BELIZE | 4x4 TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY | THE PEOPLE'S PARADISE
Belize is a small paradise on the Caribbean coast, with an even smaller population. Yet, despite almost bypassing it during our tour of Central America, it quickly became one of our favorite countries. More often known for its stunning islands, mainland Belize is typically overlooked for backpacking and travel.
However, the country has a strong focus on wildlife and environmental conservation. As a result, despite its relatively small size, there's a large amount of forest reserves, parks, and backcountry access. This means for Overlanding, van life, 4x4 and off-road adventures, there's no shortage of things to do and places to see. Mainland Belize strongly focuses on camping, hiking, and exploring its diverse landscape.
Belize also has a diverse population, that seems to all coexist in an effortless mesh of different cultures. Here you can find Mexican and Latin dishes, Caribbean food, and Mennonite cheeses among others. With truly kind and laid-back people, Belize quickly became one of our favorites.
In fact, we liked it so much, we came back for a second tour.

When I was in Belize if I saw a road sign for 4 wheelers I knew things ahead were going to sh*t fast. You might get stuck for a couple days during the rainy season. Everyone learns after time in country. Beautiful country, beautiful people..😮😊

Been to Belize a few times, and seeing a different perspective is great. Big Rock Falls was a favorite near Blancaneaux Lodge, where I stayed. Well done!
And you need a Patreon! I usually don't give money to KZreadrs because many of them have earned a ton by the time they get really popular. Like the nomadic movement is buying their 3rd property, it's insane. So many sailboat KZreadrs have catamarans worth nearly half a million if not more... I wish you success both financially and in your pursuits
So cool.. Can't wait.
What a beautiful story !!
Amazing video, you two are so blessed be able to live out your traveling dreams while you're so young. We'll be in Belize on Tuesday as part of a Cruise itinerary. We plan to fly to Caye Caulker from the municipal airport for a few hours of fun.

So cool to find some friends to hang out with while traveling. It doesn't get any better than that. Belize looks like one of the best and most secure of the countries you have been to so far for me.

Great video. I took my wife and 4 kids there a few times debating on moving there from the mid-west. But, what I found is the Philippines is like half the cost of Belize. But unfortunately it's just so far. But I agree... Belize is beautiful. We rented a car and traversed the country from the ocean to Guatemala. We do love it there. Good video my new friends.

I would love to do something similar.. is 4x4 Vehicle recommended? What's the average cost for a trip like this from Cali/Salvador. Ty
@goaloneTV
10 ай бұрын
@@jms1721 Well, for us we love 4x4 because we can drive out onto the sand, and we like trying to get to remote and unreachable places. And for me as well, I just love to do some off-roading sometimes haha. But, it's completely not required, we meet people with 2wd vans that are definitely 10x more comfortable, the roads are pretty good everywhere (some times they're full of potholes but 4x4 won't help for that anyways). As far as cost, it's tough to say, cost of travelling for us is way lower than living in Canada or the Netherlands for example... Except for the fuel. That's really what determines the monthly budget. I'd calculate the cost of fuel from Cali to Salvador in relation to your vehicles MPG, and then from there maybe add $40 a day if you're solo. It's cheaper with two of course, splitting hotel rooms, fuel, etc.
Watching from the UK and it's super cool seeing your travels. Definitely hope to have some similar trips in my Defender in the future.

On another note.... I also came face to face with a furderlance snake. Not sure how it's spelled.... But I understand that if you get bit by one of those, your chance of survival is minimal. I was climbing a big Rock and as I pulled myself over the rock it was nestling in the sun after a meal (the guide said). So that was a but eye opening. From then we were always on the lookout for snakes on the trails.
Started watching when driving south came out trying to find pan american highway material, love the channel and hope you guys get the funds to keep going, seems like you're finding out the formula for views based on the last 2 videos hahahaha. good luck and love the interactions with the locals of these countries, keep it up!

@@goaloneTV if you ever have plans come up Fourth Avenue in Corozal Town to Consejo Village [7 miles], I created and manage Consejo Village Library Project on Parcel #492 since September 2008, starting CVL in 2006 out of our house, which had no doors at the time. We also caretake a friend's house next door which is a 2 br 2 bath 3' from the sea. It is undergoing renovations now and then we will register it as a Belize Guesthouse at a very reasonable price by Jan 2024. Or, you can come camp right anytime here on our lot, so long as you are self contained. Consejo Village lost its piped water supply May 21, 2017 and with climate change, we have had to put in limits.

@goaloneTV

Thanks man! Every country after the US requires its own insurance (except some central american countries which don't require insurance at all). Belize is simple as it gets, when you drive across the border the insurance agency is right there and it's like $20 for the month or so.

been to Belize several times and been all over pretty much. pine ridge national forest is pretty nice and i also stayed in ambergris caye. went snorkeling in Hol Chan marine reserve which is about 2 miles from ambergris caye. overall, its very dense jungle, under developed, no diversity. It all looks the same. the whold country is thick jungle pretty much and thats it. the beaches were not as good as i expected.

Did you have to get direct authorization to fly your drone?
@goaloneTV
9 ай бұрын
Finally someone asked! I was going to mention this in the video but, the first time we were there we honestly had no idea there was a drone ban in the country, and all the drone vids are in this video are from our first visit. The second time we went the drone was broken and at the same time we found out there was no possible way to get a drone permit for Belize anymore, you can't import/order a drone to Belize either. They simply don't issue foreigners permits for personal use anymore. You need to be hired by a company for a commerical permit. Only way.

Been living in Belize for a year and there are some very dark sides to Belize, I know of at least 3 gringos that have been robbed and murdered this year. I can only recommend Belize for a pass through. Belize is very expensive also and I find the locals untrust worthy. Also gringos mostly get charged double compared to locals which I find outlandish, it would be illegal for us to charge ‘black foreigners’ double.
