to keep my ocarina safe I use a metal box my grandma gave me. I still have the cardboard box the ocarina originally came in so I put it in there as well then surround it with socks that are too small for my feet

XD ya, I ended up giving that ocarina to my brother as a gift after I got my plastic one from songbird so now I just use a felt ocarina bag similar to the ones he said to stay away from for ceramics. I still want to get one of these though

Just so you know. The Songbird pouches no longer come with the stretchy fabric rope. Also the treasure chest no longer comes with the paper strips inside.

I like Focalink's padded soft cases a lot. I have their hard cases, and those are good too, but they take up space. Nice thing about the hard cases is that they will protect your ocarinas from drops.

a friend bought me a 12 hole from ocarina wind and it came with a pouch so I usually use that, but there's no padding. It stupidly never occurred to me to make one from scratch lol I think I will

Gun cases are not readily available in my country. I do what I do with all breakable things when travelling and roll them up in my clothes.

what about an xl Ds case I think that would work pretty well as most are padded inside and they are pretty sturdy

Made my own pouch. Dark faux leather outer, three layers of felt, and a dark brown faux fur lining with a zipper on the end. Its thick but fits my alto C snuggly, and as long as I don't try to throw it like a football, I'm confident that it's well protected.

Wow! Those fabric cases are giving me ideas! I can sew and I especially enjoy making bags/purses/backpacks. Your friend and you came up with a great design! I bought a Legend of Zelda box from STL Ocarina for my ocarina of time and the first time I put it in and opened the box, I HAD to sing the "open treasure chest" tune, too. LOL! That's hard to resist! I was also kinda looking at gun cases for my ocarinas...and my friend works at a gun store...he already thinks I'm odd for turning bullet shells into jewelry and steampunking gun holsters...he won't be too surprised if I get a gun case for a musical instrument... ;-P Thanks for all the informative videos! I always learn so much from you!

Hey David! After seeing some Doctor Who stuff all over your videos I was thinking if you could make a Doctor Who ocarina song cover? Maybe a medley or just the title theme. It would be very interesting to see what it sounds like on the ocarina and what you can come up with :)

my friends often comment on how much an ocarina looks like a toy gun so when you showed the gun cases, I burst out laughing. might get one for the lolz

I have a brief case that I padded out with two fleece blankets so the ocarinas fit really snuggly :)

i just bought a case for a camera. yep. it hard with soft protection inside and i can cram up to 3 ocarinas(one very small,other double),but these look really cute!

My mom made me a custom made soft case for my ocarina for stogare at home but I like those smaller hardcase boxes, I might just buy one so I can savely bring my ocarina everywhere!

i use the songbird ocarina traveler pouch

At home i have them in a glass cabinet, but when i want to carry them around i have 2 of the brown hardcases focalink and Rotter sell. They have a similar foam as the gun cases, but are much tighter, so the ocarina's don't move around, and the foam is probably also thicker.

I wish those were easier to get in the US, cause those are really nice cases!

i have two dinda ocarinas that i adore. my dinda alto c i usually just keep in the triangle zipper pouch that sarawut provided, and the double that i have from him i actually keep in a plano pistol case. one of the plastic ones you showed. i think it is the exact same as one of those actually. it does not bounce around or shake at all either, i just gave it a gentle toussling just to test it. i guess it's just one of the ones that fits nicely inside! i have a hind tenor f as well which is quite large, and that does not fit into anything i have currently. i just keep it in the courdoroy pouch that Mr. Hind provided and stored on a shelf when i am not using it. i have the plastic kokiri model from songbird, which is an incredible cross finger ocarina by the way, and that is what i generally take with me to travel. it sees a lot of abuse, but it can really take it, haha. i keep it in just a thin fabric pouch.

I only have 3, so I put the 12 holes in the songbird's case along with the pendant 4 holes then put it in a drawer. My first ocarina, the 5 holes doesn't has a case, so I wrapped it in a cloth then put it in the same drawer XD

Do you or any one else here no of any quiet ocarinas? I have two ocarinas that both fine and I enjoy playing them but dye to me being quite new to the instrument I make mistakes and as the ocarina is quite loud it bothers my wife so I was hoping to find a quieter ocarina. Also just finished majoras mask( never could finish it as a kid) so your t shirt is awesome.

I would caution using the Gun cases as Ocarina cases depending on the state you live in mostly if the state has strict gun laws you might have to talk to law enforcement a lot if you carry it around since it is a Gun case first and foremost and people don't know any better so they will assume that you have a Gun

do you ever have any problem at the airport? i say, you have a pistol case in your hand

Hi Eric how are you i know that this question doesn´t have anything to do with the video but. I already know how to play the Ocarina (your videos have helped me) and in my school my peruvian flute teacher loves my instrument (Actually i have a 12 hole black ocarina from songbird) and he said to me that this year i will need a multi chamber Ocarina (and if a can a triple hole) Because i will going to make some conserts with me and my other classmates, so i come to you for an advice of a triple or double ocarina. Hope you read my message. Hugs :)

I was always curious (not for sure if you know much about it...), would the aluminum ocarina carrying case from stlocarina work about the same as these gun cases? I was thinking of getting that case when I start increasing my collection, but if it will have the same small problems as the gun cases (slight shaking when being moved) and do the same thing (keep it decently protected), then I would prefer to save like $20 or so lol. As of right now, I only have 3 ocarinas (1 12-hole and 2 english pendants [5-hole and 6-hole]) none of which came with a protective case. So my ocarinas are braving the world with no protection. It's a sad story, really. XD They all are still good, but I don't want to take many more chances when it comes to keeping them safe. :P P.S. I remember your old video on how you keep your ocarinas safe and mentioning the gun cases. You mentioned about the weird looks at the airport in that video, too. Some time, you should get a storytelling time going and talk about all the encounters you've had trying to get on an airplane with your ocarinas. :D

That feeling when you don't want to order a case from america because of all the taxes but you have no other choice.

They could potentially be scratched, but I don't use a case for mine.
