    Tractionator Adventure 's are the way to go. I run them on my Aprilia and they don't suffer the issues you detailed in this video. Excellent on and off road.

    I really want to try a set of those after I get through these Rallz. For the type of bike I'm on I think they will make more sense.

    @Free Time the rallz are better in the wet and off road due to being softer than the adventure. I think there quieter to.

    Shinko 705’s are my go to. Lasts a long time, good wet weather and decent off road performance. It’s not a mud tire but on road performance is amazing for what they are. My current bike came with pirelli str’s and they didn’t last long at all, hummed a lot and on road performance was no where near as good as the Shinko’s.

    Sure wish this review was out a couple years ago. Then I wouldn’t have bought the Dunlop Mission Trailmax. I was afraid to go with any knobby tire fear of losing my fun on the twisties. The Trailmax is a great road tire and not bad on the trails as long as it’s not muddy or deep sand, but has a good wear value of probably over 10,000 miles or more with the Adv 390. It to has a stiff sidewall like the Rallz. Great for protecting the cast rim, but you bounce off the bigger rocks than absorbing the hit.

    Im running rallyz rear and desert HT front and they howl, but they get better as you break them in. They also tend to track worse on the road , so you will experience some wiggle as you cross the lines, cracks, tar and grooved road, I've got a Scotts damper on my 23 KTM adventure r anyways. For me, I'm going to pull them when I'm just commuting and put them back on when I am going on a ADV trip. It's a waste of a good off-road tire anyways to commute on them.

    I'm looking at more agressive tyre options than stock for my 390, so thanks for the video and the details, it helped a lot. Quick questions: 1. With a stock front fender do you think there would be clearance issues? 2. Are you using the same tyre aspect ratios as the stock TK70s or something different? Thanks!

  • @FreeTimeAdventures

    I know for sure it will clear - ADV Pulse did an article with these tires on a 390 Adventure with the stock fender which can be found here: www.advpulse.com/adv-news/motoz-tractionator-rallz-dual-sport-tire-review/ The rear tire is the exact same size but the front is a bit different. The stock front is 100/90-19 and the one I have (same as adv pulse) is a 110/80-19 which looks a bit more gnarly I think. Good luck out there!

    Man the video quality is so so good and so is the audio. ❤ Would you mind sharing what setup you running for video and audio?

  • @FreeTimeAdventures

    @FreeTimeAdventures

    Жыл бұрын

    Absolutely. The cameras are the newest DJI Osmo Action 3, and the audio is being recorded on the DJI wireless mic set. I don't use the camera audio at all and rather record a separate track with the DJI mic. The transmitter goes in an internal pocket in my jacket and I run a lav mic up into my helmet with a deadcat on it and then it gets wrapped once around with a bit of microfiber towel and then stuck partway under my helmet cheekpad. It also helps to wear a neck gator or scarf and wear a helmet with a chin skirt to block the wind as well as a good rubber visor seal, which will help isolate the audio. I also have to keep my speed under 50mph (80kph), and then it's relatively clean without much editing. Recording at -6db helps reduce static, and clipping noise helps as well. Lastly, using the "soft clipper" feature in DaVinci Resolve 18 (free btw) allows you to do some cleanup in post.

    Wich size of tires are you using? Because I haven’t found these on the original size for the 390! I’m now using a pair TKC80 but I’m looking for some tire more off-road orientated! Thanks for the video!

    I only had to change sizes on the front, picked up my tires from Rocky Mountain ATV-MC. On the front I had to go 10mil wider and down 10% on the aspect ratio with a 110/90-19 (59Q tubeless) and on the back I was able to get a factory sized 130/80-17 but it had to be a 65R tube type... Adv Pulse did exactly this for their review of the tire, which you can find here: www.advpulse.com/adv-news/motoz-tractionator-rallz-dual-sport-tire-review/

    I'm running the Rallz on the rear of my 450RL, and the Motoz Desert H/T on the front. I love the rear tire but I'm not happy with the head shake and steering oscillation coming from the H/T on the front. Is the Rallz front tire stable on road at higher/highway speeds? just looking to get as smooth and straight a ride as I can in a more aggressive front tire...your thoughts?

  • @FreeTimeAdventures

    @FreeTimeAdventures

    I have had that tire as fast as 75mph and did not experience any head shake or instability whatsoever, but I am riding a 390 Adventure and the bike is more road oriented than a 450RL. I can't say exactly how this tire will be on a dual sport, but I'm sure it's will be pretty stable. It's road manners are quite good.

    Do you have rim locks ? I found they made my dual sport shake the front around 75mph. You can Balance with the rimlock by adding weight but people often don't.

    @@chrishart8548 No rim locks, just really new. It's possible that if I gave it time to get scrubbed in it might dissipate, but the shake was bad enough I decided just to replace it. The desert H/T is for sale....$50.00

    I have a new KTM 890 ADVR. The stock continental TKC 80s are absolutely horrible off road. Mind you I am in SoCal and ride a lot of desert so lots of sand. And never wet really at all. Probably 90+ percent dirt and very little street for me. I’m looking hard at these tires but also considering their most aggressive Desert HT tires was curious if you had any experience with the HT and how they might compare.

  • @FreeTimeAdventures

    @FreeTimeAdventures

    I personally have not had any experience with the Desert H/T but another commenter here mentioned that it was giving them headshake/steering oscillation at highway speeds. So that may be some to be aware of.

    Have seen some good reviews of the RallZ on the back and HT on the front. The problem is your 890 will chew up the HT rear in no time with all that power, but the HT front is well liked, working good enough on pavement and providing much needed front grip off road. I plan to try the RallZ rear HT front combo down the road on my new 701 once the TKCs wear out. The TKCs are surprisingly good on the pavement and hard packed dirt roads. We have a lot of decomposed granite dirt where I live in Colorado, and they are "OK" on that if the pressure is not too high. Lowering the pressure from 26 to 24 front and rear while off road helped a surprising amount, especially on front. I installed heavy MotoZ tubes, mounted lightweight Warp 9 rim locks and balanced the wheels for them to help prevent tearing the valve stems, especially on the back wheel. Will probably not go lower than 24 PSI on the rear, but may go down to 20-22 PSI on the front now that the locks are in place. Front traction is more important to me while off road, the rear can spin to win. Tested it to 100 MPH after installing the rim locks and using spoke weights to balance, no vibrations. I guess my Harbor Freight static wheel balancer did a good job! 😆 Legit soft sand sucks no matter what on big bikes, even on my 701. Soft sand is for my 300 XC!

  • @FreeTimeAdventures

    @FreeTimeAdventures

    Жыл бұрын

    That's exactly what I was afraid of with the TKC 80's when shopping around. On the 390 I think the Rallz will last a long time, but I would wager that 1290 will burn up just about any tire pretty quickly with it heavier weight and huge power. Obviously, that depends on how you ride it as well. Let me know how they work for you!
