Hipster moment of the day. I played fog of war well before the streamers. I noticed it right after the update and couldn't stop playing. It's a fun strategy to work through. I tend to like setups that are above all else about coordination rather than position or material/exchanges. Every move must be protected twice and simultaneously protecting two other pieces. I eventually settled on basically kings indian setups but instead of pawn storming you just slowly slowly expand kings side. That way the king is safe in his little KI fortress and isn't at terrible risk of sneak attacks or accidentally opening him up to attack by a random bishop on the long diagonal or something like that.

I am not that much of a chess player, but i like it. However I feel like this game mode is not meant for the same people that chess is, because this is an incomplete information game (as opposed to chess, which is a complete information game). That means that a computer playing this would rely on statistics rather than min-max or other algorithms where it would just play to increase its score and/or decrease the opponents. I feel like this is closer to a real-lie warfare situation.

It's interesting how, any time you can SEE your opponents king, if it's your turn, you just win right there. Because if you can see it, you can capture it, and while capturing other pieces have the risk of it being defended, the king's got no such risk.

Strange mode, I would use my bishops to scout to gain info, mainly because I never find good situations for my bishops except sacrifice their diagonal movement would be great for scouting but the queen is the most valuable Scot and attack wise Here are my stats for the pieces for fog of war in my opinion Pawn 1 Scout, 3 Attack Knight 3 Scout 4 Attack Bishop 5 Scout 6 Attack Rook 5 Scout 6 Attack Queen 10 Scout 9 Attack King 2 Scout 3.1 Attack (This is If it was not the price you had to protect I can’t really factor that it so) (Also Scout Means how well they can show information of the board if you did not understand) (Attack is their attacking ability)
