I started Thai recipes by emailing ThaiFoodTonight. Suki was always responsive and incredibly thorough. Years later I look back fondly on the lessons learned and the amazing interactions as I grew to understand the complexities. I love this channel ❤️

Pailin, you should be so proud! Encouraging someone just dipping their toe in the idea of following their passion makes such a difference. Talk about good karma! Being an inspiration to someone is such a blessing ❤

Hedge funds are a horrible thing. I'm glad the love for good food was able to get somebody out of the tight, zero sum games of the finance world!

Lol do you know anyone who works in finance? 12 hour days are standard. Hedge fund managers don't have "plenty of time" to do anything, their hobbies are hoarding money and snorting coke. You can hate on him for being a finance bro but let's not pretend having a high paying job makes it easy to become a great chef. There's no way to buy the talent and drive it takes to be truly great. Thousands go to culinary schools, fancy ones, but there are very few chefs who can impress someone like Pailin after just a few years of study. Did je start from the bottom? Of course not, but I still respect what he's been able to achieve. And I agree it's great that he's doing something he finds meaningful now. If all the hedge fund managers quit to pursue their dreams, the world would be a much better place.
