Awh I guess it depends on what target means for people - we have a wide variery of firms directly recruiting our students and various firms call us a target school but to each their own!

@@TheBryanJun I think most people watching your video assume target schools are for BB/EB/MBB. With your logic, wouldn’t every university be a target? All colleges have some form of direct recruitment whether it’s finance, consulting, accounting, etc.

@@TheBryanJun I think a better term is probably “semi-target”. Targeted for sure and by a fair no. of firms but not quite the same volume of placement or number of firms as a full “Target”.

Most people define target schools as the sheer volume of students who go into IB. Most people at LACs don't go for IB like the Wharton kids do. The question should be: if a student at said school wants IB, will they get it? The answer at W&L is yes, but less actually want it so they volume is low.

I've seen a couple people from public schools get degrees in accounting get an MSF or go into audit for 3 years get an MBA then break into banking. Also the military is a great way to break in and I see a lot of bankers come from being an officer. There are lots of alternative ways to becoming a banker.

Hey, can you create a video covering campus recruiting and how it works for students? When does it happen? How are students recruited etc

No offense, but W&L is NOT a “target school” which generally refers to schools where BB banks actively recruit for FO roles. Someone who goes to W&L is going to have to put on a lot more effect to land such role than a finance major at, say, NYU Stern or UVA’s business school.

Pretty sure w&l has one of the best IB placement per capita, better than most ivies. Know multiple people here going to work at citi, Morgan stanely, GS

dude middlebury is a semi target. join the right club and u will be fine. GS loves middlebury kids (or the ones with connections lol)

IMO connections and networking will always outweigh anything, with attending target schools being at #2
