Pioneer CLD-53 ELITE Laserdisc Player - Part 2 - Maintenance

Ойын-сауық

Just a run through of places I like to de-grease, clean then re-grease players that come across my bench. In this case, we are cleaning up a CLD-53.
This is part 2 of 4 videos focusing on the CLD-53 Pioneer Laserdisc Player.
Future videos will cover troubleshooting skipback and making new wooden side panels with brass inserts.

This is one of the players I own but it's considered one of the weaker of the players I own. What I do like about this player is it's a lot lighter than other models. I believe this players only weighs around 16 or 17 pounds which is very light for a laserdisc player. 20-30 pounds might not sound like a lot more for the other players but it is because the weight isn't proportional and it's odd weight. Now since I've moved players often I'm a bit used to moving them but for people just getting into laserdisc and want a couple players to own. I can see that be annoying the heavier the weight is. I'm a fairly strong guy too since I've done Construction Work through out my life working for my Father. I did the grunt work so lifting heavy stuff or moving liquid cement in Wheel barrels. I wonder if the older I get if it's going become more of a pain moving laserdisc players from place to place. I don't think so because I believe the last thing to go is power. There' a lot of strong guys in their 60s and 70s.
