I have the exact same car, and all the roads around my apartment are 25 to 45 mph. And I'm never in 5th gear.

I daily drive a 2005 Ford Mustang GT. It is a great car to drive, but I wouldn't recommend owning one if you live in an area that reaches 100 degree Fahrenheit. The side panel leather usually peel off after a few years and my car experienced issues with its engine cooling system during the warmest times of the year. Where I live temperatures can reach 110 on a summer day, but while I was in Los Angeles where temperatures usually reach 80 degrees Fahrenheit I never experienced any issues.

It could be your coolant. I had a few issues with engine heat but I got a Mishimoto aluminum radiator, a custom hood to allow more cold air in and Mishimoto’s Liquid Chill synthetic coolant.

Is there any safety mechanism that prevent you from going into reverse while driving ?

Huy Luu Nope my parents have one and when I was driving I realized that there is not safety mechanism for reverse.

if you drive a 5spd with the reverse being below the 5th gear and accidentally shift into reverse i dont want to know what happens but you shouldnt be driving a manual transmission for that being.

jeffrey aguilar I didn't say I had trouble with it, I said that I noticed that. I don't have an issue but some people might. Plus when people are racing they do have miss shifts and it is kinda smart just in case you are in a corner and downshift fast and accidentally miss shift into reverse.

Yeah i get what your saying but when i was learning how to drive stick it was in a 94 civic hatch b18 and i never shifted wrong i just wouldnt time the clutch and gas pedal right so when i shifted it would grind the shit out of it , this was because i was new to it and was eager to learn how to race it before properly learning how to drive the manual transmission lol but i never went to like 5th gear from 2nd instead of 3rd
