo to make sure my medicine is doing its part!
