Mers are so unique! I know for me I can't swim with my ankles apart, they have to be touching! The Mahina is my perfect fin, but I almost exclusively swim in the ocean so I need a lot of propulsion. Was thinking about one of these because of the good propulsion but I wouldn't be able to deal with those foot pockets! Thanks for the review!

Mermaid Kat used to do skins for the Hydra, but I think she quit this fin. But maybe you could ask if she would make one specially for you. I was one of the last ones to get a skin (for the Hydra) and I didn't really like the colours that she still got. So I asked for a different colour and she sewed it for me! Im pretty sure, that you also will get a skin for the Hydra if you ask

I wanna start by saying how much I LOVE my Luna that I of course decided on because of you. My feet are "thicker" than yours, but I wear 10.5 shoes and I can barely fit my Luna. I wonder of this monofin wouldn't be too big for me though? I love the shape of this one. I'm into humor way too much.. so I'm thinking that shape, Orca tail, fat girl - I MUST do this someday! 🤣

I ordered a hydra a week ago, and what came in the mail was this minos. I am a size 8 extremely wide, with high arches. I was going to return this, but after trying it on, out of water, it isn't bad. Obviously it is long on my feet, but the straps hold it on, and it isn't too tight. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I have a bit of a monofin collection too, and the Hydra is one of em. For the price point of them I think they're fantastic. My one gripe though is while the straps pull in to tighten well, pushing the clips in to loosen they're often quite stiff and I've pinched my fingers trying to do so. The plastic of the strap also feels rather eh in quality, but for an entry price point monofin they're great choice. If I could find other anckle straps to fit the small clip-knobs it'd jump even higher in my list of preferred fins.

Seriously miss swimming. I cannot wait for Vancouver to start reopening pools!!!

I have the mermaid kat hydra monofin and she is my favorite baby to swim with. I have used a lot of monofins and the hydra is the most comfort monofin to swim with. Also if the straps are damaged you can replace it for new straps

Now I’m planning to get that monofin I have the Luna monofin, the linden monofin, the mahina monofin, the rapid monofin, and the mertailor fantasea fin one monofin, Update: I got the Minos monofin and the shooter monofin can’t use them yet until next summer but I’m so happy to have them

This is my favorite monofin I have, I wear the most. Absolutely love love love this fin. I thought I had the Triton, but this is the one lol. I forget some times lol.

I really love my 'Triton' as it's very comfortable, fast and comes in clear (both my silicone tails have a clear 'Triton' ). The 'Minos' & the 'Hydra' also comes in clear. 😉 Tailskins that fit a 'Wave' will fit a 'Triton' and skins that fit a 'Rapid' will fit a 'Hydra' 😉

Hi Courtney I was wondering if you’d be able to answer my question. I have a finfolk tail with the finis shooter. I had to get a replacement cause mine was breaking. My feet are wider and are a seize 12-13. Does this monofin work in any finfolk or mertailor tails or are there ones for larger feet you could recommend?

How does the minos compare propulsionwise to the mahina? Does anyone know?

I have HUGE feet (size ten/eleven womens, WIDE) and the only thing that really fits is the Linden and the biggest Mahina. The Luna tends to rub the base of my big toe joint. I like the stiff power fin design.

well i have been searching for a monofin that has enough power well i have always wanted a monofin that i can make a jump with it like you can understand me right? and i really dont want to buy something that i will later regret having so can you help me out here? and i when ever i look for the monofin they ask which size and i really get confused i really would like if you can hell me out thank you

How does it compare to the mahina in terms of ease to swim? Im trying to find a fin that is like the mahina for my dad but he has huge feet so im trying to find an equivalent fin

I have a size European 42 and I fit in a mermaid kat Hydra with ease! I also have the mahina! So the hydra is a little faster because the blade is stiffer. But it's pretty simular. Good luck!

What tail skin goes well this this?

Also I know you said you wouldn't make a tail skin for this monofin, but if you did what kind of aesthetic would you go for?

I haven’t really given it much thought for a personal tail. I have made a tail skin for a client before with this fin and it is good to work with.

Looking for a tail perfect for an orca shape

I know the struggle! This is a good monofin for larger feet but sadly there aren’t really mermaid tail skins available for it.

It should fit up to a 14 men's in US sizing, but make sure you double check the information on the site you are ordering from before you place your order to make sure.
