As an EXO-l and casual NCT fans, I do think your music taste might be more into some of the NCT songs compared to EXO. But the thing is, NCT's music are very diverse, so you will love some and probably hate some. Also, considering the time you took to remember every EXO member's faces, I think you're gonna need a whole year to remember 23 of them lol

I feel like a group‘s music being diverse is one of THE selling points that got me into kpop - both BTS and EXO (who are the groups who I know most individual songs by, I’d guess) have super diverse discographies with tons of different genres - I love that! 💖 I love being able to discover new music styles through the voices I’ve grown familiar with, and get introduced to genres I might‘ve not listened to otherwise! That’s also why I find it so funny when I hear someone say „I don’t like Kpop (as a music gerne)“, because hidden under the „Kpop“-tag can be ANYTHING! I remember on the BTS subreddit there used to be a list of dozens of genres, along the lines of „if you like jazz - try these songs:“ 👏🏻 Regarding how long it‘d take me to remember all their faces - I guess that’s written in the stars 😅 With BTS it was about two or three months of constantly watching their stuff, meanwhile with exo it took a year - but in that year I only watched one piece of content every one or two weeks, and apart from the guide and solo releases, there wasn’t much indication of who‘s who in those videos 🤔 meanwhile with twice I know half their names and faces without ever trying, they just stuck from being in the kpop world, even though I never caught up with their discography 🤷🏼‍♀️ with NCT, we’ll see… I definitely won’t do a new NCT reaction EVERY week, bcs I also still got a bunch of things I wanna check out for EXO, and a lot of other videos I wanna make,… we‘ll see if I end up getting into NCT, and if I will, we‘ll see how it goes 👀 I typically never try to „study“ the groups bcs it often ends up feeling like work and turning me off, so I tend to just consume the content that catches my eye and some faces or names might stick✨

@@Landyra well the difference between EXO and NCT is that EXO use a wide range of genres in their music, yeah they have some experimental songs too but they often use more genres that naturally can be together, that don't need a second chance to like, but NCT in the other hand, is on another level of experimental sound, their music is like "mmmm I need to listen it 2-3 more times" and when it's grows up in you, your going to be obsessed by their music. Plus even if NCt have amazing vocals, what difference them between other SM groups, is that they have strong rappers and they use it a lot

Your NCT journey will be amazing, as well. NCT has tons of experimental super-great songs like EXO. More futuristic and their genre is just NCT.

NCT as a whole is big group. But it’s easy to catch up if you can focus for each unit time by time. NCT 127 - 9 members NCT DREAM - 7 members WAYV - 7 members NCT U - Rotational (everyone keep changing)

@@Landyra WayV is the chinese sub unit of NCT that mainly promote in China. I believe it has something to do with the political situation between China and Korea that they decided to forgo with the usual “NCT” that all sub units had carried in their name, using “WayV” instead.

NCT has sooo many dance practices! as well as raw song recordings in the studio. you should check them out. very talented and fun group of boys, you really never get bored lol

He's often in the center of NCT 127, NCT U and NCT performances. 17:30 He's the youngest here. 20:34 He's really pretty, you should see him in Halloween costumes Titanic Rose and Twilight Bella.. LOL.. Him (Taeyong) 16:54, him (Mark) 17:20, and him (Lucas) 18:14 with EXO's KAI and Baekhyun are in the same group SUPERM. SUPERM is SM group that promotes in the US. 2 members of EXO, 4 members of NCT and 1 member of SHINee are in the group.

Hello! I'm an ARMY who had started getting into NCT a few months ago. I too was hesitant to stan due to the number of members, but it didn't take me too long to learn who each of them were. The way I went about doing so, was that I got to know each of the NCT subunits one at a time, rather than trying to learn all 23 members at once and overwhelm myself. I first listened to NCT 127 songs and watched guide videos about them, and then once I felt confident about identifying who was who, I then went onto NCT Dream, and so on. Maybe that learning method could help you. I really hope you take the time to get to know them, because they're such a talented and charismatic group. One fo the main things that I like about them, is that they always experiment with their music and no two comebacks seem to really sound the same (which is not surprising, since their group name stands for Neo Culture Technology). Although not everyone may like every single song they release, they have a variety of sounds to appeal to different people with different tastes.

if u enjoy rap a lot i recommend Misfit - NCT U misfit is basically some of nct's rappers combined (an only rap song). i also recommend KICK IT - NCT 127 , Hello Future - NCT DREAM and TAKE OFF - WayV !! NCT U are very versatile because (NCT U stands for nct united) the lineup changes for each comeback. basically all of the members of nct (23) can be in this unit. it depends on who fits the concept better so the people in Make A WIsh weren't all in Boss and vice versa.

I like your description of youthful and sassy for Mark's tone, it's quite fitting! He's my favorite rapper of the group, and a big part of what drew me in apart from his skill was his voice. I love it!

It blends really well with how their songs are written and not to mention the vocals that can and will blow your mind every time. We can't forget mark and taeyong's rapping ofcourse. And I noticed that you said Taeyong(red haired guy in Boss) has a stage presence and you weren't wrong. If I had to compare him to any member of EXO I'd say he's close to Kai in terms of stage presence. Fun fact he's also in the same group with Kai on SuperM along with Mark, Lucas(tall guy with deep voice on Boss) and another NCT member named Ten which is on NCT WayV(the Chinese sub-unit)

I‘m a bit nervous to „expose“ myself to a new fandom after getting used to the same „faces“ in my comment section for so long 🥺 that being said, I’m also super excited to expand my knowledge and playlist, and to get to know new people 🥰 NCT was a safe choice though, I think! others will probably have told you this but "nct u" consists of all 23 nct members. each song has a different lineup of members. these 2 songs happened to have 4 overlapping members. also @17:10, your feeling was right. for me he has the most impressive stage presence ive ever seen :) its like kai but in a different way

Don’t beat yourself up over it 🤗 I just read a bunch of comments about how much „work“ it‘ll be to get to know all members and it was kinda funny in a way… I just remembered how many western groups I used to like and how I never even considered „learning“ their names as if I was about to take an exam about the group‘s background info 😅 just enjoy the music and consume the content you‘re interested in, and some faces and names might stick automatically - as for the others, learn them if you feel like it, but don’t feel like it‘s a competition✨

As for how to remember them, I recommend going by units (127, Dream, WayV), that way, it doesn't feel like a lot. We have 2 new members who don't have units (yet) and the two songs you watched are NCT U, a rotational unit any member can take part in. Either way, I hope you end up liking NCT too, SM groups are all amazing ^^

🤩I literally screamed when I saw you had a reaction to Make A Wish posted! I think that's my favorite song of theirs (definitely my new official Birthday Song 😃) - I also many more favs (gotta whole fav playlist of them 😊). I'm glad you finally got around to reacting to NCT, I've been waiting for this! Not only agreeing with others in that I think you'll like their style, but I also think you would like the production and editing of their videos. (I know you won't like every single one, but still..) Anyways I'm overjoyed to hear that you are "sold" 😀 Yes! there is a dance practice to Make A Wish as well as a behind the scenes video (which is a pretty fun watch), AND if you happen to like orchestra music, check out SM's Classic Town Orchestra's version of it. I first heard Cherry bomb and Kick It back in 2019 and then in 2020 I started down the rabbit hole with them as well. 😅 Just enjoy the music and videos,, don't worry about the getting the names right away. Shoot, the only one I know right now is Mark (he's the rapper that you said sounded young.) You'll know him soon enough as he's the only one that's in every sub-unit lol! As many songs of theirs that I have on my Playlist, you'd think I would know them by now, but I'm more of a listener than a MV watcher. I’m actually more of a listener aswell, but if I see there’s an MV available for a song I wanted to check out anyways, I try to watch it at least once! While I don’t really have the time to watch MVs super frequently, the visuals definitely help me to get into a new song better and start forming a bond with it~ also I wanna add I’m very relieved to read from many of these comments that both casual and enthusiastic nct fans seem to be rather chill about getting to know the members 🙏🏻✨ I personally never stress myself about trying to learn names or faces when getting into a new group, but the comments about it are sometimes rough.. so I feel relieved to learn many nctizens(?) share my casual approach to getting into a new group and so the same! PS: I’m considering doing the same format for the other subunits, but I’m not sure yet because filming and editing double-reactions takes forever unfortunately 🙃

Loved your reactions. I had the notion that Landy will like NCT music videos as I have been seeing your reactions on EXO since the day you started. I watch NCT music videos (all sub-units). But never tried to know the members as I will not be able to remember all of them (except those who are with WayV & SuperM). But I find NCT music videos of very good quality (a complete package) when it comes to visuals, dance choreo, props & accessories used, make-up, lighting, etc. Good to see your reaction. Watch out NCT 127 music videos too. You will like it.

Yes but also no - agreed that SM is known for their polished vocals, however I’d also argue that „good“ vocals aren’t necessarily a „good“ voice, and the other way around! 🤔 what makes a voice „good“ is highly subjective to begin with; for example there‘s people who enjoy interesting voices that stray from the norm, while others might find these annoying or even grating to listen to! 👀 personally, I tend to prefer a deep or otherwise interesting voice - which is for example why Jungkook, who tends to be the most universally praised for his technique in BTS, wouldn’t go into my personal top 3 voices within BTS (even though he’s my bias)

@@Landyra SM is the Powerhouse of vocals. That includes tone and technique. No other company is even close. Personal preference is one thing but fact is another. By the way Jungkook is the best vocalist in BTS. SM has the best vocalists in k pop (some in NCT).

@@MrsNiaboo2000 that's exactly what I was getting at! voices ARE personal preference, meanwhile facts can be applied (by professionals) to how singers USE those voices! vocalists are typically measured by their delivery; technique and tone, both which can be trained and influenced - and which Jungkook is typically the highest praised member in BTS for, which is why I picked him as an example for someone with a good technique, yet not a voice that particularly stands out to me by itself (even though I still love it obvs, I just find others to match my taste better). But being a good or even the best vocalist doesn't mean people will necessarily enjoy your VOICE more. What someone perceives as a good or "bad" voice is fully subjective and cannot be factually measured, meanwhile vocal delivery can be judged by professionals to some extend - of course delivery can still be subjectively judged, but here there's parameters at which people can actually start comparing objectively if they so please. tl;dr - when I mentioned the good voice, I was talking about the voice itself, not the technique - I'm pretty nonchalant regarding technique (and not qualified to judge either way) as long as the music is fun i don't care much for technique, and I personally take an interesting voice or unexpected delivery over objectively top-notch vocals any day ^^ ps: I can't agree or disagree on sm having the best vocals, as I'm not educated the judge. I've heard their vocals being praised a lot, so i don't doubt they are the "kpop powerhouse of vocals" - i just wanted to clarify that I'm not interested in getting involved in comparing vocal skill between idols - i leave that to the professionals or people who at least actually have an ear (or care) for it. i don't 😅 I just care about the music sounding subjectively good to my casual ears!

Nct’s songs are super anti mainstream. I’m so into this kind of music, so nct is the best answer. And besides, they’re full package. Looks good and sounds good. Really hope that you can fall for them even more ✌🏻

I’ll check them out aswell! 🙏🏻✨ I knew about them, but I always thought they were a separate group under SM (probably because the other subunits have “NCT” in the name), as I’m now aware they‘re a part of NCT, I’ll give them a try during my NCT-discovery aswell!

NCT is all about music and Dance. There are lots and lots of Dance practice for you to check and different genres of music to experience. And then there's also the NCT Genre itself.

NCT DREAM- the youngest members belong to this unit (not counting Shotaro, who appeared in Make a Wish, and Sungchan, who you haven't seen yet, they joined a year ago and are waiting for their unit) NCT 127- you read as one, two, seven, initially it was supposed to be an older unit composed of Korean members and one Japanese - Yuta, in addition also people from DREAM who would reach a certain age should join 127, but DREAM's fans of the original line-up, wouldn't love it and SM stopped doing it (only Mark and Heachan joined 127 and tnow are in both units) WayV-unit aimed mainly at the Chinese market NCT U- this is not a regular unit, so far there were only "NCT 2018" and "NCT 2020" albums. Here are everyone, there can be members of different units in each song. NCT debuted in 2016. Currently, NCT has 23 members and another unit is to be established. As for the relationship between SM and NCT - NCT has a lot more than EXO, they have dance practice for every title track, generally they have everything, lots of different series, in general NCT has it all and EXO has nothing when it comes to promotion and content. Really, being EXOL gets a bit boring, and not because they're on a hiatus right now. They just don't have that much, and NCT has it all. Just check their KZread channels, there are probably 7.

Thanks for trying to share some knowledge with me, but I’m afraid we‘ll have to take the hard route and hammer it into my head by repetition and me getting more accustomed to this new world 🙃 the one thing that stuck (mainly because I already suspected it) was the last part about their promotions - I’m quite active on the Kpop subreddit whenever I got time and I feel like I scroll past a NCT-tagged thread every minute 😅

Glad you also like NCT 😊. Im an EXOL but we also listen to some NCT songs. Hope you can check SUPER M as well in the future. Their members are from 3 SM boy group ( Taemin of Shinee, Kai and Baekhyun of EXO and Mark, Ten, Lucas and Taeyong of NCT). They are described as “ Avengers of Kpop”. 😊

Most of SM groups have high talented vocal like, and ofcourse great rap + dance line too but since they all can sing, they do harmonies, which is a rare thing done in kpop.

Taeyong the red hair guy definitely is one of the idol that have the best face expression n stage present in kpop

Jungwoo voice is so Aww. SM always make catchy songs btw!

thank you for reacting to NCT!! Just a heads up for ur future reactions to nct!! They're is very hiphop based, however, they do LOVE some switch ups at the bridge towards the end filled with beautiful vocals tho sometimes the changes feel very sudden to anyone who isn't really used to NCT's experimental song producing. It's alright if it's hard to understand at first and you feel like you don't like the song, because they just have that chatchiness that makes you wanna listen again, and the more you listen, the more you like it! (that's kinda the universal reaction everytime nct has a comeback. That's were an inside joke that "you gotta let nct songs them marinate" comes from). I recommend you check out "Favorite (vampire)" by NCT 127, "Hello Future" by NCT DREAM, "Kick Back" by WayV and NCT 2020 "Resonance" the mv with all the members at the moment. Though it's more of a mashup of some 2020 NCT U songs together and a dance performance than a regular song, it's still worth checking out! NCT U is probably the easiest unit to get into, since they go with very different styles each comeback and brings a mix of members from each unit that fits the concept of the song, this makes the members shine in songs practically tailored for them. If they want hiphop they bring in the rappers, if they want ballad they bring in the main vocalists and excell at them. NCT 127 (pronounced one two seven) is arguably the most experimental out of all NCT units, their sound is a lot more electronic and mixed (most prime example of their abrupt song switch ups are from 127), they usually go for hard hitting and powerful title tracks. NCT DREAM is composed by some of the youngest members of NCT, they debuted at a very young age so their concept was very fresh and cute, however, as they grew older their concepts have matured along with them, tho still with a youthful twist. Between their debut and their last song theres such a drastic difference that is hard to believe they're the same group. WayV is their 4th and newest unit, they're based in China so most of of the members are of nationality or speak Chinese and of course, their music is in mandarin (sometimes in english). Even though the language they sing in is mandarin they still have the kpop sound that ties them to nct. They usually go for more sexy and hard hitting songs. anddddd NCT has projects where the whole group, every sub unit comes together to create an album. Ofc not everyone sings together in one song so they do an album full of NCT U songs, where all the members shine in new combinations in smaller groups. During some of these projects new members join NCT. All these projects are: NCT 2018 (with 18 members/3 units at the time) NCT 2020 (with 23 members/4 units) and just yesterday they announced another one, NCT 2021 coming up in December!!!

I feel the same way, but I also see ALL the comments, so I know there‘s people who think different :/ i guess the issue with these people is often language barrier / misunderstanding OR prejudice -> they expect me to have bad intentions, so they interpret whatever I say as a negative remark.. unfortunately, with these people it doesn’t really matter what I do, they often leave their comments without even watching the video in the first place.. but I always try to do my best to make my positive intentions clear and work towards a supportive Kpop community, no matter the fandom 🤗✨

@@Landyra hey, it's your channel you an do whatever you want, plus, you are using BTS comparison because you know BTS and it's makes easier for you to remember things. I mean, it's not necessary that you apologize every time that you talk about you favs if you are being polite and without bad intentions to the other groups. As a kpoper since 2010, I feel really sad that the people that wanna learn about kpop need to be this "limited" about what they say.....

with NCT a lot of songs take multiple plays to grow on you. there newest stucker I didnt like it for a week and now I love it!!! Mark Lee who is in NCT 127 and NCT Dream is one of the best rappers is Kpop and when him and Taeyong rap together it is just music to your ears especially in this song.

NCT U - is a rotate unite of all 23 members. The guy u said have child/sassy voice is Mark. U will see him in almost every nct unit +superm xD I would recommend u to check out nct127 next. I think u would click with that unit the most (Tho I myself click the most with dream songs) ^^ Also u can also check out Misfit from nct u.

@Landyra I think many would recommend u to Kick it,Cherry bomb or their latest songs like sticker or favorite. For sticker might sound weird for new listeners (it's weird for many nctzen too) Personally I would recommend to Regular which both WayV and 127 did it. And for 127 I prefer Limitless, Punch, Simon says and ye Favorite. Also the b-side of the last album Lemonade.

Hi! Im a czennie (NCTzen aka nct fandom)💚 my first time here and I'm excited to see your discovery of NCT! I hope you end up diving in and seeing all their facets! You really liked Jaemin (white hair deep voice) and he is a member of NCT Dream (where my bias Jeno is) so Im hoping you give them a chance even if they have certain songs that were targetted for a younger audience. Since NCT Dream debut when they were age 14-17 and they are now age 20-23 it's actually adorable to watch their progress. So my suggestion is to watch their MVs in chronological order to watch them change from kids to grown men 💚💚

I bcme Their fan after watching Make a wish and kick it it was my first mv watching to thm. I too avoided nct bcus of many members but now looking at it actually it doesnt bother its easy to remember their names n faces bcus they promote it unit wise.

I‘ve been trying to explore kpop groups no matter the popularity for years, but there‘s just SO MANY - and many of them have endless discographies. I first listened to BTS in 2016 and became a full fledged ARMY in 2018 - yet I’m far from having heard all their works to date, there‘s hundreds of official songs, solos, unofficial releases,… EXO is another group with what feels like a bottomless discography - and meanwhile I can only stomach one or two new songs every few days or I feel like I’m mindlessly consuming without giving the songs time to grow on me and make an impact x.x

It's completely fine to explore on your own pace of course!

I love seeing people getting sucked in by Taeyong's Charm, VISUALS, charisma, presence,deep voice and rap and of course dancing

make a wish is the perfect song to introduce nct in my opinion. its a masterpiece. by the way, as an editor i would recommend all of wayvs MVs (as they are for the chinese market, which means gorgeous editing)
