Hi my name is Mark and I have helped thousands of people learn how to keep and breed shrimp over the years, I help aquarists go from killing shrimp to tanks busting full of shrimplets. 🦐✨
Disclosure: Marks Shrimp Tanks is an affiliate of Aquaristik Shop and Send Owl, the book publisher. Mark earns a small commission fee for each sale, and all of the money goes back into shrimp keeping. Just don't tell his wife.

I like this slightly more niche video showing the more “advanced” or selective parts of shrimp breeding and raising, there’s 100 videos on “first shrimp tank” but a lot less on detail like this! I like your cow analogy too 😂 crystal blacks kind of look like cows in a way? Deeper dives into shrimp genetics I also find really interesting too.
This type of stuff is exactly what I like, Mark, and as always your advice for new shrimp keepers. I've been going backward through your older videos and still enjoying everything I learn from these!🦐♥

I like all aspects, we learn a lot just by observing others as they go about their daily routines. Keep it up 😆

I prefer this looser, less edited vids. It may seem like rambling to you but it really has a lot of bits of wisdom that are gold for us trying to keep our shrimp happy.

Show us all of the foods you're currently using. Maybe another scavenger hunt to see what's growing near the new house.

I'm glad for any content you put out! Whatever feels right to you. I did unfortunately lose my shrimpies, not sure what happened but the tank crashed. I am keeping a betta fish for a bit in the rescaped and recycled tank but will continue to learn from your videos until I get more in the future.
I love your channel, the mixture of video styles that you do, works nicely.

This is great stuff Mark, and I never get bored of a new tank setup video and your random DIY projects 👍 I'm catching up on your videos after being away for a week or so 😆
Your tanks are looking great Mark good to see so many babies for you! 😊

No need to drip acclimate of your parameters are very similar. I’ve never dripped when moving them to different tanks and had no problems

Glad to see you back in action again. That sort of video is more of your original style and you built your audience on this type of content I think you should make more of this style. The videos do better when you show your setups and what you doing with your shrimp kind of room tour. Also, you probably noticed that new tank setups and timelapses are very popular. The tip videos is a bit hard to create unless you doing it all the time and got some skills like 'fishkeepinganswers' for example. But you have to repeat yourself over and over again. I think consistency is also important for algorithm. That's my real problem and yours as well. When I don't upload for 3 months algorithm doesn't like it. I noticed you didn't upload for a while and when you uploaded I didn't got any notifications that's kind of punishment from youtube. The video perfoms very slow in beginning because it's not being recommended by youtube. So it's better to it regularly which is hard because we also have a life and youtube is not our job. Juyst my though you probably know all of this anyway. Keep it up!

Thank you for those words of wisdom, yes and I agree KZread doesnt like you having a break even though they say it doesnt matter, I see it in the numbers.
Why am I not getting notifications when you post? KZread is so messed up. I just seen that I've missed several videos.
I’m trying this method out I’m waiting until all my shrimplets get a bit bigger and they are being moved over to the grow out tank
Great video, thank you. I was going to ask how you go about catching shrimp. However I do have a planted tank so I’m dreading catching them 😬

Sup, Mark, how's ur OEBT shrimp going? Can you show em in the next video?
@MarksShrimpTanks
Ай бұрын
OEBT tank has been gone for a while, I made the mistake of selling to many and the tank never returned to its former glory.
Can you explain your reasoning for drip acclimating among your own tanks? I totally get acclimating new shrimp, but I would think that the chemistry is about the same.
@MarksShrimpTanks

Hello Erika, all of my tanks are a little different and then you have the setup time being different this makes a difference to parameters, for example a new tanks pH could be as low as a 5 pH but after a year it might be 6.5. I do it because i see the difference in drip acclimating VS not doing it, it would be very lazy of me not to drip acclimate if it saved a shrimps life.
Hi Mark! I love your content but i realise not everyone wants to breed shrimps. We might just want them to thrive and enjoy. I like your videos on their health. Do you have tanks in your home that you keep juste for your enjoyment? Do you sell shrimps and who do you do business with...that might be interesting. Cheers

So how much faster do the babies grow in the grow out tanks? Normaly the grow about 1cm a month.
@MarksShrimpTanks
Ай бұрын
Much faster, for comparison i have young crystals that are around 1cm in size in one tank, I moved some out about 6 weeks ago and a few are now berried while the original shrimp in the main tank are still around 1cm.
