This is very awesome. The series is to show how short people live and shine, when the time flows and seems still even its ever-changing. Those little sparks and memory just came out as so precious, and how humanity can be prestige if a man could hold the bravery, wisdom and kindness. This strikes hard even a nihilist like me.

Thanks for reacting to Yoasobi’s songs. They do every piece of music or song based on a novel or story. So, we can always read the novel or story and feel how it attaches to the music. Yoasobi call themselves as using music to tell stories. 😊

That piano is sooo good!! I wonder if the red bird carries significance since it showed up throughout the intro, but it is hard to guess how it played a role. Maybe it means the freedom that the journey brings. I like the collaboration and maybe Yoasobi will continue to collaborate with other animes. I just feel like her voice is versatile and the anime just helps visualize the tone.

People aren't hating on Yoasobi because it's a bad song. People are hating on the anime staff for choosing Yoasobi because of their fame even though their sound doesn't match the vibe of Frieren at all.

@@Meinyaa it doesn't match the vibe of Frieren only if you look at it only at a surface level. Thematically and lyrically speaking, it fits Frieren to a tee. The opening isn't like that just to be happy, for it is a song that celebrates the hero, friend of Frieren that once lived and had died a long life worth living. It is a song that chooses to be happy that they had existed and lived their lives, rather than being somber in the fact that they have passed. There will be many regrets towards those you love, many things you wish you'd have said when they were alive, but in the end, rather than wallowing in sadness, you should celebrate the fact that they were a part of your life, that they brought color to your world.

YOASOBI is a unit that sings stories such as novels as songs. Unless you request Ayase alone, but basically all the songs when you are working on "YOASOBI" There is a source of novels, etc., and I'm composing from that image. Even YOASOBI's idol is based on what the original author transcribed the novel. Akasaka, the original author, transcribed it for this song. Funeral Freelen is also one of the novels included in a framework called light novels.

it is true tho that the song is not fitting, well to be more clear I mean the MELODY PART. The lyrics is good and fitting, but the melody is just too hypie and techno, which is not really fitting to the series. People dont hate on the song and Yaosobi, the song itself is amazing, but not fitting. Also, I am not a professional music artist, so if you are going to reply that I do not have any right to criticize the song because I am not a professional music artist, there you go.
