Jason - I have the Chiaras with the Maria 800 (Older model using the birchwood) - I will say that this is one amazing system. Instruments (especially piano) and voices just sound more real. The bass is incredible w/ the active crossover. It doesn't hurt that I have an amazing server (Innuos) and reclocker (Ideon) with the "best" cables (Kubala Sosna) GREAT interview with Mark here and I hope you have a great trip in Europe!

Digital compression and loudness war is destroying the musical emotion. Today, every digital material is heavily compressed. Whether it's streaming or downloaded. Analog compression is another animal. in the old time it was scarcely used, and does not rely on the same process. People have to stand out for and understand they are being lied to with all the high resolution trend, with only 4 or 5 db of DR...

Yes...in most cases people are blaming the format when they should be blaming the mastering.

@@AudiophileJunkie Yes, we need the best format [code or whatever is since we are in a digital world today... (unfortunately?)] and the best mastering as well. Once upon a time, in old analog world, we had great format/s (not perfect tough) and great mastering. This new technology (philosophy?) by Daniel Herz aka Mark Levinson gives us hoping for a truly new way of listening to music , I think/hope. You're doing a very great job Jason, very appreciated indeed. Marco ;-) ps: a little surprised he/they didnt call the current flagship, the M1, "VENICE"... maybe he/they will do with the next one (I'd like it).
