I’ve searched all over KZread for a video like this. I have a 2009 Chevy Colorado with a 5’ bed, so your video was extremely helpful. Great design and presentation.

Awesome creation! I have been looking at alot of different videos for ideas, on making a modular camping set up for my truck. That still allows you to use the box, when your not camping. I'm going to figure this one, into my plans in one way or another! Thanks!

Thanks for the walkthrough! I tried to get a truck with a 6.5' bed, but ended up with 5.75'. this a great solution for that!

I found your build explanations and side information very well presented. I remember back when you were a little concerned on how to get those angle just right with the slide-out section. Always enjoy your video's... but this may be my first time to comment . I'm looking forward to more of your adventures.

What do you do to seal up between the tailgate/truck cap and the extension? It seems like the straight lines of the extention and the cap especially would have considerable gaps allowing cold air and bugs I?

Could you also make one like this with foam? More lighter and better soundproofing.

Do you put anything on top and on the sides of the slide out to somewhat seal it to keep bugs and weather out?

A very practical and doable project for those of us using short-bed trucks, Scott! Do you have any issues with the floating extension sliding back and forth on the tailgate when you want it to remain stationary?

No. It was heavy enough to stay in place and light enough to move around.

Do you have problems getting out, in the middle of the night, with your bed extended inside. The bed would make the entrance door of the extension smaller.

I was looking to do something like this but my bed area would have to be 6' off the floor (bed dimension challenge) and extend to almost the end of the tailgate. I'm concerned I won't have enough room to get in and out.
