MUSTANGS of our WILD WEST October 2017
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
From snow to brilliant blue skies and everything in-between, but no matter when we have incredible wild horses in our midst. Headed to the range in the morning, it rained hard at home in western Oregon, but a winter wonderland at the Cascade mountain range summit crossing over it to get the east side. Dropping down from the summit- quite nice with varied shades of spotty clouds dropping rain curtains and casting cloud shadows.
The weather matters not, when we've got wild mustangs in our midst.

THESE GORGEOUS HORSES ARE ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING. SO FREE AND GRACEFUL BEING A PROUD BAND OF WILD THEROBREADS.
Wow absolutely breathtaking my personal favorite was definitely renegade and Lupine it’s still sad that they both lost their freedom but lupine is now living the life at skydog sanctuary Rest in piece renegade(passed at skydog sanctuary after accidentally rolling on something sharp)you will be missed renegade but never forgotten

What beauty you see in the mustang. They all look so happy and free ! From someone who never got her dream, a horse of my own .
Quarter horses beauty
They are so beautiful and I am about to cry after only watching the first minute and a half. Thank you so much for posting this. I do not have horses but I always have wanted one or some. I usually cry when I see or have to leave one I am around so I may just watch this a lot and dream. I assume the rest of the video is great and captures the spirit of the mustang that a lot of us have.
This was meant for me to see today as last night when I was trying to fall asleep I was trying to picture wild mustangs sleeping then also just hanging out with their herd, etc. Thanks so much!!!!!!
I love the relaxing music while I watch this movie!!
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video with us . It's such a privilege to be able to have a glimpse into lives of these amazing wild mustangs ! Thank you for being their voice and helping us also to be their voice !

Thank you for allowing me to roam the Wide Open Spaces with these Amazing Wild Mustangs! Your video gives me peace and great pleasure. I may not be able to ride any longer but I can still dream. Your video allows me to remember my days spent with the sweet and salty smell of my horse and riding the fields. Thank you for all that you do to keep our Mustangs Free.

Beautiful footage, thank you🤗✌️
They are so amazing, thankyou
😍¡totalmente. Hermoso!!
Beautiful horses keep them safe
I like and love your works best of luck sister
The Hispanic blood is palpable in these horses, amazing. Don't know why they aren't protected as landrace. The main features of a hispanic-berber horse like this are the thick neck, the convex profile of the head, small hipbone compared to the body, important musculature in a light and solid body frame.
Wooow beautiful horses
Just... stunning
Mustang are wonderful horses.I had one of my purebred Arabian mares bred to a stallion out of Wyoming. He bred true.An the filly looked just exactly like him.
Thank you for the video!

Ricochet is quite special,
wow, gorgeous, thank you!
Amazingly beautiful, thank you so much!
That horse, Ricochet, is probably the most beautifully-colored horse I have ever seen! Hopefully his genes can be passed to many horses!

So good to see this Sonya, Thank you for sharing. Beautiful to see these horses in the wild where they belong and are happy! Hard to pick a favorite but I would lean towards Nevada. Do you think it helps to write your congress even from Canada? Very best to you always! Cheers, Pete

Great video of many favorite South Steens of mine. Takes my breath away. Does anyone know what happened to Chockotay after he was rounded up?! It breaks my heart not knowing where he is. Saige is a favorite mare; Dante’, Nevada, Red Vogue, Shaman, Renegade (I follow his journey with Stacie Thomas). All favorites plus a few more in this. Wonderful video!

Hi Vonna, Glad you asked bc just today I heard that both Chokotay and Atlas are at Carson City Correctional Center in NV and both are available as SA (sales authority) to find out about them contact Wild Horse & Burro Specialist John Axtell. 👍 1 jaxtell @ blm.gov
Beautyful.
I don't know if you already have one or not but I would recommend a windsock for your microphone to cut back on windblown noise. Your videos are amazing, second best only to being there in person! It's always been my dream to do what you are doing, maybe one day when I grow up
Black print over black? Cannot read that. Nice video though.
Do you ever do Antelope valley NV? My mare I adopted but still have not gotten her yet is from there.
How often do you get out there to see these Mustangs? They sure seem to trust you, amazing.

Thanks for sharing with me your wonderful videos! Often times I wondered what was going on is Southeast Oregon, now I have a good feeling about the area. As a retired wedding/portrait photographer I appreciate visiting the area via KZread. It would not hurt to include a photo or two of yourself. It would help tell the story more completely. Are you doing people photography as well?
@MustangMeg

I don't do people photography, just wild critters.. and the wilder the better :) I have an album in photos in my facebook fb page "Mustang Meg", and my biography. Feel free to roam through. facebook.com/pg/mustangmeg1/photos/?tab=album&album_id=10152602337608956

Thank you for this video. I keep wondering how a predator prey relationship might be reestablished. Horses were domesticated far from the United States. It was common to bring horses across the ocean. Yet is seems unthinkable to bring their predators. And what were their predators? Watching zebra get preyed upon might reveal some potential predators. Cheetah. Lions. What are the similarities between lions in Africa and Mountain lions in the Americas in terms of how they hunt? Might we bring tigers to America?

I've heard it said that it's never a good idea to feed wild horses because of their digestive systems. Is that true? Sounds reasonable.
@MustangMeg
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, never feed them, the range takes good care of them. And if you adopt one, very slowly transition feed, beginning with dry grass hay.
Any horse person can tell they are not mustangs,we should protect mustangs!!
Please don't take this the wrong way. I think it's awesome that you video the horses out there, though I'm curious... why are you giving them names? They aren't yours. They're wild and free.. with no name given to them by humans. Isn't naming something claiming it?

Hi Laura, glad you asked. Oregon has about 17 different herd areas, and we apply "rangenames" to the South Steens to help track/identify & learn mustang behavior and understand better their complex societies. To learn about specific the mustangs, we've assigned range names rather than numbers. I work with about a dozen regular photographers and we often communicate and document them on fb page South Steens Wild Horses where mustangs have their own albums we all contribute to and learn year to year what each one... or what bands are up to. On other HMAs, we really don't apply names... sometimes a standout may end up "earning" a nickname for ease of communication among photographers, but typically, we are concentrating on this one particular herd management area. To learn more about the South Steens wild horses, visit our page and roam through the albums: facebook.com/SouthSteensWildHorses/ Thanks for the great question!

Its so annoying to hear those voices interrupting a magnificent sight without adding any useful information
fi
None of those look like mustangs!!
