Mutoid Man + Mrs. Piss + Filth is Eternal cover Soundgarden’s “4th of July”
Комедия
We covered the best Soundgarden song about Chris Cornell's favorite Oliver Stone movie. But seriously, The Fourth of July is a flawed holiday. To quote public affairs professor Peniel Joseph, America is "a country that continues to dishonor the sacrifices made by African American soldiers and ordinary citizens who bled for democracy in international conflicts and on domestic home fronts that denied them citizenship and dignity." This is not a day for celebration as long as the police keep murdering black people without facing justice. Luckily, this song is about an acid trip.

Please do not take this lightly. This is the most acceptable cover of a Soundgarden song I have ever heard. They were one of my favorite bands, but I cant really listen to them anymore without getting sad. I've been following you guys since the pilot, and never have I been more proud of you guys than this moment. You just about nailed it. Thank you. Happy 4th of July.

@ Sorry Dmitry I didn't make my point crystal clear. Like you say these are two vocalists combining their own registers in a harmonised two track setting. That's what choirs do of course to stack to make huge sounds. And here these guys do it very well. However, Chris (and ok sure a few other talented vocalists too) was able to use tracks to create 'choirs' of just himself. He could cover all the ranges on his own. And he was a master at it.
@atheonscribe1349
4 жыл бұрын
Are you under the impression that Chris didn't layer his vocals? One person, sure, but he didn't accomplish anything more than these two did. Same concept. Jordan hitting those high notes should be the focus of anything conversation pertaining to this cover. Fucking phenomenal.
@dingdong6069

@@atheonscribe1349 I'm a little baffled as to how my comment has been so misunderstood. I'm pretty aware of most aspects of recording - especially vocals as I'm a qualified sound engineer. I also roadied for Soundgarden back in '89 and also '90 so I'm quite intimately au fait with Chris's vocal. My comment was merely intended to say Chris was such an amazing talent he is difficult to cover. However, these two - in my humble opinion - did a mighty fine job. That's what I thought I'd said. If that isn't clear enough maybe just move on to another comment. Stay safe my friend!

Hi. Umm no. Chris was not singing two different notes at once. He layered his voice in the recording studio.
This channel has been the best thing about quarantine. Not sure if I’m getting cabin fever, but a comedian in corpse paint became my favorite vocalist in metal during the pandemic.

You did this one justice. Certainly one of my favorites from Soundgarden. The juxtaposition of pure sludge highlighted by Cornell's vibrant vocals is incredibly potent...
