The “Chicago made” amp that you couldn’t remember the name of is an Ampower Model 80 from c.1947. I have one too, and it’s a killer amp. One of the first amps with tremolo, has a varitone-type switch. The only amp they ever made, which is a shame.

Came across your channel awhile back, started binge watching videos, because I dig the modding, and old components. Have a 1968 Kustom amp, and an early Ampeg VT-40 that I inherited, which both need repair. Hoping to learn more. Also decided to get back into learning guitar, after like 20 years, lol. Now I have a new addiction, is all your fault.

I have the same issue. I have acquired more amps than I care to count. I made an offer to a pharmacy that was remodelling and picked up a dozen heavy duty wire racks 18" deep. They line the walls of 2 rooms I use to build and repair Guitars, Amps, and effects. These shelves are a great way to organize your gear, or your basement.

I use a Two Notes digital reactive loadbox for recording, it has the capability of loading amp impulse responses (IR's). My first thought when seeing all those nice vintage amps/combos, was that I'd love to own the IR's for those amps/combos. I'm sure a company like Two Notes Audio Engineering would love to have the impulse responses for the amps that you own Guitologist. Just a thought, but, you could maybe get in touch with them and they could do you a deal for the impulse responses for those amps/combos.

I've had to do similar things to manage my guitar gear. Have a similar number of amps, but more contemporary and varied in size. I've used the wire shelving from "The Shelving Store" to create custom dimension double decker guitar storage. I've got one wire shelf tower I found at Lowes that I use for amps, just holds 5 small tube amps, but I was googling "amp shelving" when this video appeared. I'm in the same boat now, i.e "maximum density" but I'll soon be looking to see how I can squeeze one more amp, a Supro 1622RT into the house. Anyway, nice collection and nice clean-up job.

Hi Brad. I've been watching your videos for a litte while now, from France, love your channel, I wanted to thank you for all the really useful informations you bring. I own a Triumph 60, combo that has been turn into a head by a former owner, and I try to gather knowledge to tweak and maintenance it by myself. What a surprise to see that you have one too ! As you tell, a decent amount of gain at your fingertips ! At any rate (as you seem to use this expression once or twice a video), I just finished to rewire the footswitch for this amp. If you're interested in photos or schematics, I have all this. Just in case... Keep on with all this, Brad, thank you for all your help, and for now, take care. PS: sorry for the poor english of a south-western french guy...

I have a Hofma that looks like this guitar you show at 16:22 and it really sounds bassish. It's a folk acoustic guitar model of some sort. They are actually made to sound low like this, the thicker body resonates better with long wavelengths. I personally don't like nylon strings but this guitars are great with metal strings.

@11:39 Look into getting a RAID hard drive setup. Basically it's 2- infinity harddrives setup like barber pole, mirror and stripes. Even with a 2 drive array you still have a copy. The redundancy is a safety and size factor and the cards aren't that expensive ie $20 for a 4 drive card and up.

how cool Brad you has an elector. In 82 I think I bought for $25 a electric guitar tube amp it was so I remember correctly it had like a white wood veneer and I remember things shaped sort of like the oldlarge jukeboxes and yeah it was my only tube amp I have around. And when I move to California it got stolen in shipping somehow was killed me. I didn't realize that amp went to the forties I thought it was from the fifties sometime yeah and they don't somebody that guitar that went along with that if I'm not mistaken cool the first time I've ever heard mention of that amp

I get a big kick out of your 'supervisor' always keeping a close eye on you. Great to see family involvement!!

For the side wall triples and back wall pair of shelves you can share legs between the 2/3 sets and not have pairs of legs side by side taking up room. It also stiffens them up when you link them together.

Well, this is better than me moving to a smaller place a parting company with 3 amps. Sure, cheap stuff (crate gx65, vox PF and peavey SP112) but i loved 'em. Geez, less than $150 for all of them.

This was so much fun to see, thanks Brudda. That’s such a nice space, I didn’t realize you had a basement. Never really seen a house with a basement. Wish I had so much extra space. My wife has one of those stand-up runnin clothes hangers too. Yours doesn’t have clothes on it like ours though...

No clothes YET! Give it time. I'll end up gluing sandpaper to the tread by the end and getting some kind of use from the damned thing.

Alright, that is why I hang around here, for comments like that about the sandpaper... Now that was freaking funny!!! Seriously, you should see ours, I told the other half that I would never set foot on the damn thing and she said oh, I’ll use it every day... right... TO HANG HER CLOTHES ON! Hell, my grand baby Allison has more miles on it from riding on her tricycle and bicycle on it than the wife does walking... I never thought about a giant sanding machine, you are a genius!

Come up to Canada where it's cold, eh. Basements are very common - I still get puzzled when I see a home build or reno show where they DON"T do a basement.

Guy, we have real cold here too. Anytime my heatpump won’t work is too cold for me. :-) Usually about 55°F . I have a pair of jeans if I need them. As far as basements go, I want one but most of them that they try to build turn into sinkholes. Seriously, we have so much sugar sand, some folks call it graveyard sand, if you dig one shovelful, two slide back in. If you tried to dig a basement, the contractor would have to dig up an entire building lot to get deep enough to get to floor level.

Ok, I can understand that. We have a lot of rock where I live, so you get some strange basements - huge rocks taking up substantial parts of a basement. "real cold" - 55F?! Wow. This morning it was -39C. Since the F and C scales meet at -40, we would be approximately -39F. THAT's cold.

That Peavey head is pretty cool . If you need a slightly better footswitch checkout eBay there's a guy who makes old vintage amp footswitch 6 prong style or standard 1/4 jack too. Pretty sure hebuilds them for your Peavey too.
