I suggest you add a coat of marine poly to the complete outside. Regular poly will eventually crack and peel off. You might also consider adding drip rails to the ends of the roof for better protectin. Beautiful job!

Nice job. One of the best build I have seen of a non-cab over I am extremely impressed at someone your age doing such good work.

I just came across your videos recently as I find I may have to live in my car soon, and was researching ways to make tiny livable spaces. While I have no ability to do something like what you've done with both this cabin and the tiny home, I did gain a bit of a reprieve from my overwhelming stress in the form of entertainment. Give this some time. Worth it! Aside from being a very talented engineer, carpenter and artist, this kid is HILARIOUS!! The end result, ROCKS!!!

You have great motivation. I have built with wood for over 40 years, none of which were weather proof or over the road proof. If I were to take on what you are doing, I would use vinyl deck lumber and poly boards for the exterior and rough framing because the rain will never comprise the integrity of this material. Great video content my friend.

You are my hero! I'm a soon to be empty nesting single mom and was looking at buying something like this for my truck. But NOW, I think I'm going to build one. Thanks for the inspiration. Let the road trips begin!

The only thing I am personally missing here, is a little hook inside to hang clothes and a ladder on the outside, detachable, to ease acess to the camper, as not to jump everytime on the truck bed. But what an amazing build that is. Well done.

That came out so awesome. My only criticism is I would have extended it out to the length of the tailgate when down. The extra couple of feet of length gained would been well worth it.

That would have required some kind of mounting system to be in place. From what I saw, he clearly was designing it to lay in and go.

I was thinking, it could be cool to have a fold down counter on the outside under each window, for various purposes. Maybe even a little fold down table on the inside of your upper hatch of your door or at least a stashable little folding table, for your laptop. It will be fun to see what piece of land you end up getting & what you will do on it. It would be cool if it had an old fixer upper cabin on it, would make for great ongoing content.

I know I'm late to the party, but this thing looks infinitely better than anything you could buy. Great job!

I would have added some 1/2” foam board in the walls/ceiling and lined it with Tyvec for a vapor barrier. Would make for a much more comfortable living space inside. I guess your spar varnished wood would do ok, but belt and suspenders, I’d say.

Double Dutch doors originated in the Netherlands in the 17th century. They were used in the farmlands and were designed to keep animals out, children inside and let in fresh air and natural light. Eventually Dutch settlers brought the style to the U.S. I'm Dutch and never heard of those doors and went to Google it out of interest. I leave it here for anyone that's interested.

I was thinking that too, but then it occurred to me that perhaps he is in college, or there is the time it takes to do a build, he likes to show the time lapse completed project, do high quality editing and detailed descriptive narration, rather than be rushed & sloppy as so many you tubers can be when on a deadline. He did get over 8 Million Views on just one part of his Tiny Home Build Time Lapse. He said the ad revenue paid for his Tiny Home's full cost. It looks like he has the formula figured out. Smart, quality, interesting, funny, refreshingly so.

Looking at it from the outside while the inside lights are on makes it look so cozy

I would love to see how these builds age. An update in six months and then a year of things that have held up well, changes you would make if you were doing it again and any other thoughts that might have evolved.
