It would be cool if it was like a tower defense gamemode where you place peices as the game goes on and captured peices gain points to spend on material

For anyone who's wondering, a 3 dimensional rectangle is just a square cylinder, lol. Or a rectangular prism if you want to get technical.

The problem with knights is they can be slow and take quite a few moves to reach their maximum potential. If you have too many knights you are choked in terms of the moves you can make to have them become valuable. I've had games of chess where I didn't even need to develop my bishops to have them contribute to the game. For the same to be true with knights is very rare. Clearly you were going with the synergy between closed positions and knights which was pretty interesting

If rectangles of same dimensions are stacked upon one another keeping their vertices aligned, it becomes a 3D figure known as CUBOID.

Eric, you should challenge GothamChess to that position where you think the engine lost it. I'd like to see how to play it out by a couple of masters that are fun to watch. Also, I'd love it if you did more games like this, I would never have known the winning move was to walk your king in.

I think since you only get 8 pawns per side, I'd load up on bishops instead (and of course not have a rectangle in that case). Eric didn't know that of course, so a bunch of pawns and some knights was a good initial thought IMO.
