If you don’t have ground water issues, you’re better off removing a portion of your basement slab and digging out a sunken section for the golf simulator.

For the golf simulator, instead of cutting the floor joists to get room from above , you can consider cutting into the concrete and have a little drop down pad to have room to swing!

if your worried about the dog getting stuck in the pool, get him in there when your in the pool and guide him to the way out mutliple times so if he ever falls in he knows how to get out and doesnt just panic

Contratulations on the new home! I love the epic living room / kitchen. As for the Moose head...I vote the wall you would see walking in the home as long as it doesn't block the light from the windows.

Hey so I'm a drywaller, every golf simulator I've done is at least 11 feet tall normally 12 feet. You will need to dig the floor out to put one in. Not impossible but definitely work. If you're looking for someone to do your drywall when your ready l would love to do it I'm about 1 1/2 away from Barrie

The Timber-Frame structural beams look great, but I'm worried that they won't be strong enough to hold all the trophies you win in the next few years. Looks great, congrats! The moose head needs to be the centerpiece of that room, so I'm guessing the first place you pointed to would be best, if not above the fireplace. The corners would definitely be too unbalanced.

we have always thrown our dogs in our pool and teach them where the steps are, they have always learned quickly to use the steps and not try to climb out the side. only one of our dogs ever has volintarily gotten in the pool, the others love water but never get in

I know I'm old when I see a big house and think how much is that going to cost to heat in winter.

If you are looking to get some extra room for your golf simulator I would suggest hiring an engineer to design steel reinforcing beams to give you the extra room required. Nice house by the way.
