I have this seed that came last week. It it ok if I seed it now or just wait till August. I’m starting from scratch. I’m in MN. I mean if I sees now and give it the right about of water, would it matter?

The Turf Blue Pro is quite resilient. And I know that it can get quite humid in MN, (I know because I lived there for a couple of years, ;-) ) If you seed now, and give it the amount of water it needs to prompt germination and establishment, you should be just fine. It may struggle just a little bit in the higher heat and humidity, but that will only last for a couple of weeks and then you should come back out of it and the grass should have no issue recovering, which the stress should be minimal anyways. Then I would save some of the seed and do an overseed in the first week of September. This will give enough time to germinate, get fairly established and then go dormant for the upcoming (hell freezing over) winter. Yes I know that cold like no other!! -40 below will be forever etched in my brain, and fingers and toes...LOL. Then when spring comes around next year you should have a good push of growth coming out of dormancy and a great looking lawn shortly thereafter, if your water, nutrients, etc are put down correctly!!! Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.

Hi. Have a question. I'm in Michigan with very sandy soil. Is there a benefit to putting down the RPR / HGT Bluegrass combo or just seed with RPR and then overseed this fall with the HGT Bluegrass? I should have my irrigation system functioning by early July. It's probably too late for Bluegrass seed, right?

I also plan to put down 3 inches of topsoil before I seed with the RPR in July.

It is possible to seed in July with KBG. But you are then committing to watering like a “crazy person” 🤣🤣to keep that seed damp enough to push germination and for a couple of weeks thereafter to maintain the seedling development . I love my Turf Blue Pro with the RPR combine, I put down. I have also repeated it on 3 others yards this year and we are seeing amazing results. I have not used the HGT KBG but have heard great things about it. So bottom line…you can seed in the heat of July…it’s not easy and will take more attention to the moisture level and obviously MORE water. You can also Pre-germinate the KBG (as long as it’s not coated with the Yellowjacket coating.) I put out a video on that in 2022 in my ugly lawn series for that year. Thank you for the comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.

Yes, I do have the main areas of my lawn. I just started with the mow strips as I totally killed it off the fall before and doing a full renovation on a blank canvas. That's too bad that in Malaysia they would do that to you!! 😂😂 Or did you mean "wasted" meaning getting "drunk" LOL....which for some may not be too bad!! LOL. Thank you for your comment. I hope to hear from you in the future.
