Members of the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment record as a section of A-10 Warthogs conduct multiple gun runs on a Taliban position near the village of Ashoque in Afghanistan.
Now that the conflict in Afghanistan has finally ceased on Afghan soil, troops are starting to dig out a lot of old footage and send it our way. This footage, which was recorded by Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment's Bravo Company was nothing more than a simple presence patrol where JTACs were present with the troops. Because the JTACs were present, the Soldiers were able to effectively utilize a section of A-10 Warthogs to hammer the Taliban fighters who had attacked them during the patrol.
We have more footage from these guys that they have submitted as well, but we're digging through it and talking with the guy who sent it in to make sure we share proper context with the videos submitted. All of the footage recorded by these guys through their tough deployment was recorded in the Zhari district of the Kandahar province, and a good chunk of it was recorded near or inside of the village of Ashoque.

Loved my Man, sayin: "That's fuckin' sick" Yessir.....loved it, 'Merica !!
I did my korean military service in Osan Air base of South Korea. There we had USAF guys and numbers of A-10s stationed. Sometimes I drove my patrol further away even to the areas, the ramp for USAF, where we didn't take the responsibility to guard just to see their taxiing. It was a pure joy for me that I could hear the characteristic engine sounds of A-10s every day during my service. Unlikely the other fighters, the whistling sounds of A-10 have some nostalgic effects to me. Some may understand what I'm talking about. I believe that it will be an even better sound to listen when you hear that in the battles when they have come to help you with the Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I had no chance to hear those sounds of Gun runs but it would be better without the necessity to hear that rest of my life in Korean Peninsula and you know why...Haha I met many nice USAF guys during my service. Members of 7th Air Force, a sergeant for V-22 from Okinawa, a F-22 pilot from Alaska, an AC-130 gunner guy(I guess he was a marine) from some base of Pacific swh. A pair of MP guys who unexpectedly visited our office with cupcakes on the Easter day. The family cilvilians of those soldiers in the base who always said hi to us first. They are all good memories. I thank them all. I appreciate especially for the members of the 51st Fighter Wing. I know you guys are still there cuz I visit Songtan once or twice a year for my business lol. Thank you all. I'm glad that Korea is grown up strong to make our alliance no longer one-sided. And I'm also very proudy that we are the allys who understand the importance of the shared values that we try to protect. Freedom, Democracy and the Human Rights under the shared values of our two constitutions. We fought together. We will fight together. 🤜🤛

In the beginning hours of any regional war, this alliance is now strongly in favor of the Korean military. Your ground forces and weapons and strength are stronger than you know. In the first days of any war on the peninsula, Korea would hold ground and strongly oppose any enemies. The US would be a bystander to the power the Koreans have now at Sea and at land, and even in the first days of an air war. Korea is a shining bastion of what democracy and competitive values can do for a country and its people.

It’s the best sound.
I live near an A-10 AFB (retired military) and we love seeing and hearing the sounds of the jets. We all stop and watch despite being around various military aircraft in various parts of the world for more than half my life. 😁
As a retired 11B, we don’t need an AF liaison to coordinate CAS missions, we used to train our NCO’s at all levels on how to deploy various assets and limitations of various ordinances. During the Gulf War we learned to watch A-10’s carefully as they would usually fly around our positions and do practice runs on various targets which would scare the shit out of us, lol. During Iraq OIF 1 it was fun watching the A-10 create new assholes in bad guys. I remember one night going on top of our house on Al Rashid when a pair of hogs tore up a house a click from the rear gate that had enemy spotters in it, it was like the 4th of July watching them rip the house apart, there’s still a bare spot on the satellite images, lol.

That delay you hear between the crackling sound and the "burrrrtttt" sound is mainly due to the way sound propagates, remember those 30mm bullets are traveling faster than the speed of sound so they will hit the target before the sound catches up.
I remember reading a comment on an A-10 video, it was like "If you hear the second BBBRRRRT, they weren't aiming for you."

Affectionately called the “A-10 Warthog” for its aggressive look and often painted with teeth on the nose cone, the A-10 Thunderbolt II is the U.S. Air Force's primary low-altitude close air support aircraft. The A-10 is perhaps best known for its fearsome GAU-8 Avenger 30mm gatling gun. Using the cannon, the A-10 is capable of disabling a main battle tank from a range of over 6,500m. The cannon can fire a range of ammunition, including armor-piercing incendiary rounds or uranium-depleted.

*A-10 comes online* Taliban: **starts praying** US: **Starts taking pictures**
I LOVE the morale boost the air cover gives the troops. When they know they have air support, they have hope.
LOVE YOU GUYS 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
My dad was in Afghanistan when the A10 would fly by dad told me when it was around my dad felt safe and he loved the sound the A10 gun would sound
When i read Danger Close my Mind automatically went to Generation Kill dude. The way he explained to Encino man what danger close is etched in my mind
Best video I've watched all day!
I love our military so much
A-10 runs are so soothing to me. Love the sound that GAU-8 makes, too bad whoever is on the receiving end don't get to hear it lol.
Now you know why I love the A10s. Biggest crowd pleaser when you need something to keep your opponents heads down
I always come back to this video, BRRRT ❤
JTAC dudes get some hate from other operators, but they are some of the most important people on the battlefield. Hyper-accurate CAS is a big ol plus.

That JTAC is SRA Bradley Smith if you're in that career field just respect them Google him. He was an awesome guy and great warrior
When you hear the crackle of rounds on target BEFORE hearing the gun....that has got to be an epic and awesome sound for our troops, and terrifying as hell for the bad guys that didn't get turned to red mist.. Thank you to all that have served and are still serving.
Good times dudes!!!! Blessings 🙌 🙌 🙌 🙌
