This is one of the hardest parts of the whole trilogy too imo. This whole stage. Not just the beginning

Still crazy you have to empty 2 whole mags of the Widow to kill just one Scion.

@@spark9189 Neither was the Armor Shepard was wearing, or the ability to skip the hacking mini games, or the fact that default Shepard has a full beard. This is clearly a modded game with a weapon mod installed that has the Black Widow.

Scions and YMIR mechs in ME2 on Insanity are toughest enemies you'll face in the entire trilogy. This fight, without the exploit, is easily harder than any fight I had in ME1 and ME3. I gladly used my Cain on these 2 asshat scions.

You don't have to enter through the door. I normally just sit at the door entrance and shoot the guns, as they poke out and are visible without having to enter.

You can also circle back to refill ammo for the sniper rifle at a power cell to the left in that area. Opposite of where the first scion spawns I believe.

@@claws2129 Theres at least one or two respawning thermal clip areas in the previous battle location. If you're standing in the door shooting scions, behind you to the right-ish on boxes is a set of respawning clips.

@@claws2129 AFAIK every planted set of thermal clips in the game respawns. They just won't respawn while you're near them. A lot of "defense" areas like the end of Legion's loyalty mission are easier if you just bounce back and forth between the respawning ammo points.

Interesting. I always thought the Scions spawn after walking through the gate objective.

@@AntonyTheGod Yeah, that part is just a pita, specially in hardcore and insanity. I just played my very first playthru since around 2014 and just forgot about many things, that battle been one of those😁😳😡👍. I always maxed out my level doing every side quests and upgrades avalible to that point in the story, but this time, I followed the advice of trying to do another loyalty mission before jumping into the Collectors ship, making 6 out of the mandatory 5 missions to get more xp and some extra upgrades, and that worked bit better👍

I learned that trick before. Just taking it a step further shown in the vid was something I didn’t know you could do. Awesomeness

That isn't even that hardest part tho, it's the beginning of the collector ship and the beginning of the suicide mission that are the rage moments

For me it was the Colossus on Haestrom. And the hardest part about the collectors definitely were the husks. Especially in combination with Scions. The collectors were actually pretty easy if you had Reave and took Samara into your squad.

I played biotic, there were so many rage inducing moments. Most notably, any armored melee enemies. It’s so easy to get overwhelmed when you have no easy way to hold them back, and singularity only works 10% of the time since most melee enemies move so fast. I did find Horizon easier than some missions though, since I essentially just sacrificed Mordin and Garrus to the husks and spammed warp on the scions. The praetorian was tad annoying though

I’m in the middle of my first Insanity playthrough and I just beat horizon. I already know that the beginning of the suicide mission is gonna be my rage point between the valves and the collectors :P

Yeah beating this part legit took quite a few tries on insanity. I recall beating it much quicker with my soldier tho

I feel you on this, my favourite exploits were korlus, just waiting for the krogan to stop spawning (10 spawn) tuchanka with the screw you hide behind for the thresher maw

Trust me, this is golden to use in Insanity regardless of the platform you are using and in other bit of information, there should have been another mission where we ran into the Virmire Survivor and start the Rekindling process in a more how shall I say, controlled angry way at least after the Collectors Base imagine this: the Normandy is beated up to h--- and during space repairs an Alliance patrol shows up and orders the ship to stop, unknown to players the VS is there and as we are going back and forth with the ships crews (gets easier if you have Samara loyal to vouch for you, destroyed the Collectors Base and was reinstated as Spectre) the Survivor comes up. Depending on how they left on Horizon, and/or if they are pursuing another romance with another character while they still have one with them even if they were clear they consider you dumped them and they dumped you AND if players have Legion with them, the encounter could go multiple ways. Shame Bioware never did that originally or when the Legendary Edition came out and allowed players to either formally sever ties with the VS or agree to talk more calmer at a later date.

Looks like I did this exploit the hard way. I stayed inside the door and killed the two Scions by the tiniest sliver of their bodies I could see.

Cain also works very nicely. Granted you can’t use it afterwards lol

It's somewhat easy on new game+ If you started fresh on insanity you will have a hard time in this encounter

I'm now kind of curious what other mods they were using cuz he's obviously using one for the bypass and hacking unless he edited how fast they was doing it and I thought only the black widow had multiple shots in it not the standard widow

Yeah ;) But also her "Flashbang granade" is one of the most broken abilities in ME2 (if not the most broken one). When Kasumi uses it, enemies go into total stormtrooper mode and proceed to miss every shot lol

But since this is before the collector ship, you need to be playing as a soldier to have a sniper. gross.

It's modded, along with armor and Shepard appreance as well. Legendary edition didn't change these things

That is incorrect. You can aquire the Black Widow in ME2. If I remember correctly you can buy it for a lot of money via a merchant. Can’t remember which tho.

@@cwidtsoe you can't buy it in ME 2,its only available in the specter shop in ME 3. There are only 4 snipers in ME2, the normal widow, the Mantis, the Viper and the Incisor
