California DMV is one of the thousands of reasons I left the state. Literally every other state has a better DMV that actually functions. It's shockingly better.

How do you only have 1,000 subs. Your channel has been phenomenal through all of this. Wishing you a ton of success and looking forward to your videos to come once this all clears up!!

Vins should not have the letter “O” in them for that exact reason, to not cause confusion with zeros. Hopefully your vin isn’t altered for some nefarious reason.

Exactly! No way it was done by the DMV. If you have the transfer of title or 262 from dealership you can clearly see they didn’t enter a “O” thus proving intentional fraudulent Vin tampering. Just adding to Clay’s mountain of charges. 😕

The 360 is a beautiful car. I’m sorry that you have to go through all this

The F1 pumps are known to be a weak spot as are the early pump relays. The relay contacts weld together causing the pump to run continuously and overheat (more). To reduce pump temp there is an aftermarket kit which includes cooling fins that wrap around the motor plus some ceramic paste to help heat transfer. Some suggest changing the relay annually.

Happy to hear you got the title cleared at the DMV. Hopefully the typo on the VIN will be easy for the DMV clerk to confirm and correct. Keep up the effort, soon you'll be zooming along in your dream car!

I gas up at the gas station next to CNC Motors and I had no idea this kind of shit has been going on there. Found out about it today and JFC the rabbit hole I've gone down today. Sorry it has been such a nightmare man.

The moral to this story is don’t pretend you know how something works, don’t trust car dealerships no matter how expensive their inventory is.

You need ‘a friend of ours’ to go and visit the garage and sort it all out in ten minutes

Make sure your registration VIN matches all the different VINS on the car.

Oh man, I feel for you - such an inauspicious beginning exacerbated by a dealer who did you dirty at every turn. I've been down this path with multiple F-cars (including a gated 360) and there's always another thing (unfortunately) especially if you have a touch of OCD like me. Good luck, I hope you get to enjoy her as she was intended from the factory & wipes away the months the stress and anxiety.

My 2004 Ferrari 360 had a bunch of issues. My 2004 Lamborghini Gallardo was super reliable. I sold it to a friend of mine and he has been abusing it the past 6 months and is still running great without issue.

This whole process looks super easy, barely an inconvenience. 🙃 But really, FFS this is a crazy story. Good luck on everything!

This is why you buy through an authorized, franchise dealership for the brand of exotic car you want to purchase. You can maybe find a car for a little cheaper at an independent dealership, but you never know what you're getting, the car hasn't been properly inspected, etc. The extra money you will pay to an authorized dealership will be worth it when you consider the headaches you can avoid. Not trying to kick anyone while they are down, just trying to share some advice for others.

Hi Matt. Be very careful who you select to fix the transmission. I paid about 15k to a very reputable SF specialist only to realize that he really did not understand the issue and was basically randomly replacing expensive parts. When he told me that I needed to replace the clutch next, I knew I had to go elsewhere. I found out then that he did not have the diagnostic computer that can determine clutch wear. SF Motorsports determined that the failure was in the pressure sensor. (The accummulator was also replaced.) As a problem solving technique, I suggest you try shifting the car in your garage with the engine off. The F1 pump should come on every 2-3 shifts. If it doesn't then there is an issue of pressurizing your system.

I feel for ya Matt... KEEP FIGHTING... you'll get there and it will be worth it.

As an owner of a 360, I can assure you that the car will never be 100% sorted. They are a rapidly aging platform. Things I have had to tackle. Fuel Pumps, Roll Over Valves, Exhaust ECU's, Cam Gear, and the list goes on and on. I have been following your story brother. You have to be handy yourself to change things out, or the exotic mechanics will eat you alive. Also on your startup, something didn't sound right. Was that a cold start? My cold starts are a lot more pronounced and my timing seems more advanced, if that makes sense.

You need a local Ferrari guy that does work on the side that works from home and hook you up with a deal

I thought only zero’s in VIN numbers and not the letter o. Ferrari’s have the letter o’s in the VIN’s?

Matt, consider yourself VERY lucky. I know all of the DMV crap is a pain-in-the-butt but thank goodness you have DMV crap to go through! Just think where you'd be now if there had been a lien on the car and the title was still with the lien holder. Imagine dealing with your Bank through that scenario!

Clay is a crook

I had a 360 spider with some issues too. Salerno in Rocklin is a place I would recommend or if you can drive a little bit further the absolute Ferrari guru in the South Bay is Roselli in San Jose. My 360 used to burn the brake switch and it would put the gearbox light on always. Roselli fixed it...

Check out Gary's story on Dan's channel... The Vin "mistake" 0 - O sounds a lot like how CnC changed an S to a 5 on his lol I imagine clays doing this to create more problems and buy some more time

FYI Florida have no emissions test. So glad you got your title cleared and the CDMV did the release.

At 8:00 sometimes the root of your issues with cars can be electrical! I work on older Benz and currently tackling a Corvette with wiring issues and it causes a lot of gremlins to malfunction. If they “allegedly” worked on it and nothing was wrong, perhaps your issue lies in wiring. Corrosion on grounds and/or low voltage/ open circuits on harnesses can cause shift issues. I would say if mechanically it sounds and works well perhaps your problem lays there. Again I might be wrong but it might be worth a try! Good luck with your 360 bro

I really hope Clay from CNC is watching these videos and while I know it’s highly unlikely, I hope he has gained some perspective for how his actions are impacting people. As a business owner myself, I especially feel for this particular situation. I know what sort of sacrifice, discipline, and patience is involved in building a business to a point where you can finally reward yourself with your dream car. For this to have happened is just beyond unacceptable and it’s heartbreaking. I really hope that once the car has been sorted, it brings you enough joy that all of this BS just becomes a distant memory and maybe even a funny story that you get to tell fellow car enthusiasts... That sucks! DMW seems useless to many people. It's easier to work with the bank as long as you make payments. I'm not in that situation, but it seems to me that someone would have to pay a visit to CNC and rough them up. I'm really shocked that Clay (CNC owner) is not in jail.

I know it's far from you, but Robert and his team have been working on exotics since 1972. Roselli Foreign Car Repair 390 Lincoln Ave San Jose CA 95126. I'm fortunate in that I am only 3 miles from him in Willow Glen.

Interested to know if the computer behind the front wheel has anything to do with your shifting problem? If you are at all handy, you may want to look and see if you can secure the computer and or wiring harness away from the fan and just see if possibly that fixes the shift issue. You may have a single wire that the fan chewed up.

Feel sorry for you dude! You need to sue, the time and damage they have done need to be recovered!

Exotic car ownership = maintenance required when you drive it and maintenance required if you don't. Adding the purchase drama to that puts you in a bit of a hole out the gate. On top of all that, prior owner/shops deferred the crap out of the maintenance it would seem. You got the trifecta. But I appreciate the story, reminds me why I am not pulling the trigger on such a purchase yet. Its not the price on the window that get you, its the tail expenses. If you factor in the value of your time, you will be 150% or more of the purchase price into it before its sorted out.

Seems like a pretty archaic system in the US. In New Zealand we do all of that car registration stuff online. No queueing up. Seems like you guys are still in the 70s.
