10 BISHOPS | Custom Chess Position Challenge

Ойындар

10 bishops. What else?
Watch live at / imrosen (follow to get notified when I go live!)
In this video, I play a blitz game against lichess user Dareoth (1520). The normal rules of chess applied, but the game featured one big twist: I started with 10 bishops. This was a part of a stream where I encouraged viewers to challenge me to "custom positions" where they could make up any position of their wildest fantasies. This led lots of funny and memorable games. Stay tuned (and subscribe) for more content like this!

3:56 you could have done bg3... If black bishop captures you check the king and win the queen. If bishop moves to any part of the diagonal it gets captured and king check. If you dont move it again king check. Losing queen.

In the final position after be4 a3 you should’ve played bd5 a2 kb5, winning connect 4 with the king and 3 bishops all aligned 😃

13:41 Should have played Be3, Kd5, Enemy promotes, Ke6# That would mean he would have won while down material and his pieces would be in a line from e3 to e6.

3:39 You missed Bg3. Black cannot capture this bishop because of the threat of Bhf6+, skewering the queen, and there is no retreat square either. It wins a piece.

That was fun to watch. Puzzle: I wonder if it's possible to contrive a legal game with 10 bishops on one side? (All pawns from one side under-promoting).

If you count a bishop as 4 pawns, knight as 4 pawns, rook as 6 and queen as 11 pawns, then 1:31 is equal material. I think bishops should count as 4 pawns for the opening and as 3 pawns for the ending.

In 8:16, your bishops had influence on 40 squares out of 64. So 62.5% of all squares.
