John, I pay $135.90 per month for Comcast internet. I don't have cable, or a landline phone that is just internet. Other countries are much better at controlling prices.

Tbe U.S Goverment needs to learn from Australia. In Australia the Fiber Cable infrastructure is owned by NBN CO (An AU goverment owned compamy wholesales out to the various ISPs in Australia. We can choose which ISP we want to subscribe to which is good for competition. The U.S system sucks in that way

It might be a deep discount, but they never said anything about the bundle being AD free. Might be a trick.

Wonder how much thses bundles cost with them that have ads and those without ads. Eventually they'll raise those bundle prices like 2 years later, if not sooner than that.

Guarantee the discounted price will be for the service with ads and less resolution Ad free will be significantly higher priced.

That’s what it’s going to be most likely. I have the majority of all these streaming services and just use Comcast for internet. I cut the cord 5 years ago and have no plans going back. I’ll keep paying for them all separately AD-Free and in HD or 4K for some of them.

7:14 you can choose that. Like where my mom lives they have AT&T Fiber and they have Spectrum as choices. I have AT&T “Uverse”, Spectrum, and my local electric provider who has a Fiber ISP.

Comcast just raised my fees recently. I hate them

I mentioned year's ago cable companies was gonna bundle streaming channels like cable channels. It's the only logical collusion for Satellite and Cable companies can survive. Get 5 streaming channels for $40, 8 for $70, 10 for $110 and so forth.

Whenever I'm in an area where I don't have to use home internet on my phone, I use T-mobile. I get 5G UC and it's fast. But if you have Peacock as a streaming service I would think that makes you a Comcast customer.

2:59 so let me correct that. You probably don’t have another cable choice, but you may be able to choose Verizon (or AT&T) or whoever is your local phone provider as an internet provider. They may not offer fast speeds, if they have not upgraded to fiber, but that could be an option. And any internet provider who is NOT a cable provider can come in build a fiber network (or wireless network like T-Mobile or satellite) and provide you service. Cable companies are the ones who decided we won’t compete with each other so they don’t. The government allows it but the cable providers could change that. And don’t.

I don't watch any of those platforms enough to subscribe to Comcast. lmao I'm glad I don't have a streaming addiction. It saves me a lot of money. I'll watch a show here and there, but, that's about it. I'm going to cancel my Disney+ after the final episode of X-men 97 and wait until the next interesting show.

We do not have Comcast where I live in upstate NY all we got is spectrum

I have Xfinity for my TV and internet as well as my mobile and, what pisses me off about Xfinity is that you have two service fees. One is the broadcast TV fee, which is fine.. But the other one is is a Regional Sports Fee which was only about 8 bucks when I first got Xfinity some years ago. That sports fee has gone up to where it is now, which is $18.45 and I can NOT opt out of it. It's just my grandmother and I here and neither of us have ever even watched 30 seconds of any sports content in the last 20 years. It's just not content we ever have or ever would consume. Despite that, we are literally not allowed to opt out of it at all. The only way to not have it is to have their most basic barebones TV package which has basically nothing to it. I don't know what kind of grip the sports industry has on the balls of these broadcast companies but that honestly feels like extortion. You seriously mean to tell me that if I say I don't have any interest in sports, I can't choose not to fork out more than what almost two streaming services together would cost? It's BS of the highest order if you ask me.

Broadband isn't link cable. There isn't a limitation there, as far as I know. I don't know if Comcast does provide broadband where they don't have Comcast dosen't have cable. Cable is a lot like land lines, there may be a Monopoly but who really cares anymore.

Baseline its not great consumer relations on two fronts the comcast deal can screw its customer base with potential higher Internet and the streaming companies lose out on the rest of general public who use other providers for there Internet.

I would do that since I have both netflix and peacock but I hate how you have to be a comcast customer which is bull.

I’m not getting Comcast, I’m not paying for the extremely small library on AppleTV+, I haven’t even thought about Peacock since Halloween Ends hit 4K and I’d rather castrate myself with a hot butter knife before I give Netflix another penny.

Apple TV+ is small but extremely high quality. I would rather that than all the junk filler on other services.

Obviously not aware of all the FCC oversight on having internet providers in an area.

The reason the ISP’s have “territories” is because they built and own the infrastructure in the areas that they operate. You can’t just force them to let other companies use their bandwidth, without just compensation, under the 5th Amendment to the Constitution. Otherwise it would be an illegal taking. And once other companies are paying “rent” to the ISP that actually owns the infrastructure, the savings introduced by competition are drastically reduced or possibly eliminated entirely.

John, maybe your area doesn't have the resources to upgrade, or maybe the location isn't an optimal match for fiber optic internet, which delivers the best and faster service. Do you live in a rural area? Fiber optic infrastructure is expensive to install, and they aren't going to spend money on areas that aren't highly populated.

I like Netflix, Peacock is average, but I can't stand Apple. Probably not going to do this.

As a sports fan, I love Peacock. Netflix doesn't really interest me much. I seem to have AppleTV+ about half the time because they keep giving away two or three months free for one thing or another. They have some great content, but not much of a movie library (something Peacock does have). But Ted Lasso is amazing.

@@rickwiese5438 I will probably get it again for Severance, but it wasn't the content that was an issue, but the service. Idk how it was for you, but for me, it was extremely laggy and buggy. I'd start an episode of a show, and it would spin for sometimes up to five minutes. Other streamers worked fine for me. Just this one is a problem. I agree about Ted Lasso and Monarch is also good.

At least Peacock & Apple TV+ don't play games with people when it comes to 4K Dolby Vision, like the enormously overrated Netflix does🙄🙄🙄!!!
