I told my mother that because I’m converting to Judaism I’d prefer a modest bathing suit and her response was, “you’re young and pretty you’re gonna show it off while you can” she refuses to buy me modest clothes or swim suits and tells me there is nothing wrong with my body and she doesn’t want me to follow a religion that tells me to hate myself.

Why are you converting from? Just curious… you can be modest and still look beautiful there’s a difference between looking modest and frumpy I think that’s what MOST don’t understand. The Most high creator made His creation in His image. Read about how beautiful the bible describes Sarah.. she was modest and even in her older age she was blessed. Not once but twice others tried to take her for themselves. Never doubt your convictions or compromise them for another who doesn’t understand. Tell your mother that you want to honour her.. 5th commandment and In not showing off too much you can do just that. Wear a one piece with gym shorts or even athletic type pants on top if she won’t buy you anything else. The creator will see your heart gesture behind it. You could ask for some money and go thrifting.. sometimes those cotton type of short skirts with the shorts underneath go on sale for Amazon they’re perfect to wear over yoga type pants if you like to run or workout and you could wear them with a one piece too and they have the shorts under wich is wonderful. My husband is fillipino and they’re around beaches and islands and water ALOT I’ve noticed most women are more modest there and tend to always wear t shirts or rash guards on top of their suits. Wear what you have be true to the convictions the creator has given you. And also read Isaiah 53 … many rabbis skip over that section of the Torah. I was raised as a Christian my whole life but wanted something deeper I was never taught about the Jewish roots of the true faith… I walked out of Christianity and into the Fathers truth and the love of my messiah. I keep the feast days and sabbaths as best as I know how. I cover and eat clean but trust me you will never know another love like the one one our Messiah has for you… HE died for all. Jew and non Jew and our messiah was Jewish ❤️ either way I’ll pray for you.. be encouraged young sister!

Modesty doesn’t mean shapeless. Modesty means not skimpy or super short length. We don’t need to cover our body shapes completely or cover our face completely to be “modest”.

Some observant Jewish women (especially Chasidic women) only wear loose-fitting clothing. Elbows are covered and skirt length is well below the knee.

I found the PERFECT one piece for this summer that I can pair with a swimsuit black skirt that matches with it… yes it’s still a one piece but lower extremities are covered. Hard for me NOT to wear some kind of swim suit when I have young kids that want to go into the water.

I am a Christian woman and bought myself a burkini. Because it is is not thight and it doesn’t show my curves. I would not feel comfortable in the “bathing suit” that you are wearing. Because we can always led others to sin unconsciously or consciously. We should always be covered.

I love that you are confident and comfortable in the burkini that you have. However, you shouldn’t say “we should always be covered”, because that’s not true for many people. I’m a passionate Christian and have been for my whole life, and I wear bikinis to the beach all the time. I personally believe that I won’t go to Hell just for wearing a bikini that shows off my body that I’m proud of. This is all my personal beliefs though, but have a nice day! 😊

If you’re a Christian you should know that there’s no specific way to be modest, there is no specific dress code. However if you want to cover drastically to that extent that’s your choice! Just remember men will lust no matter what you wear and their sin is not your responsibility. If you’re modestly dressed, it is not your responsibility that they’re lusting after you the same way they lust after someone who’s completely naked. This is why Jesus held the men accountable and said they if they looked at anyone lustfully they are the ones who’ve committed adultery in their hearts. It is THEIR sin, since a man of honor and Godly character will always lower his gaze to immodesty.

Just googled burkini, most of the results fit tight to the models ' body and do show the body's shape.. and once it's wet and the fabric weighs down, it will cling to you and show your body shape no matter what. No need to be passive aggressive and disrespectful! If you find her swimwear inadequate, that's really between her and God and not your business.

What we should think about as sisters in Christ is :Would Mary the mother of Jesus wear this? I personally don’t think so. Those women in those days were very modest and we should strive to be like them. Not worldly

Can you give an example of swimwear you'd consider modest enough? This is a whole outfit and MUCH more modest than any swimwear you can actually find in person in a store (at least in America, where I live.) Any more fabric on the outfit and swimming in it would be impractical and possibly even unsafe.

No, it's not allowed, nor is it allowed to have the scooping neckline with the collar bones exposed. And when one sits the knees still need to be covered and if you raise your arms the elbows need to be covered. Plus, this swim suit is too clingy and revealing. I won't even start with the long wig.

You should check out the men commenting on your channel and come to the conclusion that you are not adhering to any standard of modesty. The Zohar says a woman that is not modest in public is throwing her holy sparks that are meant only for her husband to the public's eyes. That will cause a spiritual riff between you and your husbnd because other men will be thinking immodest thoughts qbout you. If those men think about you and waste seed or think about you when they are intimate with their wife, you are held accountable for their avairot. Would you be comfortable with your rabbi viewing your videos? If I were you, I would be mortified.

According to Jewish law, the knees have to be covered even when you are seated. Too many women today are diluting and changing what is Torah law and thinking they are modest. There is not a darn thing about her dress or mannerisms that conforms to modesty.

Respectfully...just as you "CHOSE" to be modest in areas of your life, she and many other women have chosen to be modest in their behavior, attitude, and how they dress. Think about it... a bathing suit is underwear used while swimming. People don't walk around in regular underwear while in public. Its inappropriate and not even allowed. Being a modest women is not just an outward appearance, its also a humble submission to an authority like a husband or another male figure in a women's life. Before that it is done out of respect for the Creator and it is a different type of self respect as a women.
