Moving to Hungary from the US: A Veteran Living in Budapest | My Chat with Tj.
I spoke with a US Veteran Tj who has been living here in Budapest for the past few years in District 6. He talks about his experience and the people he has met that changed his perspective about the difference between living here and in the U.S.

I'm considering immigrating for my retirement soon. I'm currently learning the language. My family is originally from Tapolca.

There are plenty of giant stores that eclipse even Walmarts. Try some Tesco hypermarkets or some Auchans. You just need to check out which one is a big one.

It has to be said though, that the old crime-ridden VIII. district was no more dangerous during its darkest days than a rather peaceful US municipality.

Hungary was one of the best countries to live in before the plague hit. And then there was a very dry summer which killed all the crops in parts of Europe, and also the war in Ukraine. Inflation really messed things up. Prices for everything pretty much doubled in just a few years. That being said, Hungary, especially the capitol and its agglomeration is still a great place to live in. No disrespect, but I would never exchange it for the vast majority of the US, where crime, drugs and other things are just mental.

Would be nice if military helth insurance would work in every NATO country.
