While not from Seattle but still very much part of the scene, Scott Weiland was a tough loss as well. How close were we to losing so many others? How close ARE we to losing others? Master chef grunge god Chris Cornell. Grilled cheese and pizza was his favorite foods. Mostly pizza Before working at rays boathouse he was a pizza delivery guy. When I was younger I faintly remember being in a line and there was a bunch of old people naked in lines and I was behind a person and we were all facing a brick building. I wonder if my past life last breath on this earth was in a concentration camp

4th Of July Soundgarden Album: Superunknown Shower in the dark day Clean sparks diving down Cool in the waterway Where the baptized drown Naked in the cold sun Breathing life like fire Thought I was the only one But that was just a lie 'Cause I heard it in the wind And I saw it in the sky And I thought it was the end And I thought it was the fourth of July Pale in the flare light The scared light cracks and disappears And leads the scorched ones here And everywhere no one cares The fire is spreading And no one wants to speak about it Down in the hole Jesus tries to crack a smile Beneath another shovel load 'Cause I heard it in the wind And I saw it in the sky And I thought it was the end And I thought it was the fourth of July Heard it in the wind And I saw it in the sky And I thought it was the end And I thought it was the fourth of July Fourth of July, July Now I'm in control Now I'm in the fall out Once asleep but now I stand And I still remember your sweet everything Light a roman candle And hold it in your hand Heard it in the wind And I saw it in the sky And I thought it was the end And I thought it was the fourth of July Heard it in the wind And I saw it in the sky And I thought it was the end And I thought it was the fourth of July, yeah Written by: CHRIS CORNELL Lyrics © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC, BMG RIGHTS MANAGEMENT US, LLC ℗ 1994 A&M Records

For Soundgarden to reunite and be playing and putting out new music was incredible. Chris Cornell still sounded amazing, even years later. but I bet after the shows, and when he wasn't working or spending time with his family, Chris Cornell's thoughts of depression probably got to him. when he was alone, he probably found it difficult to quite the noise in his head. he wasn't happy, despite his outward appearance. his death is very sad.

And maybe 2months ago, i put on Superunknown album and everything clicked, the band made sense to me. Its an aquired taste that takes more than a few listens to really embrace every second of the music. Even the minimal moments. And thats the beautiful part of this band. Jimmy Page just standing in the background, off stage. Could you fucking imagine? 😮 Yeah... the Led Zeppelin guitarist just casually shows up now & then. & we just have him stand side stage. Like, wtf? Omg, what an honor to have them as fans!

Around 5:18 min mark Surreal moment to see Jimmy Page checking out the band that critics compared to his band, in the early years. A comparison that isn't necessarily unwarranted but also, Soundgarden was their own thing. A different beautiful beast altogether.
