Every time you post a video I end up with a new Gameboy. I'm thinking about putting a DS in a Gameboy Pocket shell because I really like the pocket and I'm pretty sure I can make it work.

It’s so funny: I did, too! Found a GB Light about a month ago at a game shop here in Osaka for ¥500. It was sold as-is & has some scuffs & scratches... but I did a bit of cleaning & everything works!! 🤗

just do it. break the barrier. maybe by a few broken ds' and repair them so that you get used to working on the small area

@@OsitoGrizz on schpock ive seen 5 broken ds lites for 15 quid - if you fix them all, with parts that cost say 25 quid, thats almost a 100 dollar profit

There are fake ones that cost more than that real one so I’d say good deal either way

Normally ide be a little tilted that it was opened half way through the video but what you explained was actually really helpful and it’s always fun hearing what you have to say :) keep it up!

I'm Mexican, can confirm you can find a lot of retro gaming on flea market for cheap, online i haven't tried yet, there's a lot of locals that offers shippings but i kinda notice they rise the prices for the collectible value of the consoles is a different price ratio in comparison but there you can find some good deals...

Just how in the world did you managed to get this. I know YA and it's full of resellers for this kind of stuff who would bid the hell out of a listing like this one! Congratz man.

Haha mate I'm from Mexico and even though gameboy prices haven't sky rocketed like in the western world there's no way you find a light that cheap. I was searching for a light for months in sendico and ended up getting one for like 35 dollars but it has some scratches. You found the bargain I was expecting. Congrats

I live in Japan and you can find tons of retro gaming stuff in very good to excellent condition. In big cities like Tokyo, there are TONS of video game stores that have a heavy focus on retro gaming clear back to the 70's and 80's in many cases. I've even seen SG-1000 cards and Atari games.

Last year when I was there I couldn't find any GameBoy Light and you got one for like nothing! I think I'll order a GBL this year too

There are quite a few GameBoy pockets for sale at my closest second hand/recycle shop, all for 500¥ and under. Last I checked there was a Gold Pocket and a Gold GBA, each about ~400¥. If you're interested..

There's another KZreadr, JapanGemu, who found one exactly like yours (gold color, I mean) on one of those used stuff stores in Japan, with box and paperwork for the same price as you, it only had corrosion from batteries left inside, but he cleaned it off and worked perfectly. By the way, I did not get that last part about Mexico... 🙄 😨 😔

actually, on US eBay there are a lot of sealed games and accessories shipping out of Mexico. most of the VB carts used as donors came from Mexico.

I just saw the video ( i know a bit late) but I have to say that you are wearing a BEAUTIFUL watch!

In Europe - Cyprus especially - The oldest thing I found was a gameboy dmg for like 10 or 15€ it was in an acceptable contrition with major scratches and some corrosion on the battery connector. I only cleaned the battery corossion just to see if it works and it does. I don't plan on fixing it more since I am happy with it. But I never found any other old stuff like that. I may need to use that Japanese site then to get my hands on some retro consoles

Gameboy light very nice although EL backlights last a very short amount of time before dimming but I bet you already knew that and can replace it!

I have the Yellow GB light! Sadly I’m actually really disappointed with the screen, I’m not sure if they’re all like this but the light feels kinda weak and the visibility isn’t great, a bit blurry and hard to see. It’s otherwise a really awesome system so I’m bummed D: still, the fact that you got this so cheap and in such good condition is amazing!

So I know this is off topic to gameboys, but you should try fixing/restoring a WM-1 Sony Walkman. I’ve heard they’re really hard to fix.

Hey, you should try out a mod that give a gameboy WiFi for the official camera and printer. It can be found on Etsy. It would be so interesting to see how it works
