We must think on the possibility that the people that finance Peterson are not interested into bringing someone like Muhammad Hijab into their chamber and make their audience realize that Islam is much more than what they actually hear about. A lot of those speakers are financed by Israel or Zionist lobbies, like for example Ben Saphiro whom Muhammad Hijab gave a debate proposal. Inviting someone like Hijab would be giving publicity to a muslim and making their people start to reflect and think "Hey, actually these muslims have some very good arguments and points, i might reseach more deeply into their faith", which would be counterproductive to their objective, which is to give Islam this image of evil that they have generated through years and years, therefore erradicate it and promote their personal agendas, like for example the normalization of the state of Israel.

Jordan Peterson is a man AND a business. He has employees and advisors around him looking to maximize his brand. Make money and stay relevant for as long as possible is certainly one goal for them. Unlikely he will have a podcast anytime soon. He canceled with Hamza Yusuf also. An educated and well spoken Muslim is very dangerous in today's media cesspool.

@Saad491 The word 'warlord' may not be the 100% technically correct term linguistically, but it's still a quite accurate way of describing Muhammad... Sometimes languages don't have an exact singular word to describe the thing you're talking about, so you just have to use the next closest one. Perhaps warmonger is a more accurate word to describe him.

I can't help but think that Dr. Peterson's misconceptions and mischaracterizations of Islam is due to prejudice, rather than a truly informed decision. Since he already admitted he knows very little about Islam, why does he insist on giving his observations and understandings about it, that are demonstrably factually incorrect? Dr. Peterson--like all of us--has his cognitive biases. He should recognize this and speak--or stay silent--as appropriate.

Three years ago I was struggling with Islam until I found Peterson. In one of his lecture series discussing responsibility of individuals (Either the mythological series or Personality one) he stated the importance of returning to your culture of identity and tradition in order to find the fragments therein which can save you. I spent years running from Islam, but it wasn't until gaining clarity from Petersons point that I finally accepted Islam. Its an intriguing thing, that a western intellectual figure who's spiritual allegiance is with the foundational wisdom of the christian tradition was able to teach me the beauty and benefit of Islam as a secondary effect. From what I gather, Peterson sympathises with the Christian canon as that is his spiritual inheritance as a westerner, which he has stated many times and coming from a Jungian background he applies a deeper psychological dimension to scripture that his contemporaries haven't, thus widening the scope of scripture and illuminating its wisdom. I don't think, or at least I would hope to believe that Peterson is not someone who is here on this earth at this time to aid in the clash of narratives and spread a spiritual civil-war between two religions of Abraham's tradition; Islam and Christianity, as he has often stated his lack of understanding when referencing Islam and is succinctly aware of the many Muslims who love his work and message. It makes me wonder, if Peterson spent the better part of his life studying Christianity from a psychological point of view (amongst many other endeavors), what type of individual he would be if alongside Christianity he gave Islam its due diligence, what kind of calibre of figure would we be dealing with? But for me, he has contributed 'enough', but if he does decide to theologically and academically pursue Islam without bias in search for truth he'd be unquestionably a great unifying figure of our time. If Peterson maintains that Muhammad (PBUH) was indeed a 'Warlord' and stands by this statement it would be a real shame moving forwards, as he is effectively ending the discussion between faiths unfortunately resulting to a misconception and common strawman. Peterson if you are reading this, I a Muslim have learned so much from you, thank you, but please consider your legacy of pursuing truth.

It seems Muslims doesn't even understand who a prophet really mean, ordained prophets never go to war or married thirteen wife's and also using sword to kill innocent people because of religion but God never force any human to worship him, so religion is not by force, and you must understand after the death and the resurrection of Jesus no prophet can retaliate that is why Jesus and his disciples were persecuted but never fight back because under the new covenant prophets are not allowed to fight or kill, so why Mohammed can say I'm a prophet of God even the last prophet and you defiled yourself with women everywhere, pls Muslims go and read the Torah well and who was Mohammed at all to say the Torah is corrupted while even Jesus the anointed one was on Earth he didn't condemned the Torah but fulfilled it according Matthew 5- 17 so you see why Mohammed was a false prophet?

The problem with most christians is that they pick and choose which parts of the Bible to apply to what they think their religion should be. They also change the meanings of words to fit their own interpretations. Jesus alayhis Salam never had enough of a following to wage any wars against anyone yet he still was ready to fight accoding to their Bible when he told his disciples to go and get swords when he knew the soldiers were coming for him. “He said to them, ‘When I sent you out without a purse, bag, or sandals, did you lack anything?’ They said, ‘No, not a thing.’ He said to them, ‘But now, the one who has a purse must take it, and likewise a bag. And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one. For I tell you, this scripture must be fulfilled in me, “And he was counted among the lawless”; and indeed what is written about me is being fulfilled.’ They said, ‘Lord, look, here are two swords.’ He replied, ‘It is enough.’” (LUKE 22:35-38) Of course they do not interpret it in the litteral fashion and abstract it beyond all comprehension to meet their idea of who Jesus alayhis Salam was. The Bible is a book with multiple authors and editors who are unknown, left open to interpretation by anyone who finds it, with no blueprint as to how it should be understood.

They're only capable of dealing w/ haters or those whose 1st language isn't English so they can run verbal & mental gymnastics around.. imo having someone like Hijab whose young, has a full grasp of 21st century culture & thriving western idealogies & the ability articulate his thoughts & ideas better than they possibly could is a major threat & more dangerous than having any shaykh or imam on.. guys like Hijab & Br Subhoor is a major red flag among those Rogan circles..

Do not tell me that someone who is supposedly looking for meanings in this world and trying to investigate every idea throughout human history (including religions, literature, novels, and historical figures) is ignorant about Islam! He is ignorant because he chose to be ignorant in purpose. There's no excuse for a person claiming to be a researcher and intellectual to say I am ignorant about Islam. I mean in his books he wrote about aspects in Hindusim and Buddhism. He wrote some aspects about historical figures such as Genghis Khan! But suddenly he didn't find time to sreach and read about Islam which is the basis of life for the 1/6 population of the earth? How come? How come to neglect Islam which provides a complete comprehensive way of life from micro to macro things? Jordan is biased, and he let his pride to block him from finding the truth! He orders another attack and the killing of all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses (Joshua 6). In Judges 21 He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife

This is not about being intellectual! This is basic history! The prophet doesn't qualify in any way shape or form the "warlord" criterion, its a western propaganda tool which has been successful due to the blatant ignorance about Islam and its civilization in the west.

This was such a good video that I felt it's a duty for me to like it and support it! God bless you, and those who uphold the honor of the Holy Prophet (s). I think the comparison of a 'god' and a human is not a problem, because the point of Peterson is that Christians uphold a guide who is peaceful. My own view, besides being in agreement with everything else you said, is that it is intellectually immature to assume that peace is the absence of war. If there was no war, there would never be peace, which is achieved by establishing justice, especially where it is being violated. Are antibodies agents of peace for the body or not? The real issue of discussion is whether the purpose and method of war in Islam is unjust or not.
