Thank you for the info We have a few properties on the west side of Ambergriscaye. Just finished building a rental property at “ Secret Beach “ . It’s true, there’s definitely a real thing called Island time . Our build took 5 months and 20% more. Being in the construction trade in New England for 35+ years this was a difficult concept for me to get over. But now we are past the learning curve. I also agree every one knows each other, be kind , respectful and give back. The locals are truly friendly. While we are investing on the island at this point , I am thinking the main land is quit different in some aspects. I encourage anyone looking to move to or invest in Belize to live your dreams.

So many people ( all over the world ) don’t have a clue about being polite when they travel to another culture. Use your common sense and be polite. Read people’s body language. If you don’t know how to be empathetic please keep your opinions and judgements to yourself and don’t stare ! Thank you again for the useful information and humor . Namaste.

His information about the whole family showing up to a date is misleading. He must have invited them or they would not show up. About meeting the Prime Minister is not available upon request. Belizeans don't eat everything that moves. We may be poor but very picky. You don't pay a fine to the police. If you do it is bribery. Building materials are readily available in Belize. He probably wanted something different that would have to be imported or depending on the part of the country he lived. While he had some good points, I recommend the owner of this site verify information before posting from expats.
