I love the stylization of the art work on CED caddies. They're like the 8-track of home film libraries. Best of luck in your hunt for more titles. Hope to see an update in the future

lol, yeah I had Mash, rear window, North by Northwest , Airplane and also History of the World which I watched over and over again! That RCA player is the exact one we had!

I never owned a CED player but a friend of mine had one and it must have been around 1983 and I soo wanted one . Now I want one just for the nostalgia

You should grab a player and a handful of favorite movies for fun then. Be aware that shipping a player can be very costly.

i got a crazy story to tell you. i saw one of these players for 99 dollars at sears. bought one, a sears model, and a bunch of movies. it was a high end model paused perfect, 2 speeds of scan which you could see perfectly on the tv, not like tape with static lines. the crazy thing is sears could not give these things away. they went down to 49.99. the stylus was 40 dollars, so i just bought a new player when the picture started to degrade. i owned 4 players before i got a VHS tape player. that is all they had and the video rental places toward the end. i remember there was a room dedicated to CED movies. but to tell you the truth there was always skipping somewhere on some disc. very annoying, but i wish i had them back for the memories. people who owned player told me that sears was the best model.

It's such a flawed technology, but there's a unique charm to CEDs too. It's a case where I'll always have a laserdisc or DVD copy of a movie (never just a CED copy) to watch, but I'll enjoy the CED copy as well. It's fun to collect for, and it's still a case of people practically giving them away. I've added quite a few CEDs to the collection since this video (more than double what is shown here) for next to nothing.

There's an RCA SelectaVision version of NORTH BY NORTHWEST, in addition to the MGM version that you have. The RCA Version has a yellow cover. Looks very nice
