It's good to see a positive review of my beautiful homeland. I'm a true local (tracing ancestry back hundreds of years), but I also travel (until recently we also owned a home in Western Australia). We get really ratty when incomers live here for financial reasons and are then highly critical of island life! Yes, there are plenty of minor downsides but thanks for being honest. The only constructive points I'd make is that: 1. Even though I'm a true Guern I don't know everyone here! and 2. Most sane locals don't swim in the winter months!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience of living in Guernsey. I guess everyone has their own reasons for moving to Guernsey, some are may be at a different chapter in their life, perhaps a job move, or are searching for a different lifestyle or experience. Although one thing I found by talking to islanders when I was there was how positive and proud they were of this beautiful place. I spent most of my time chatting away to islanders on the buses and got a good sense of day to day life. So am glad to hear you have felt the same about your time living there , although I do understand being youngsters (unlike me) with a desire to venture around this big globe we live on that now you are getting twitchy itchy feet. I love this spirit and zest for life and only wished I had been able and had the confidence to do this at your age. Thanks for all the info on places to eat for veggies like me shown in your recordings. I was there a few years back around the time of the Tenner Fest, so was able to enjoy this and also I sought out some Hedge Veg too and made soups and had this with a crusty roll and Guernsey butter...mmm! I found food to be a little more expensive but accepted that it had to be brought into Guernsey. Although I think you can pick up some bargains as I did when cooking a meal. I loved walking down lots of the route tranquil...which as you mentioned cars going either way would struggle down some roads. One thing I did notice at the time and no doubt this has changed since was there wasn't as much recycling and being an avid recycler struggled at the time.

Great hearing your views of the island, I began following you on Instagram before moving here to get a view of the island, and you certainly helped convince me we're making the right decision. You said you may think of going back to the UK in the early part of next year, I'm curious if you still want to go with the latest lockdown announcement? I can understand you being young and without children, getting itchy feet, but for us with primary age children it is the perfect environment and we're glad we made the move. I think like you said, you need that freedom to hop on and off the island freely which unfortunately we don't have at the moment. Thanks for your video/s they are great. I've only just started following you on KZread but the videos will be great to share with family who haven't visited!

Another excellent video guys! I don't think I'd ever leave Guernsey. I'm too comfortable living here I think! The only thing here is that the cost of houses are ridiculous! I've been broke for 4 years since buying my house and you don't get much for your money in the houses here! But besides that, I love it! I like the idea of living somewhere else, but just don't think I could bring myself to leave! The community spirit is lovely and the fact that the sea is right on your doorstep is wonderful and it only takes me about 6 minutes to drive to my Dad's house! There's so many highlights of living here! :-) x

I enjoyed this ☺️ I was born in Guernsey but left 6 years ago to move to Western Australia. My parents are still on Island though. We moved due to the soaring house prices mostly! It's a beautiful place though, although has downsides (cost being a major one, education too now it would seem, and getting some medical care by having to fly off to the uk makes life difficult). I don't think you mentioned that, depending on circumstances, you may need a licence to live in Guernsey. It's not simply as easy as moving over, buying a house, and that's it. You may only be granted a 5 yr licence, at the end of which you may have to leave, or go open market (the even more expensive housing market). It's good for population control, but hard if people come over, get settled, and then find they can't stay forever. Lovely seeing my home through your eyes though, keep up the good work!

Great video, thank you. I am currently on island, for five weeks (2 in isolation, now finished), to view both Guernsey and my potential new job. If all goes well the plan is to relocate here with my wife, 2 kids and dog. I have to say the island is spectacular, and despite the size there is clearly so much to see and do. My main concern is around our 2 sons (9 & 12) settling in, making new friends and not finding it boring, it does however, I believe, look like a good active lifestyle for children too. Fingers crossed, we’ll all be here sometime in the new year. Thanks again.

Interesting video and inspiring for so many young ones because I was told if you are something like over 60 or 55 unles you have plenty of money you are not alowed to move whicn I quite understand... and how about doctors, hospitals, dentists... how are these like. I very much take it that you have to pay for all, am I right? So if one is a bit troubled with health is not easy because paying for everything... money will run out and then what? But I am also thinking because is such a heavenly place shall I say, food is organic, sea air, hopefully hardly any polution, exercise, lovely safe friendly atmosphere is healing in itself... ei, am I right dear people? Are there natural remedies to buy and keep super healthy that way as well? Vital questions to ask and people can learn from us the readers of this lovely platform. Thank you and bless you☺👏🙏.
