I think you mean Slide Guitar. It's a technique, not an instrument type; though they are commonly used together. Bravo for offering up the answer though, I came to the comments to answer it too.

Chrystian Cutright slide is the "style" and steel is the "instrument". You can slide play most guitars to some level. Steel guitars come in lap, pedal and traditional styles.

I’m a 36 year old man, and I’ve been weeping like a baby over this song since I was 10 years old. I’ve lost several loves over the years, and this song just gets deeper meaning by the year.

Tissue? you needed a tissue? What kind of a man are you? Don't get me wrong I cry like a big fat man baby every time I've heard this song for the last 28 years....but I don't use a tissue :-)

I prayed like that when my 3 month old daughter had pneumonia in the ICU. She was struggling just to breath. I prayed the very hardest I've ever prayed in my entire life. I'm 43 and this song puts that dust right in my eye every time. Children change a man.

Country music is about real life and things that are relative to real life experiences. Not always but most of the time. It comes from the heart Vince Gill wrote and sang a song called Go Rest High on the Mountain and that was about his brother that passed away. Listen to it 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

That's a great song. Vince has an incredible voice. She should listen to Home Free's cover of that song once she hears the original. Definitely should hear Vince's version, the original version, first before the cover by Home Free, but those guys do a great job on it.

@@MattPhizzle YES! Both, but the original first. Home Free's version is spectacular, but no-one compares to Vince on most every Vince Gill song.

Tim is so young in this video. He still sings songs that touch my and others hearts. Goosebumps!! Still tears me up realizing just how blessed my life has been.

I love how the meaning of the same phrase "Don't take the girl" changes as we get older. From the meaning of anybody else but her to let me be with her the rest of my life.

Incredible song and reaction, tear up every time. Notice the lady at the end with a picnic basket, that was Johnny’s wife and the baby is Johnny Jr. I also enjoy his song Please Remember Me. Another tear jerker is Alan Jackson, Remember When, but in a happy way.

Darlin you need to listen to Kieth Whitley "when you say nothing at all" and "don't close your eyes" this man is probably the most purest voice in country music!! Please give him a listen!!

If you do Concrete Angel bring tissues. In fact, if you're reacting to a country song that isnt blatantly upbeat you should bring tissues just incase.

Don't know where you are young lady, but I an a 63 year old form northwest South Carolina Raised on this kind of music since the 1960s. Ove my life I have listened to all types of music, but country will always have my heart.

This song always hits me right in the heart. Tim McGraw is definitely one of country music's Giants. I own everything Tim's released that I've been able to get my hands on! PEACE!!!!!

That song was released in the same month I said good-bye to my father to Cancer. One of the things he said to me in his final days was he hoped I would live my life as if today was my last.... something that stays with me 16 years later and still makes the song hurt.

The Steel guitar makes country music!

That sound you like so much is called a steel guitar. Country music uses it quite a bit. 80's and 90's country is some of the best country music.

Tim McGraw "Humble and Kind"; beautifully edited video (the official version with Oprah's video not the live version) and a worthy message. Not sad, but beautiful enough to bring one to tears.

Oh yes- “Where’ve you been” is a great one!

My wife and I had our first child, a little girl and a day after we came home, my wife said she didnt feel well. We rushed her to the hospital and they admitted her. Her blood pressure was extremely high. It was preaclampsia. After two days, she came out if it...barely. I told Mother Nature if she took my wife, I'd burn this planet down and my daughter and I would rebuild it in my wifes image.

A must reaction. Vince Gill- Go rest high on that mountain. He wrote the song after the passing of his brother in 1993. Note a line in the song- no stranger to the rain- a song by Keith Whitley who passed in 1989.

That my Dear is a pedal Steel Guitar : ) I think I mentioned on here before that my husband passed at 37 last December, well I am proud to say he was a phenomenal steel guitar player, it was his job. Its a totally beautiful instrument

That sound, the pedal steel, is dying out.

This was one of the first song that I really remembered getting to my emotions. My parents were big country music fans and this was very popular on the country radio station here in California. It made me so sad. And I remember as a kid feeling so relieved when I finally saw the video and realized that she lived and that's the girl in the very end.

I love that Tim didnt actually show or say if the mother died or not. It allows us to choose our own ending in our heads.

I knew my wife since I was 8 years old, I reconnected with her 11 years later and it was a beautiful relationship, we faced adversity and then we had a kid and she didn’t think she could, but prayer was great. Then her and my baby died in a car accident and that call from police changed my life, I was with friends and then I isolated myself and did many drugs and gambled and after losing all my money, I became homeless. But I’m thankful to God for not giving up on me, so I work for Him full time now and I’m still homeless, no money, but He provides. So this song definitely is close to me, but not spot on. I don’t know if I could ever love a woman as much as I did her, but I know love God more than any woman and that’s what keeps me going. God bless

It's a beautiful story of a father teaching his son about life. And life experiences. And the fact the father used his to teach his son way they can't leave the girl behind and how each stage of life the woman plays a different role in a mans life

My brother and I used to sing this song to our girlfriends growing up. One day he got into an accident and the momeng I saw him with tubes cominv out of his body, I blanked out and everyone in the room told me I hit my knees and repeated the last verse. He was out of the hospital in 2 weeks. Our bond has never been stronger.

When someone can go from being so self centered as a child to not even let the girl go fishing to then be willing to self sacrifice your own life for the same person. Amazing and beautiful....happy, good. Thats truly being successful in life.

Lost my mom, sister and aunt when I was 5. My father and grandmother were also in the car but survived. My understanding of what my father said when he regained consciousness was something similar. Then they asked him to decide whether my 3 y.o. sister should be put on life support. That was 40 years ago, he still blames himself. To me to this song is my Dad

The use of steel guitars in country western music is a stable of this genre. Especially the pedal steel guitar. Love this song goes from sad to cry like a baby. Brad's video for "Waiting on a woman". Love the cameo. Brad seems to get a lot of big name actors in his videos.

Country music especially songs from the 80’s and 90’s do tell stories and I believe there’s a country song for almost every emotion. I grew up on country music of the 90’s and I love it.
