Storytelling, charisma, delivery, flow, energy, etc. all count just as much if you ask me. Plenty of guys who's skills with the writing that I respect I could never sit through an entire album of because they're personalities are just flat out boring. Meth and Dirty brought a ridiculous amount of personality and charisma to Wu and it could be argued if the two weren't in that crew they might've never blown at all. Imagine 36 Chambers without the M.E.T.H.O.D. Man track or Meth doing the hook on CREAM.....

Mr Sandman was also crazy. The gritty sound on that album was just crazy, it fit Method Man well IMO.....

Meth is a living legend and everything planned out the way it should. No mistakes made. If he still had the songs that didn’t get destroyed in the flood at the time when he dropped his first album, that could have changed his story. Things happen for a reason and he should have no regrets. His first album is an all time hip hop classic

Salute to the Honorable Method Man. I met the brother a couple of times. I told him my name when I introduced myself the first time and he remembered the next time I saw him. That's a thorough intelligence; as many people as he meets. Peace to a true gladiator in this Hip Hop game. Praises.

When Tical was out we were debating that vs Ready to Die. Meth's longevity and constant upward arc is bananas.

Yo the whole Meth interview is iconic; matter of fact, the whole Math Hoffa cast of seasoned brothers, spitting knowledge with all sorts of rappers will last. Mad respect for showing rappers can exist peacefully!

Meth was honest in this interview Tical was the main Wu solo album we was fiending for, Only Built 4Cuban Lynx shifted the whole dynamic for Wu Solo projects. Inspect sh Deck suffered the same problem.

Methods second album was my favorite. Wasn't feeling the 1st to much especially since the hotter songs on the album were radio remixes. Now hearing that his music was originally lost in flood I wouldn't be surprised if those original songs were better composed since time was taken with those. Oh and only built for Cuban link is the best wu affiliated cd

That was a great moment. The bars between these 2 lyricists was something special.

I can't believe how many people on here think Tical is trash. That jawn was fire as fuck. The mixing and mastering could have used some work, but the production was top notch. Those beats were dark and dreamy as hell, and the flows were crazy.

Yall tripping, the beats are not great, very dusty, no bounce at all to it, not even a little bit. RZA has said numerous times and other wu members as well that the LP was rushed do to the fire etc....it is what it is....cats will make excuses on MC's they love....dont get it twisted. The Month of the Man in the Source Magazine is the best Hip Hop poster ever made till this very day! If I see that picture now I couldn't stop the tears. That's what motivated me every mourning to go against all odds.

When the Wu dropped that METHOD MAN joint we was in the projects banging that daily, good times

There were actually 2 floods. One in '94 and one in '96. The basement studio managed to survive the first flood but the second flood destroyed it. RZA talks about it in "The Wu-Tang Manual". He said that's the reason "Ironman" has a different sound quality than the solos before it. He had a specific mic setting for every Clan member and he lost those settings forever because of that second flood. Hence, why the vocal mixes never sounded as gritty & dirty as their earlier works. The second flood is hardly ever mentioned. Most people assume only one happened because the members only mention the one from '94. It could also very well be the catalyst for RZA beginning to switch to digital production on "Wu-Tang Forever".

Tical is a classic I love that album but imagine how the original sounded when that flood happen smfh. RZA is a hip hop scientist he created some diabolical raw shyt. That boy was channeling them frequencies and sounds outta this world. Ppl got they opinions but meth hands down is one of my fav out of wu. But RZA also got burnt out ever since that flood. I hate that happen to him unheard gems from inspector deck, meth, ghost originals smfh.

I hear on these videos, which I love and appreciate. The "they had reapect without anger from the cat that came before them" but I honestly can't remember the last time that trait was honored. I'm glad it was respected back In the day, but it makes me sad it isn't perpetuated by "MC's" today

We were robbed of another 5 mic Wu Tang solo classic album with Rza in his prime and Deck at his absolute peak. That would have been up there with Liquid Swords, Cuban Linx and so on I swear to this day. Damn. That would have been a landmark album.

Raekwon the chef is the hardest rapper out of Wu-Tang clan.

GZA and Raekwon ran that mid to late 90s with their projects, then Ghost came right after. At one point, Ghost was the only one holding the Wu down lyrically. Inspectah Deck and Meth were the two who I was somewhat disappointed in but the transition was already in effect. Deck never got a major look and Meth became more known for the features IMO more then his albums.

That Interview was Food...As a Fan I would have asked the same Questions... Bought his debut when it came out.. And Meth did have writers block working with Redman the early days.. You could tell..💯
