If salah is a choice, if hijab is a choice, if fasting is a choice, if riba is ok due to convenience, if all religions are acceptable and all lead to the same destination, if congratulating everyone on their festivals which are based on false beliefs, if accepting lifestyle choices that contradict Allah’s laws etc…, then what is the point of Islam? @I I was making a different point. Sorry I was not clear. What you are saying is true. What I’m saying is that when people are choosing for themselves what is good and what not then obviously the religion in question is not “strong” enough for their believers to hold on to the initial rules. If Muslims are choosing when to do what while the Quran specifically explains when and how then that makes Islam weak in my eyes. Shouldn’t a religion be strong enough for people not to make their own rules?

I wish you had mentioned the sexual immorality when talking about abortion because if a woman becomes pregnant with her husband then it's far more likely that she won't even think about abortion and that she will be the happiest woman ever for becoming pregnant with the man she loves. My logic tells me that a woman will regret becoming pregnant only if she is pregnant with someone she had casual intercourse with which is insane. Something so immoral and damaging to our society became the norm and something that teenagers talk about and brag about. And if you don't do it you're not considered "cool" and you become "weird" and you're a "loser". I remember when I was younger I felt embarrassed to say that I never kissed a girl.

Can I give you guys some constructive critique? This is if your videos are not to humiliate someone that has erred and to win hearts and minds. You can be firm in your message and stance but brother Ali in particular lacks eloquence of speech. I know this is a discussion/ reaction video but if you had maybe 2-3 points in rebuttal to the sister's position it would serve you better. I don't think comments like 'your soul is dead bruv' is useful to anyone. I hope it doesn't cause offence, I just think we should strive to add meaningful value to conversations with an end goal in mind- whether that goal is the remind Muslims or to give dawah. (The brother on the left I think thought out his responses much better).

(not all obviously) but it wasn’t uncommon to see a women fighting with a sword. So the argument of "thousands of years of nurture" is somewhat invalid bc they were taught to fight unlike women now

Feminism is a very flawed ideology and I’ve been a feminist to certain extent in my teen years but as I grew I realized there is no room in feminism in Islam. I said that I wasn’t a feminist in front of a large group of sisters and I make my stand about feminism very clear. At first people will not be on board with you like they might not like you but if you hold onto your belief they will end up respecting you. They understand I am not a feminist and that I will never be one so they just left me alone.

We do not shame women to be stay at home moms and if they choose careers but we do not hate on men either. @17:00 exactly we Muslims need to realize that. It’s not just a matter of taking the stances of your religion, it’s a matter that could take you out of the fold of Islam and that is if you insist on taking the side of falsehood knowing the danger of that on your Islamic aqeedah.

Unfortunately I get a feeling most american muslim youth thinks this way. And many are not even aware these opinions cannot be reconciled with Islam

I'm a bit conflicted by this video. On one hand, I think comparing a woman's hijab to police attire in terms of representation might be too much pressure for your everyday Muslimah to bear, and may further discourage them from wearing it. There really isn't an equivalent for males because our hijab is what everyone wears for the most part. On the other, this woman made the active choice of appearing on this show which guarantees millions of views to offer her point of view as an American Muslim woman. Because of that, we can't ignore the responsibility she placed on herself by doing that which is why this video is necessary.

I think the answers she gave were fair according to the place and time she lives in. I think looking up to people as representation of Islam is not fair as well. No human is 100% perfect in their believes and Iman. We have to go back on the rules and laws of Islam and then judge the answers she gave.

@@sz.1up541 if iman had a radar, we all have been like prophet Mohammed SAW but there is no way to measure someone's iman and we all make choices according to the level of iman we have. Women in Islam are free of the responsibility of representing or teaching what the rules and laws of Islam are so I don't think we need to take her seriously in that regard or even call her a representative of Islam. This sentence itself is flawed.

Our eman is weak but abhorring and shedding light on something wrong is what makes you a human. It seems foolish to debate and react on such topics but these people do exist who tries to alter the Islamic principles and present them in the way they want to follow. We should as well focus on the big picture.

@@sz.1up541 don't worry, I wasn't trying to assume that men and women should have same level of 'burden' or anything in terms of hijab. It was just to emphasize that it's difficult enough for Muslim women when they stand out in a non-Muslim society simply by complying with hijab, and as you said, there's no need for additional pressure on top of that.

@@msmhao Our bodies and souls belong to Allah and we are created by Allah. "My body, my choice," is a stupid saying. We don't choose how we look or what incidents may occur with our bodies.

Good points raised, lesson for all of us is to work with those who for whatever the reason are weaker in their conviction and belief by correcting them in a supportive manner. Essentially we need to have a strong marketing style strategy to win over as a lot of young people are facing huge pressure from their environment and are pandering to all crazy ideology just to fit in. Some people are not strong or are in very difficult places so often choose the easy way out to survive in Dunia. I realise just this point from chatting with my teenage kids!

Jazakallah for commenting on abortion. I feel that most conversations about abortion focus on a child’s right to life vs. parents’ rights only. Inevitably it becomes men telling women what to do or women telling men etc situation. Would it be possible for you to speak more about this issue so as to show how Islam’s stance on abortion is merciful and practical? How Allah swt considers all stakeholders for their benefit in His ruling on the matter? ie, Islam bans abortion except under certain circumstances it is allowed. A feminist (perhaps even Muslim men and women) would be amazed, for example, to learn how much Islam values the life of a pregnant mother even over her unborn child in certain circumstances. There’re lots of literature online regarding abortion in Islam for those interested in learning more on their own. However, your channel is popular and is good at reaching a different type of audience, so would love to see the topic covered in more depth and with nuance. Finally, though the onus is on each individual to learn about their own belief, it is sad that growing up in the West and into adulthood, all we as Muslims mostly focus on is how to perfect our prayers, make day long duas, and what clothes to wear. Those are of course important, but the hyper emphasis does not help us to learn how to deal with the many other needs of this life.

As Ali mentionned this is a matter of Aqeedah The more you work on your Aqeedah the more you get closer to Allah and the whole vision becomes clear.

Haven’t watched the entire video but I feel like women who agree with abortion purely based on the point that “people shouldn’t decide what women do with their bodies” are just so stubborn and full of pride. Just to “prove your point” you’re ok with the massacre of innocent babies. Secondly, it’s not your body. It’s the body of a human who doesn’t have the ability to speak up for him/herself so you think it’s ok to get rid of him/her.

@@homtanks7259 As a male I do not keep a beard, some scholars agree that keeping a beard isn't necessarily needed anymore as it's become a way for men to style their faces. Same applies with the headscarf, scholars are now claiming that it isn't obligated. I'm not saying I agree or disagree, I'm only conveying perspectives.

I'm just repeating what the majority of scholars say on the subject. Of course there are situations in life where you cannot practice freely as a Muslim or are even prevented from living a dignified life, such as in China or India and now also in some European countries where wearing the headscarf is becoming too dangerous. May Allah increase our knowledge and protect the Muslims Worldwide, amin.

You need to react to this new short episode of how to be a person on E4 . I came across this one episode on a snapchat advert called how to have an abortion and it shows a Muslim girl (that is apparently practicing as she is shown praying namaz and talking about ramadan ect) who has an abortion and her dad is "supportive" cuz he's a "feminist" or something...I really didn't understand any of it but it was absolutely disgusting and is in a way promoting abortion aswell as zina, making it seem "ok" to have boyfriends/girlfreinds as a Muslim. This is soo confusing for the youth and I hate the fact that actions like these are now being promoted to Muslims... May Allah guide us through this fitna! Edit: just to let you know this episode was apparently based on a true story and the girl chose to abort because she just didn't want the child (no other health reasons)

This man is absolutely murdering this girl’s character to the point of calling her a munafiq and conflating her points (esp with the “should women run the world” question. Overkill for no reason except AS IF it’s to flaunt the vast amount of knowledge you have over her. Btw, are we also going to hold Muslim men with visible beards just as accountable as these visibly hijabi women? Or are we only applying that judgement full force on women?

what Ali said about tawakkul biAllah is so important, really good remark, especially because of all the issues that we face today thinking its the end of the world. its not the end of the world, its Allahs plan.

I think that just because she has a hijab, doesnt mean she should "know everything about islam" shes just trying to please Allah swt with her hijab. Do you mean she should wait until she has all the knowledge and then put on the hijab? Also you guys are assuming a lot which is not good in our religion ( and mostly assuming bad things and connecting it to the sister) . Maybe she meant that abortion should be legal but not up 6 and 7 months ( please note that the question she answered didnt even mention anything about how far into ur pregnancy u should have the right to abort) I appreciate the dawah brothers but this felt like an attack with evil assumption on the sisters intention and answers . Dear Atheist (this question is not to mock you). Do u believe that all this created by no one? Just reflect on nature , your own body ... would you think that we don't have creator? (If u say we evolved out of nothing , then where is the minimum gene concept ). Allah has created us and sent us message (manual how to lead life) and we would return to him one day. Now our job is to understand that message and follow it. Now we have so many religions and messages , now we need to identify the truth from falsehood and follow it.

Assalamualaikum, i would like to ask you an question, this got nathing to do with this video... my questions is, is it inavation after praya is it ok to make dua, and also after praya you shouldnt raise your hand and make dua as well. As far as i know after praya you shouldnt raise your hand and make dua. if so can you show me the evidence, i used to do that. but i researched and as far as i know, your dua will not be accepted. I would like you to correct me wrong if I'm mistaking. but will need you to show proof from quran and hadith! As far as i know you can make dua before saying taslim or on sadjah. making dua after praya and raising your hand and then finshing dua with wiping your hand on your face is an inavation. This is something bothering me I just wanted to know the authentic way of making dua, and also which praya im allowed to make dua. i want to stay away from inavation.

Why not just state this is wrong & give the person some beneficial advice instead of completely insulting her to the world? You never know where people are in the phases of their lives. This is terrible & unislamic. I cringe everytime you get together to talk badly about an individual.

The way these folks edit their videos, I wonder if she made a statement similar to "operating with in the rules of Islam where it is allowable I believe the right is there and that right should not be removed."
