Sophisticated witty series starring Richard Denning and Barbara Britton as a married couple living in NYC who investigate various crimes and invariably solve them before the police do!
NOSED OUT: After a day at the racetrack, the Norths find the body of jockey Eddie Mears in their car trunk. It's an unexpected coincidence that Mears owned the same make and model car as the Norths and kept it in the same city parking garage. Eddie's wife Zelma, who had asked him for a divorce just the night before, seems the obvious suspect, but Pam questions the garage owner.

She WANTS to notify the "poor man's widow." They should give her a job with the police just notifying next of kin of the deaths of their dear ones, a job all normal people haven't the heart for and utterly dread. And hide the matches from her. And keep an eye on small pets. (Doesn't matter! Love this show. Thumbsies uppies.)

What do you have to do to lock the trunk on one of those cars? I liked the lighted glove compartment.
I would have got me some new groceries, I don't care if he was in the trunk!

I wonder if the Mrs. North character was at all influenced by the character portrayed by Gracie Allen in the Burns and Allen shows.

Gracie DID play "Pam North" in a 1942 movie (with William Post Jr. as "Jerry"), but the characters were created by Richard and Frances Lockridge for a series of magazine stories that eventually became lighthearted crime dramas- and a radio series.
