Honestly I am most impressed with Evan’s ability to understand how to apply winged for hooded eyes his first time doing makeup. It literally took me about 7 years of doing makeup to figure it out and once I did, my mind was blown.

I honestly gave up on makeup. But I also get pretty intense eye reactions to most eye makeup. And since I don't like having weepy eyes with I'm going out, I just. Don't.

I don't do make up and it was honestly my first thought when he said it's much lower than he wanted it lol.

As a fellow husband, my wife would end up looking like a clown. Huge props to Evan on this.

as a man with no wife ( yet ? ) my future wife wouldn't look like a clown , I'm a extreme perfectionist and thanks to seeing my sister and some friends do their makeup before I'm pretty familiar with all the funky tools . tho still wonder why highlighters blushes eyeshadow ect ... all look like they are the same thing ..

@@CrimsonAkato Honestly, they kinda are. Eyeshadows may be formulated a little differently to be safer around the eyes (and also more pigmented), but they're all basically colored powders that have been pressed into a pan. I regularly use my blush and highlighter as eyeshadows too.

@@CrimsonAkato I mean they are in a way and also aren't. The only real differences with highlighter, bronzer, and blush are that highlight is usually shimmery and lighter, bronzer is darker, and blush is usually colored to mimic a natural flushed color. Eyeshadows meanwhile are eye safe and just contain way more color options than the other colored powders usually do. I am a woman and even I get flustered over all the makeup options to the point I just don't use it even though I'd love to try. I pretty much stick to lip products and that's it.

I feel like in most cases if the person doesn't explcitely look like/say they're uncomfortable or that their partner is being too rough they're probably...fine? Sometimes things look rough but for the person whose actually feeling it, it isn't uncomfortable at all. I know this because I sometimes watch asmr videos of people doing their daughter's hair and people freak out about them being rough and hurting the kid when in reality the kid is fine and in no pain at all and the asmrtist has to leave a disclaimer saying that lol. People aren't made out of porcelain, and unless the person doing the make up is being _very_ noticeably rough OR their partner looks like/expresses that they're in pain, it's probably fine 😅 My mom is heavy handed when doing this kind of stuff but it's not painful or 'heartbreaking' at all lol, it's just the way she does things.

To be fair, doing it on someone else is probably also a bit easier than on yourself, especially since you can use your dominant hand for both sides without contortions

Evan taking the scientific approach to makeup is so precious. He did trial and error to replicate results, whereas most guys that do this trend just guess what makeup is supposed to do and schlop it on like clown makeup

I love it when KZreadrs bring back old trends especially when there literally my favourite KZread Chanel I have ever watched

I know "KZread Chanel" was a typo, and I'm not making fun of you or it, but it immediately brought to mind all of the ~ * ~ luxurious ~ * ~ items E&K have made over the years, like velvet toilet sets and a purse made out of resin & fake money. And honestly, I like the idea of calling it a Chanel for them instead of a channel. It fits their brand. 😂

I.... actually LOVE the smokey double winged eye look Evan did first!! And the way he blended the eyeshadow with the liner in the "final look" - I am seriously impressed!

Evan figured out in one go what took me years of doing eyeliner on my hooded eyes to figure out, I tip my hat to him

I'm so impressed with Evan's intuitive eyeliner skills!! First the puppy dog eyes, which I'm guessing were accidental but that downward eyeliner is actually kind of in right now, and then applying the upward wing with your eyes open?! So smart!!! Makes me wonder if he's seen the tiktoks

I feel like because people who do makeup have been fed so much info that only applies to certain faces, it takes us longer to learn how to do it for ourselves. Whereas Evan having no experience, got to figure it out kinaesthetically. The eye look turned out amazing too I’m so impressed. Like how did we go from black eye to evening smoky eye?

That was so cute. The editing was *chefs kiss *. Evan surprised me on picking up on makeup techniques that I could have sworn that he had watched a video like on how to do double wing eyeliner (legit a thing). Applying the mascara on the top of the upper eyelashes too (something I do every time I add makeup) But then he goes and puts blush on the nose... Lol.

Yeah nose blush is a thing for people who want to look rosy so he wasn't entirely wrong there either!

I love that Evan actually tried to do a wearable look and took the artistry of the process seriously; so many "male partner does my make up" vids have the guy kind of scoffing at the idea of it or doing something THEY think looks good instead of what their partner usually wears and it's like.... It always bugs me lol. So this was a really lovely departure from that dynamic! 🙌

I'm shook by how quickly Evan realised how the position of the eyelid and how the crease influence the outcome of a geometricaly correct liner. I've watched so many husbands/boufriends do their wives/girlfriends makeup, Evan is making it look so instinctual and easy. Evan, if you're reading this, makeup might be your unconscious hidden talent.

watching this is so impressive, like i know evan is very talented when it comes to crafting (also smaller finnicky things like keyboards and the like) but him basically reverse engineering that eyeliner was incredibly amazing to watch. like i've had soo many trial and errors with eyeliner (hooded eye gang) but he figured out the 'cheat code' in like 2-3 rounds of trying...not gonna lie i'm kinda jealous and again soooo impressed with this process. you two never cease to amaze me and i've been binge watching your videos lately. love and greetings from austria!

Small hooded eye eyeliner tip for the comment peeps: I always make sure the angle/point of the cat eye lines up with the end of my eyebrow! From there just fill in a “slope” or “incline” down to your eyelash line! The size of the wing will end up changing based on how far your line from the eyelash line to the eyebrow point is! I’ve noticed it helps me keep my wings symmetric! Hope this makes sense LOL basically in nerd triangle logic, triangle hypotenuse goes from inner eye corner to the end of your eyebrow, length of the opposite (eyelash line to wing tip) will line up to end of eyebrow and determine size of wing/angle, adjacent is your eyelash line!
