Come to think of it, in it's chord structuring and melody, so did "Black Hole Sun"... I could hear the Beatles in their later years easily do EITHER of those songs and think SoundGarden were doing cover versions. That's actually a compliment, by the way.

This man was an oracle...April 1994 Chris took some acid then decided to take a walk down the Native American reservation..lo and behold voices spoke to him comforting feelings attracted like he wasn't alone in a dreamy like conciousness yet whenever he looked back only glimpses of this spirit telling him to listen and write so Cornell did and we have this GLORIOUS MESSAGE we should heed "4th of July" was for us a warning of CERN and its capabilities with the Hadron Collider. ..YES he struggled with depression and substance abuse but he LOVED LIFE he did not take his own life..he was sent here to link us together not tear us apart.. FOREVER GREATFUL RIP CHRIS CORNELL!!!

Looking back, I'm so glad I was there.
I’ve been a major fan of Chris’s for a year now, and despite being very aware of his passing, it’s only just really hit me that I will never, ever get the privilege of seeing him live. I‘d just turned 17 when he passed, so I’m not sure it would have been possible anyway. Still... Damn.

some how or another I missed this song in my childhood years, which idk how. at now 32 acouple of years ago I heard it for the first time and its at the top of my soundgarden songs.
