MY EXPAT LIFE REGRETS AFTER LIVING IN ITALY FOR 8 YEARS

Hey guys and welcome back to another video of mine! Today I want to share this very personal video where I reflect on my regrets after almost 8 years of living abroad in Italy, what I wish I could have done differently, and just thoughts as my 8th anniversary of life in Italy approaches.

ABOUT:
Hi! I’m Valeria, and I’m a Ukrainian expat and digital nomad, currently living in Italy. I first came here without speaking the language and being totally unprepared, but pretty sure this is gonna be an adventure of a lifetime! I love discovering Italian culture, Italian people and, of course, Italian food. I'm a full-time content creator, so when I'm not making travel videos, I'm taking photos, writing and creating artworks. Studying is another passion of mine, and currently I’m finishing my Masters degree at the University of Bologna. Here I post regular travel vlogs, tips on expat life, moving abroad, personal growth and self-esteem as a woman living abroad, so hop on and welcome on board!

A life without regrets is an unfulfilled life. You have to try new things and people change, grow and make mistakes.

I enjoyed this video. I just moved to Italy from USA March 4. Did research. Lots. For years. Yet still I made an error. I’m in puglia now , thought I would live here. No. I’m not. I am now going to Rome. That was always my destination. Thanks for sharing.

First of all congratulations on the decision to move abroad at 19 :) It’s completely normal to make “mistakes” at that age and if you don’t make them you’re definitely not growing. No regrets! This has been your best path in life and you went trough exactly what you were supposed to go through in order to grow and become the person you’re now. :) Failing is the fastest way of learning and growing. Fail forward!💪🏻🙏🏻 Thank you for the great video and keep up the great work!

Ciao Valeria! I agree with you about quality over quantity when it comes to your circle of friends. I was able to make several nice friends when I lived in Firenze and look forward to making more friends when I move to Sicily. I am moving abroad again in 10 days!!! Thank you again for being part of my research, which is very important, as you said, when I first moved to Italy and for being an inspiration to continue to try and live my dreams! Buona giornata, Paul

Ciao carissima!

Outside of countries groceries not cheap, utilities high, tax high, bugs problem, humid weather... only cheaper rent, 20% saving can't motivate me, so stay in America.

just call yourself an expat, is the right term "immigrants", or are only those who come from a poor country considered as such?
