My Hair Growth Journey (Relaxed Hair)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I struggled with dry, damaged, breaking hair that only grew to a certain length and in my late teens I decided I wanted to try different things with my hair and so cut it short. I had a lot of fun with it throughout the years and enjoyed various different hair styles. However, I still battled with the same problem. In September 2007, I decided enough was enough and that I needed to take back control of my hair and started deeply researching into black hair, on a mission to find a solution to a lifelong problem and in October 2007, my hair growth journey began.
I had no idea how this journey would end up, since I was applying methods I had never used before. But one thing I knew was that I wanted longer, stronger, healthier hair and I was determined that I was going to do everything possible to achieve my goal no matter what it took.
Within the 3 and a half years, I managed to successfully grow my hair longer than it has ever been in all my life and have since been enjoying the long hair I'd always dreamt of.
So ladies, if you looking to turn your hair results around then I'm here to help you. I am here to share my knowledge and experiences with you, to help you achieve similar results.
Please check 'My Hair Growth Regime Summary' video to see how I achieved this; • My Hair Growth Regime ...

I hate when ppl get on women bout relaxing their hair.....especially other women. You say its unhealthy yet you eat processed foods everyday. Being relaxed doesn't make me any less black. I still knw where i come from I just prefer my hair to be managable

Ppl are so negative sheesh. Good job ! Natural isn't for everyone and this is coming from someone who has natural hair. Ppl who talk about how bad relaxers are probably didn't take care of their hair when it was relaxed. I have had bsl relaxed and natural because I know how to take care of my hair.

I had some hair damage from a bad experience from the hair salon not too long ago so I bought this to help my hair, the bad spots which were falling out plus the hair that was damaged. *This has made my thin hair appear a lot fuller and has made it very soft* Great Oil and looking forward to it helping my hair grow too!

ayyan ali Hope this helps. :) Her hair grows slowly because curly haired and dark-skinned women tend to have drier hair, especially the latter. The hair doesn't retain much moisture, if any, at all, and so with constant dryness the hair can't find the moisture it needs to stay strong and supple, especially at the ends of the hair, where it's more likely to be dry. Unlike fair skinned women whose hair is straighter and have the fortune of having their hair's sebum (the hair's natural oil that comes up from the scalp) moisturize their hair *for* them. So, while your hair may grow to your waist in no time flat, darker toned women don't have that luxury and it can take many, many years to reach waist length.

***** You could word what you say to people a lot nicer, just so you know. The keyword that I used was "tend" which was a simpler way of saying that not all darker skinned women go through the slower hair process. Indian women are known to take care of their early on, they even learn about these wonderful natural ways to do it from generations on. I was not saying that skin color had much to do with hair growth, but just basing it off the fact that many women *do* have difficulty growing their hair if they are darker skinned. I understand that on average hair grows 6" a year if taken care of properly, but a lot of women don't even get 3" in a year and that's with proper care. And just so you know, your telling Opal that hair can grow fast as long as the hair isn't relaxed is not true. Many a-woman who have relaxed hair have impeccable hair growth *because* they know how to take care of their hair in the state that it is in. We should be encouraging women who have natural or relaxed hair that they can grow their hair regardless of where they are in their hair journey. Meet them where they are. *shrugs* Hope you have a good night. :)

Lord...Reading these comments make me so sad. Your hair is beautiful the way nature intended it to be! Put those disgusting cancer causing relaxers DOWN! Natural hair not only grows a lot faster but it is MUCH healthier....so if you are truly on a mission for real "HAIR HEALTH" then you will stop this horrible hair practice. Embrace your true selves and I promise you your hair will thank you! ...And you wonder why your never grows past a certain length smh...this is why other races seem to grow hair faster. Not because it grows at a different rate but because we have been so brainwashed by society that everyone and their mama's want straight hair! Let's leave the straight hair for white ppl and get back to our curly roots!

White people get perms to have curly hair so it's not what type of style you like it's all about how you take care of it whether relaxed , permed , or natural length is achievable if you take care of it accordingly

hii i have a question. so my moms hair is relaxed but lately it is extremely extremely thin, it’s not dry, she moisturize it a LOT so it looks like a wet look all the time but it’s so thin and clumped together and not healthy it looks so damaged snd dead.. so, anyway, i want to help my moms hair bc i’ve been growing my natural 4c hair very much and it’s become healthy! but i’m not too sure what to do. :( (also i’m a teen) i want to give her a pamper day, what i was thinking was that I can wash her hair with shampoo/clarifying shampoo, and then my question is, should i use a deep conditioner to bring moisture, or a protein treatment? and then i will wash it out comb her hair oil her scalp put leave in and cream and braid it and i’m hoping it will help her hair

I lovr your hair! I have 2 questions tho i have a weave in atm and im wondering how long I should wait before I relax it (for the first time ever) my hear is too hard to manage and so leaving it out for weeks is not really an option. Is it okay to leave it for about 2/3 days? Lastly my hair ( when blowdryed) is kinda big and when brushed down goes just to my shoulder. Will the relaxer make it grow straight away? Or will it stay shoulder length? Thanks x
