You know how Jae questioned whether he has found his voice, like what is his unique sound? i think he found it. his vocals hit me so hard specifically in this song, esp in the 2nd chorus. ofc we'll see what else he has up his sleeve creatively/artistically, but it just felt like he found his sonic fingerprint here.

the whole album felt like a warm hug saying goodbye, i don’t know how to describe it in another way

The reaction to Wonpil's high note was a MOOD

For me "You make me" feels more like the continuation of Even of Day's sound. And the fact Young K and Wonpil are credited as the songwriters makes me feel it even more xD This song is bittersweet like "Where the sea sleeps" and the vocals of those two really stand out. But I think it's a pretty neat decision to sing this song together - by that Day6 connect all their albums and put a beautifuil end to The Book of Us series.

I was like WHAT IS UP WITH THIS GUYS..THEY SLEEPING OR WHAT? I waiiittteeed for this reaction.I feel like you represent us MYDAYS.

Although the album has a very emotional vibe to it, to me all of the instrumentals have that very characteristic cheerful, delicate yet fun Day6-like tone. This is the magic of their music, conveying powerfully such different sides of the spectrum.

Many MyDay said that the theory behind the MV was that the girl was already de*d. At the beginning, the guy is dying and hallucinating his girl is waiting for him. That's why in the beginning scene, the tone colour of the girl is blue and dark. When they were at the gas station, the guy was actually di*d (indicated by the sound of the heart rate). When the guy opens his eyes, they are already in the same world, that's why the tone colour of both of them is yellow-bright. And also the scene when there's a footstep at the beach imagines that the girl walking to the sea (another world). Cmiiw

I've seen this theory a lot, but I prefer to think of it as the footprints = he almost gave up and imagined her going on without him. But then her love brought him back and made him decide to keep holding on. That's why he smiles sheepishly at her when he wakes up -- because he realizes that him trying to hide his pain instead of letting her help him through it was actually more painful for both of them. I feel like that parallels Jae and Sungjin opening up about their own struggles to us.

In addition to the theory, the place where they are is "where the sea sleeps" from Day6 even of day. Yeah, basically they"re dead and the "where the sea sleeps" is the afterlife.

Not sure if you guys noticed, but YoungK's part in the first chorus has somewhat the same melody as Wonpil's part in the chorus of Where the Sea Sleeps. Since I did listened to those parts side by side and I find it fascinating that they both sound the same.

To be honest, when I first listened to it I was a bit confused because I thought there's a lot going on though they flawlessly shift from one chord (i don't know the right term sorry) Every part shocks me. As I listen to it repeatedly, it just gets better and better. Day6 always surprises me. The part that really surprises me here is the electronic-like (?) sound before the chorus and Wonpil's high note. I like how Wonpil flawlessly belted it.

From this album everyday we fight and above the clouds where my absolute favorite. Also I desperately need a "pure" version of you make me with just the clean sound of the guitar, base, and drums with the same tempo.

Can’t wait for the reaction for the rest of the album. All the songs in this album are SO good!
