There are some KZreadrs who do "restorations" that end up damaging or degrading the product in some way, and i always appreciate how immaculate and careful your skills are. You could do serious museum-quality work, I'm sure of it!

I think the gba sp aged really well, the clamshell design still looks good nowadays, the buttons look sleek, and the font used for the advance logo still looks modern.
The beginning of that montage made me laugh way more than it probably should have. Well done my friend! Very entertaining video as always :)
I can't explain why, but ut's always so satisfying seeing a GBA SP being reassembled, especially after the shell got a clean.
For a few months now I've been watching your content about every day and I want to thank you for the amazing content you provide for everyone these videos have been great keep it up. Although I'm not an og these past months seemed to go slow but when I watch your videos it seems to make my day go faster and I want to thank you for providing content for everyone. thank you for the great experience.
The CINEMATOGRAPHY for that bit at 11:35 😤👌 This man needs at least 1million subs
I absolutely love to clean my handhelds, so I feel like home in this channel. In fact, I have learned many tricks from you here and there, so thank you! Also, I love the importance you give to all the process with your camera shots, it's really a lot of effort, and the result is incredible.
I can see your gaming skills haven't improved

Dramatic choice of music, at first, lol It also looks like you're the only one who made a video about this limited edition gba sp. Good job!
really been enjoying that there are a few gameboy modifying and restoring channels all with incredibly high production value. Thank you for putting so muc heart and soul into your videos Elliot. Very enjoyable to watch and have inspired a few gameboy related projects for myself as well.
I seriously can’t wait for the Mario Kart: Super Circuit inspired shell + letsplay.
You sir, deserve an award for the best Gameboy collection. Mostly for things like the left handed Gameboy, and cool collectable things like this.
I love the way you're combing music with these and letting your wider influences to creep in. Really cool.
I had to look it up to see if the “sharpie” marks were apart of it and it was which is cool
Loved the style on this one :) That skit was actually so decent... Good stuff :)
This man so good at what he does he calls it a try of the wing screw
I actually laughed out loud at your slapstick comedy 😆
You are one of the main reasons why I love trying to restore old electronics, so thanks for making these excellent, high quality restoration videos.
I used to have Rip Curl gear. Never knew they sponsored a special edition GBA SP.
I always wanted to ask, but is the intro animation fan-made of did you make it yourself?

The spray joke was pretty dangerous! Hope the spare didn't hurt your eyes!!! BTW big fan of your retro game consoles videos, plz give us more interesting content!
Good thing you wear glasses, had Windex sprayed in my eye once. I hurt.
I absolutely love your sense of humor. That plus your content makes every video fun to watch
Still have one in the drawer beside me, it's a bit banged up but provided so many great memories.
Very nice... never seen that design before - being from the UK!!! Lovely restoration job though... looks good as new! :-)
Hi from France, just discovered your channel 2 days ago, and what a pleasure, exactly the kind of "relaxing retro gaming video" I was looking for. Thanks
I love your content soooo muuuch, i pray the best for you in life as a thanks for all of the great and enjoyable content you have given us across the years. And above all Happy Anniversary!! (Ik it’s after it happened but still, hope you had fun!!) Many thanks from you followers and viewers!!!!
Oh also wanted to say, your editing and angles etc. have gotten so good, excellent work
Fun Fact: For those who are interested, these GBA's were mainly sold at the Rip Curl line of stores in the beach city Torquay! If I recall, I've seen one in the past- but that's just me!
i saw that gameboy on reddit close to a year ago!
By now, you're so good at this, you could do an "eyes closed restoration" challenge and do it perfectly.
I found your channel a few days ago. I love the content! New sub!
You are a comical genius! :D Keep up the good work saving old tech.
its amazing how many weird exclusives there are for hand held consoles!
Really do agree with Elliot on the iFixit kit. I got one myself and it's helped me a lot with reshelling and reassembling gameboys.
Very satisfying to watch. Makes me want to add a gameboy next to my switch.
Pretty cool seeing this while living 5 minutes from the Ripcurl HQ in aus
Looks very good. I like the comedy inputs.
really enjoyed the "style" of this video, was very entertaining and nice balance of funny and professional
Nice pick up! Thx for the video.
Love u, Elliot :3 (and as well that montage, it was awesome xd)
underrated channel for sure

Fun fact: in the Netherlands a q-tip is called "wattenstaafje" hahah
I have one of these, I bought it at a Ron Jon surf outfitters in the US. But it was listed as a used thing. I've never seen another game boy for sell in a sporting goods store like that, it was just randomly next to a stack of Oakley
I'm loving the fuzzy cotton sticks ASMR!
Great video. Very cool 👍🏻
Filipino fan here , hope you recognize me ! Dying to have a gameboy advance sp again .. hahaha .. i keep watching you !
I was watching youre old Video The time you uploaded it was on my birthday
Im already loving the Video, great work!
Seriously looks beautiful ‼️‼️ Best what I see So fare
I happened to get a pikachu sp years ago for about $12 and I had no clue what it was worth, I just loved Nintendo and Pokémon. I’m very pleased to say it’s still in perfect condition and lives in a protective case with my red sp. 👍🏻
Coll video and cool repair, thanks for showing all the process as always, love your channel. Are you going to make more videos about more retro stuff like casset players? I just watched a couple and they are cool too.
Amazing video!
You can harvest those springs from floppy disk doors. You might need to trim the legs.
Ripcurl and quick silver both did their own special ones
I love your content is so relaxing
DAMN IT ELLIOT! those squeaks killed my teeth

Noice vid game boy looks beautiful
A trick I use to remove the front part of the screen is use an sewing neddle to remove the little spongy pads. The chance of damaging them or the frame drops a lot with a needle.

Ive seen a fair amount in Australian 2nd hand shops but not recently. Maybe they were horded at some point i recall they were sold at retail for a while. As far as SPs go not the rarest but id imagine importing them would be hard.

when he said they only came out here in straya i did a quick ebay search n found a near complete rip curl shell for $25. score :P should have it next week
Oh dear, im not even planning on modding my SP and the bit about batteries just saved mine.
14:23 - I'm going to be doing that to a game that isn't that expensive ... So you chose an Everdrive?!!
Cool! Love ur vids!
lmao i died when you sprayed yourself with the Mr sheen
Just to be clear, in your Intro you are knocking the tool box off the table.
Elliot is the Tech Doctor. I'm sure of it.
Almost to 300k 😁😁
Even Mr. Sheen could not handle Elliot's hotness and leaked a little. 😂😵😋😭
classy and cultured...refreshing
so many special kinds of Gameboy's wonder how Nintendo made that partnership
Elliot! What lens do you use for your close up footage of screwing in / cleaning / polishing?
Another great refurb video. Side note, never realized your ears are pierced.

hey elliot, i had a quick question kinda unrelated to the video but what came to mind when you cleaned the cartridge reader. Both my GBA SP AGS 101s have a problem where they sometimes just dont turn on which makes me have to wiggle the power switch up and down a couple times before it actually turns on. Do you have any tips on fixing that problem? One of my SPs also has a problem with the volume slider where as soon as i turn it on it wont be able to turn off completely anymore until i reboot the console. Like i can adjust the volume but if i wont go completely silent anymore. I think they are both related though and are slider problems but i havent found a good way to fix these issues yet. I tried contact spray but it only seemed to help for a week or 2.
try using a safety pin to lift up on the rubber screen bumpers. I've done it in the past with major success.
what a boss dude
