Since episode 3 when the soldier thought he had been cursed, jinshi has been looking for a person with burns which he believes would be a spy passing and receiving secret messages using wooden tablets powdered in colorful burning minerals. he mistakenly thinks that that incident and the attempted poisoning are related. He is wrong as there are actually 4 different and independent intrigues going on in the inner and outer palace. the first concerns the attempted poisoning of consort jinshu and apparent truth of the death of the emperors first son, the second has to do with the reason why the white powder was spread in the palace in the first place and therefore the death of the emperors second son, including the secret message tablets, several of the accidents and murders, the third has to da with jinshis actual rank ant the palaces traditions and laws of succession, and the 4th is about maomaos familie history. only one of the 4 is resolved in the first season.

Jinshi pulled a reverse uno card, gave the aphrodisiac made by Maomao to a female palace servant and made her seduce the "woman hating" (gay) military officer as revenge.

hearing how you didn't get into KH3 but played 1 & 2, thats my experience to, but i think i have a reason for it. in KH 1 & 2 you really feel like sora is a hero, he's saving hte world and his friends, and he's awesome. then in KH3 the story goes out of it's way to basically say that sora isn't special, everyone else is, but he's just an NPC, and his entire ability to use the keyblade isn't even his own, he's just borrowing ventas's power, and should ventas every get restored then the assumption is that sora would go back to being an unpowered NPC. and i got really frustrated with the story trying to jam that narrative down our throats

It was considered tradition for a fallen Crusader to be left in their armor wherever they fell, as their armor was effectively their tomb and would stand as a testament to their legendary dying actions. Also, a Crusader's shield was considered their "Honor" and their hammer was "Glory" so when the two of them exchange the "Live with Honor, Die with Glory" lines at the end, they literally both end up following through on the order the other gives them.

You should look up their live performance of ‘Tokyo Calling” at Coachella with the drum and horn sections of the USC Marching Band. They performed perfectly together. That was the first time I heard of them, been a fan since!

JUst watching your Reaction of one of my all time favorite films. In regards to your remorse over Benjamin leaving Daisy. Realistically and ultimately it was for the best. He needed to live the life of a youth and Daisy needed to have time to start over with a new man for the baby. It would not have worked going in two different directions. What was great is that he returned home to be cared for by people who knew and loved him.

The apothecary diaries is one of the few 10/10 anime’s I’ve watched in 2023 I’m so glad you’re reacting to it!!💕 it’s has an amazing premise, one which I’m also new to but it was fun learning things and maomao felt like such a fresh character too

I’m not sure that was the intro version cause I beleive the true intro version sounds drastically different and even has different lyrics. That sounded like the shortened version attached to the video for the intro.

This is a fictional nation very strongly based on 15-16 century china (some limited but important contact with the west, but not for the main public). Warning: some modern knowledge you'll see are modern in the west, but they were known, in the form presented here, for much longer in the east. It is dangerous to try to apply modern western interpretation: exemple: "I want you to..." & "could you..." from a superior are both orders, but the first come with autority and power, the other it's on you to make it happen, trying to use autority over you station/place would end in punishment. Finaly: servant girls are commoners, ladies-in-waiting are usualy minors noble daughter or very influencial/rich families daughter. Ladies-in-waiting commoners are rare and distiguished from "normal" ladies-in-waiting, if you wonder why Maomao isn't dressed as the others. (As a sevant, she was dressed the same as the others since they were all from the same class/station)

To add to this, they wait upon the higher ranking person, having the same root word as waiter. They usually come from lower ranking noble/wealthy families. In fiction it will be a crap shoot if you get a lady in waiting who is willing to wait upon (serve) the higher ranked person, or if they consider themselves too high born to actually do work.
