My Husband Helped Me Love My ‘Super-Fat’ Body | TRULY

SUBSCRIBE to Barcroft TV: bit.ly/Oc61Hj
A ’SUPER-FAT' woman has learnt to love her curves, with the help of her average-sized husband. Amalie Jennings, originally from Denmark, lives in Hertfordshire, UK with her British husband Sean. Amalie first met her husband Sean on an online video game in 2008. Most people in the couple’s lives have been accepting of their ‘mixed weight’ relationship, however they have had to cut contact with Sean’s father.

    It’s fatphobic to treat people badly or differently to what you would anyone else because of their size though, as well as feeling you have the right to say anything to a person about their weight if you’re not their doctor, or family, or a very close friend because it’s not of your business and it’s not out of concern and only done to shame when it’s not someone you’re close to

    Alois Trancy You are correct. "Fat~phobic" means to have an irrational fear of fat. It is not, at all, irrational to fear the effects of obesity, of being fat... not only for ones own body, but also when it effects others, the fear of having to pay for the medical care of others who are overweight. It is incredibly costly. I've been obese myself... borderline MORBIDLY obese. I am so thankful to those who spoke the truth to me about my health and my size, and for recognizing that I needed help... not apathy.

    panda bb research suggests that a low glycemic diet can practically cure pcos. My sister has it, but because she eats healthily and exercises regularly you can barely tell she has it whereas other we know have a lot of the symptoms associated with pcos. They give the same medication to pcos sufferers as diabetes type 2 so keeping your insulin levels in check is a good way of managing it.

    Same, also lost a former friend because he ate himself to death. His weight caused heart problems which caused him to die in his 30s. She doesn’t need to be skinny, just smaller than she is now. Overall she will be happier for it. Never being judged, finding it easier to walk, finding it easier to find clothes that fit, finding it easier to fit through stuff. Women look better with curves in my opinion anyway but when it gets to the point that you have rolls and get out of breath easily is when you need to cut back on your eating habits

    I dont know how to feel about this video, really. As someone who was severely obese until last year before i decide to lose weight, i can relate to what she said living as the chubby girl and thinking that this is just my body the way it is, and that there was nothing wrong with me. Well it turned out there is something wrong with my habits. But once i learn about nutritions, calorie balance (the CICO theory) it just made sense to me why ive been fat my whole life. I learn to eat smarter (not always by counting calories) i learn to move even if its just a 1000 steps a day. But i can see things gradually change. Now im in the normal weight, it took me a whole year. But darling, my fat girls, my big babies, if its alarming for you, if it holds you back from doing what you want (in my case i really wanted to run because yes some fat people cant run) do something about it. I did and it works amazingly for my mental health and wellbeing. Accepting your body also includes appreciating them by doing things you have to do, which you already knew. most of us fat people know deep down that this is wrong and we need to do something, but denial is a really scary thing. I wish you best of luck and please stay healthy

  • @plan4life

    @plan4life

    I have trouble believing this because you can’t go from being obese to be being normal weight in just a year. I managed to lose 10 kilo in a year. That is it. I was following a Weight Watchers diet plan. At the end of the year I was still obese. After that I relaxed a little on the diet, didn’t eat more, just didn’t follow it quite so rigidly. Within 2 years I put on 20 kg. Losing weight doesn’t go as easily as you said. And yes I do still intermittently eat Weight Watcher meals. I eat a snack for my lunch (eg meusli bar) and a brioche for my breakfast.

  • @anyametref5176

    @anyametref5176

    @@plan4life That's the problem you followed a restrictive diet which is the wrong method according to me. For some people it's indeed easy to lose weight but that doesn't mean they won't put it back on. Most of people diet to lose weight rather than embracing a new healthy lifestyle. Don't follow those kind of programs, learn about nutrition, how to better chose your calories rather than just lowering them. And workout, move, walk...ect. Boost your metabolism by not sitting around all the day long but rather doing anything that can make you burn calories other than working out. Ps: You can be obese by exceeding your normal weight by only 25 kg. If you lose that in a year it's 2 kg per month it's not that much, it's actually a very good pace of losing weight.

But a delusional bubble of “self love” for what is extremely unhealthy is not helping, it’s narcissism and highjacking of a movement meant for people who really need it. As in burn victims, mothers whose bodies are different after birth, slightly chunky people, girls with dark skin, freckles, etc. It shouldn’t be for people who don’t care for their body and are so overweight they could die before they are thirty. She may be a nice person but she is not nice to her body period. You can be bigger framed, but she obviously is just over eating and not exercising enough. If you love and appreciate having a body, you do what you can to extend your life as long as possible, not end it as soon as possible. People coddling her and lying to her saying she beautiful and it’s okay to be fat are just as ignorant. This is a major issue of narcissism, lack of attention, mental issues, depression, laziness, denial and so on. There’s nothing positive about it. You seem like the type to not get that. 😤

Very few people eat as healthy as I do. It is discrimination to say someone has an unhealthy lifestyle, just because of their size. It is discrimination to judge my body & try to say my body costs you (society) more money. There are obese people that- for whatever reason- canNOT lose weight. None of us need your judgment. surely you agree there is a difference between the quality of food you eat and the quantity? anyone, including obese people, can “eat healthy” when it comes to the quality of food intake, but if the amount of healthy food you are taking in is in excess, then it doesn’t really make much of a difference if it’s all fresh or vice versa.

  • @KangaRuby

    @KangaRuby

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@saradanser894 Quantity vs quality. You could be eating the right foods but still be eating too much, as is often the case. If you're eating well that's great but if you're eating so much of it that you're still obese then that's still your own fault. To maintain a "healthy" BW, you have to eat at maintenance. If you're unable to exercise, your maintenance is lower than someone's who's athletic. It's your responsibility to control that - nobody else's. To lose weight all you have to do is eat a caloric deficit. It's incredibly rare for people who're obese to actually have a legitimate reason why they absolutely cannot lose weight and making excuses ("but my lifestyle is healthy!" etc. etc.) doesn't help, it's just a way of avoiding responsibility. I was fat all through my childhood and was bullied for it so I hate the "you wouldn't like it if it were you" argument because damn right I didn't like it. I hated it, so I changed. Loving your body doesn't mean denying that it's unhealthy to be fat. It means caring enough about your body to do something to make it healthier, longer term. It means not wallowing in self-hatred at any body size, but also allowing yourself to change. If you really loved yourself surely you'd want to take care of yourself properly, right?

    I am currently obese in the BMI spectrum and I am not happy about it. I know how difficult it is to lose weight because I have to change my mindset, eating habits, and strengthen my willpower. I just refused to accept that "this is how my body is". I just have to own it and stop this self-abuse! You still can do it. Don't fall into this trap that you were born to be fat... I've been fat since I was a little girl but not healthy. You can still save yourself baby girl.

    This is an example of how her parents failed her as a child and have now condemned her to a lifetime of body image and health issues. Weight loss is the easiest equation on the planet...calories in < calories out = weight loss. She didn't need to be taken to doctors about her weight gain as a child, her mother needed to learn about child nutrition. And now she hasn't found true love, she has found a man who has a fat fetish who rather than encourage her to lose weight for the benefit of her long term health, endorses the poor food choices she makes for selfish reasons. It's actually a very sad story.

    “Right now, I don’t care.” That’s the problem. When you get to the point where you don’t care, you will keep living an unhealthy lifestyle and eventually die young. Just stating the facts. My aunt was obese for 30yrs, she died at the age of 55 because of SEPSIS. I implore ANYONE who is struggling with their weight at such dangerous levels to turn it around before it’s too late!! I’ve struggled with mine for years and only recently began eating healthier and working out and guess what? It’s paid off. I’ve lost 40lbs and feel amazing! I want to LIVE as long as I can to be with the ones I love, and if this woman doesn’t learn discipline and how to actually respect her body and to treat it like a temple, she will be suffering from much harder times in the years to come.

She even says in the video she doesn't want to lose weight to conform to societies standards, but that's missing the point. She should loose the weight so she can maintain her health and freedom further into her life. I'm sure she'd like to be able to travel when she's older, being morbidly obese makes this so much more difficult.
