Ойындар

Hello in this video in Microsoft flight simulator 2020 we take the Diamond Da62 up for a test of the ILS capabilities of the G1000nxi GPS. I must say it is so easy with the nxi mod that its almost hands free. I am also using the da62 Improvement mod check out the link below. This is a basic tutorial of the gps only on how to perform a ils approach and landing. If you have any questions please post them below also remember to like and subscribe to the channel ! thanks for watching

I have done a video on pilot edge not but vatsim . The issue I have with vatsim is I can't teach the proper atc communications because they don't use the standard frequency and they usually don't have all the atc needed example. Ground ,clearance delivery, tower , departure, center, approach you get what I am saying so talking to each one is essential for proper atc training But that doesn't mean that it isn't fun using vatsim and it does help with phraseology using the radios so I'm not knocking it at all . I may do a flight on vatsim not as a tutorial but just a fun flight that I may do . Hey if you haven't seen the one on pilotedge check out this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZHel0sSMYdO5cps.html

The other thing with live atc is that I can't take to time to explain things while doing a tutorial so that also makes it hard I have to concentrate more lol. My brain hurts 😆. But I do enjoy live atc when normal flying.

Hey folks, I am having a ball watching you plan and fly a VNAV/ILS approach using the G1000nxi. I owned and flew a Baron 58P for years during my business career depending on round gages and mechanical pointers. I stopped flying and sold my Baron when my wife died in 1986. Now, at the age of 81 years old, I bought an Epic E1000Gx and in line waiting for it to be produced. The Epic has the G1000nxi glass instruments so I came across your KZread site demonstrating the G1000nxi. You have no idea how much fun it is to watch and learn flying a glass cockpit. Your up beat attitude and fast pace fits so well with my flying experience of around 10K logged flying experience. Just love the way you make it fun learning the G1000nxi. I got so bored watching G1000nxi tutorials, …where’s the fun and excitement?….not! Keep up the great entertainment that makes learning exciting You should make an exciting demonstration showing making a departure and making a minimum instrument landing at Aspen Colo which, if your honest, can make you adrenaline flow, what a trill!

Excellent video, as always. I get another little tidbit every time I watch it. One question I do have though is where “minimums” enter the equation. Many times I enter the minimums in the flight plan, at least I think I’m doing that, but I never hear the callout, ‘minimums’ from the system. I think I may have some confusion between AGL and MSL. Not being an instrument pilot, nor having ever received any instrument training, I’m just assuming the minimums on the approach chart are in AGL so, if the airport is at 500 feet MSL and I enter 200 feet in the G1000NXi, I’m assuming that the G1000NXi will do the math and call ‘minimums’ at 700 feet MSL. I guess I could do this experiment in the sim, but it freezes so often on me these days, I tend to not want to dedicate the time I have with it to just testing things. Again, great info and I thank you for your hard work!

Hey thanks for the comment so the minimums you can enter either a baro min ot radio min the baro is msl and radio is all I did a great video on the approach charts and how to read them here it is this will help you loads in understanding what to enter kzread.info/dash/bejne/i3iZ28OglLfQmMY.html .

I first tried the stock DA62 that comes with MSFS. I did a cold start. I went through the checklists for cockpit prep and before starting engines. As soon as I turn on the engine master switches both engines start. Both displays go dark and nothing I do will bring them back. I tried taxing and the engines went full throttle and I lost control. Next, I tried starting on the runway with everything working. I take off and a few seconds later both screens go dark again. Very frustrating. As it stands now the DA62 is unflyable. I decided to give the DA62 mod a try. The only directions I could find were to move the DA62 folder and the G1000 folder into the MSFS community folder. I didn't extract any files. I started up MSFS and there was no change. Even when the G1000 starts up none of the functions work. Everything says inop, and after a few seconds both screens go dark, and that's it for the day. I can't figure out why nothing works. I flew one flight with all dark screens. I managed to take off and crash land on a runway. Any suggestions?

Hey there so first you need to extract zip files you cannot put zip files in community folder . So you need to unzip and then put the da62 folder In the community folder and make sure if you double click on the da62 folder( that you put in community) that it opens and shows you the internal files and not another da62 folder . Second don't install the g1000 mod to the community folder go into the in sim.marketplace and type g1000 and download the nxi mod from there. I hope this helps.

Update: After spending way too much time researching my problem, I found that my screen issue was related to my thrust master throttle quadrant. I had to go into MSFS and remove all references to engines and instruments. Screens now stay on. I did manage to fly a trip from Flagstaff to Grand Canyon airport. I flew over the canyon for a while then returned and landed at GCN. Unfortunately, the engines never went to idle, the steering didn't seem to work, and I couldn't slow it down. So I went off into the weeds. Looks like I'm just going to have to put in some time getting the basics of MSFS and work my way from there. I see potential in this VR flying, but it appears that there is a steep learning curve that requires a lot of time in trial and error.

my request for DA62 ILS was 'without' the VNAV. especially when the APR has a r/way with ILS but the freq doesnt tune automatically to NAV1. maybe others are getting confused too.

I specifically went over in the video what to do if the GPS doesn't tune to the localizer frequency automatically. But you should already have the localizer frequency tuned in and and if you didn't know how to do that I listed a video at the very beginning that you can watch about how to input your flight plan and also input the navfrequencies.

@@2020fsers no i am not talking abt VNAV . even OBS doesnt work for that matter. what i am saying is strangely my AP doesnt move to the next waypoint after takeoff and even if the NAV mode is active it just flies in a straight line. on the PFD i have the FMS active but to no avail. if however i use the HDG it moves in that direction.

Hey peeps. I don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong, but the approach does not always work. I have the correct ILS frequency set, I turn the CDI from NAV to LOC1. The purple arrow turns to green, I can see the course the localizer should set me on, I can see where I need to line up. I turn on APR mode. When it's time for the plane to actually turn to the indicated direction, it does nothing, it flies past it as if the autopilot was turned off. In other cases the plane lines up just fine, but only usually when I'm almost perfectly lined up in the direction of the localizer. What piece am I missing?

@@2020fsers I am not. Does it fix intermittent issues with this? I did another flight last night and had a clean approach. 2 quick questions. 1. Does the approach mode only control my altitude and catches and holds the glide slope? Or will it also navigate the aircraft and line it up with the runway? 2. Is distance from the airport or the localizer important here? I have a feeling I was previously too far from the localizer at the runway and maybe didn't catch it, which is why my plane wasn't reacting to it. Is there a max distance for this? Thanks for all the great help by the way, your content is making this game a lot more enjoyable.

Ok the approach mode will control alt and will line you on the loc. .distance is important to activate the approach mode it's best to activate once the glide slope diamond comes down to meet you at your altitude at the FAF. But you must be at the alt restriction for the FAF as well.
