I literally eat the chutneys by themselves the raitas and the try to avoid some things that aren't good for us and yet you can have some of that too but I really like to I can eat with a spoon both of them I mean Ray says chutneys to tamarind Chinese mint Chinese especially love mint chutney and I eat them as much as I can and the raitas I just eat them by themselves I mean you know it's so good you don't even have to need anything with it that's how good it is

Chetna, can I say a big thank you for the written instructions/actions below while you are cooking. My daughter who is hard of hearing in her forties, can follow your recipe while she cooks it. Maria 🇬🇧 Ps. So happy to see you using your hands as well. Do not trust a cook/chef that doesn’t use their original implements we were born with or taste their cooking 😂😂

I'm so happy to see this thicker, lush tamarind chutney! My one complaint with tamarind chutney is it's too runny - but from now on, my homemade version won't be. Thanks!

Pretty much everything I make has to be freezer friendly. Pre-made everything and make homemade 'ready meals'. I LOVE the fact these can be frozen, game changer for me. I wish we could post photos here of the things we make in response to your videos ❤

Those pesky rock hard dates! Thank you Chetna for this recipe video. I think my family just used sugar instead of jaggery, probably out of convenience, but can't wait to try it.

A tip, when pushing anything through a sieve use a ladle, the bowl shape fits the sieve perfectly. And thanks for these recipes, as you say a good chutney makes a meal .

You might want to try using a food mill or a chinois to press the pulp through on the date and tamarind chutney. That might save you some labor because those tools are specifically for what you are doing there

You can use regular sugar. Don't skip the sweetness altogether, though... tamarind is VERY sour

Sure you can. The sugar doesn't over-sweeten the chutney, it just harmonises and balances the other flavours.
